Remember that he plays essentially every week as well. You really think he's going out there week on week, repeatedly doing the same "awful" things, yet staying in the side almost all season? He's obviously given instructions on what to do by the manager, and he's clearly following them well enough to warrant his selection. It pays to remember that what you see, as a fan, is 90 mins worth on a Saturday afternoon. What happens then is a product of a whole period of training geared towards that 90 minutes, so he obviously does well enough in the eyes of those that matter.

It's all fine and well to say you don't buy it, but it's categorically true. Next time he plays in midfield with Davidson or Robertson, watch how many more times he takes the ball from a full back or a centre half, specifically when there's a man close to him. Doesn't hide, doesn't let the game pass him by so makes more mistakes. At this level it happens.

Folk giving Ross Callachan a hard time need to seriously settle down. The reason he's a target and makes more mistakes than others in games is that he always, always makes himself available for the ball, regardless of situation. A boy that's come through our own youth system and turned down Ross County to stay with us last year, stop giving him so much grief.
