I think we can, and will, sign a better and more rounded player than Brad Spencer for that position. Yes, his vision and passing on the ball was quite good, but not good enough to make up for his lack of physicality. I don’t think he will be offered a new deal, but I wouldn’t be overly disappointed if he did. If we want to have a go at the league next year I think he’s the sort of player you need to upgrade.

I had typed out a less than complimentary reply to this, but I’ve deleted it because I don’t think any players deserve a bashing after the season we’ve had. They’ve all contributed in their own way, albeit with a wide range of effectiveness. Just a quick word for Regan Hendry, as I’ve heard that he is 100% off. What an absolute delight he has been to watch over the last two years. Definitely in the conversation for the best player I’ve seen play for us. Technically fantastic, calm and collected on the ball at all times. An absolute joy to watch.

We have done quite well this evening but have locked real quality in the final third. McGlynn will know that, and will be looking to improve. Best season in my lifetime following the club, some 25 years. So many positives to take. I love this club [emoji170]

Someone on twitter saying that the linesman from tonight was the same linesman who made a c**t of the Doidge goal at the weekend. Good to see that those types of performances are rewarded with more big games. Game is over. I’m proud of what the club have achieved today both on and off the park. Looking forward to next season.
