  1. Thanks guys, think I might snap them up now as it would be a once in a lifetime kind of thing so not overly fussed with paying a little extra. That said I’d gamble on the Giants being shite again this season so might hold off and pick up one of the many empty seats!
  2. How easy was it to get tickets for a Giants game at the MetLife? Having a look and the only outlets seem to be Ticketmaster etc. Is that the only method of buying them or is there a way of buying direct, for example?
  3. Not the greatest start Malky with that opening gambit, I’ll level with you. Also I’m excited for everyone’s da looking to the subs bench and yelling at Goodwin to get Oan oan.
  4. Fitzy normally has us winning the league or a top four finish at worst. The pressure is well and truly off if he has lowered his expectations to a measly top 6 berth.
  5. Another really poor performance ending up with an inexplicable late equaliser. Felt we robbed Motherwell in all honesty who are just a better football team than us. We struggled to cope with their movement in the first half in particular and they seemed to get behind the defence all too regularly. 0-0 at HT was a relief. We missed Flynn’s ability to grab games by the balls and drive the midfield forward when he went off. Excellent finish from Magennis and keeps something of a momentum going, and perhaps instils a confidence of “no matter how shite were playing we can still get something”. Mullen shouldn’t have been taken off but his attitude at being subbed was disgraceful. Not what you need when you’re in the predicament we are. My pre-split prediction that we’ll finish 11th looks about right, Hamilton are doing us no favours but you just never know. The January window came just a few weeks too late for us but it’s still not over. Just one other thing, have I missed something to explain the rather large police presence yesterday? I’ve never seen horses at a game that wasn’t a derby, cup final or game v the old firm. Is that common for games at Fir Park? It just struck me as very odd and a tad OTT for the occasion.
  6. Can’t really add any more plaudits about the show that have already been given on the thread. I genuinely look forward to it every week and just hope there are enough like-minded people giving it the numbers to continue past the current series. The content, the chat, the knowledge and the sheer production of the show about a subject we all love dearly is just fantastic. Going to add my support for Joel as well. Very funny (if often unintentionally) and more knowledgable and analytical than perhaps being given credit for.
  7. At least we haven’t scored, then we’d have your man screaming into the microphone in unbridled ecstasy at a consolation goal at home to Alloa.
  8. That was actually my highlight of his time with us when he tweeted about Hammill’s goal v Hearts. Some boy.
  9. They did but they could hardly appoint him then refuse to back him. The board of course have to shoulder some of the responsibility for Stubbs but given his track record in the game, including coaching/management, there was no legislating for Stubbs’s gross incompetence as manager. An uninspiring, arrogant fraud.
  10. “Super Hans! You said you were on the dry heaves. That was a wettie.”
  11. I think just about the worst thing you can do is stick to the main tourist hubs like Alexanderplatz, you don’t get a real feel for the city and get fleeced into the bargain. Was in Berlin a few months back and we did a U Bahn crawl so that we covered a few different areas, most of which off the beaten track. We ended up in Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain at night which I would recommend.
  12. Come to Hamilton for a round of pancakes, burger and fries and a “‘shake”. Yeehaw.
  13. I feel heart sorry for Kearney. What we saw yesterday was the product of Stubbs’s atrocious recruitment and man management. A squad so thin that a right back had to play CB, a centre mid pushed to right back and a centre mid farmed out to right mid. They’re so low on confidence and that losing habit will take a long time to be conditioned out of them. It will be worth remembering in the tough weeks ahead that it took Jack Ross the best part of 4 months and a busy transfer window to even begin to turn things around when he took the reigns in 2016. The fans need to be patient with Oran as we won’t see instant results. That said I am getting fed up attending games where we have lost by half time. It’s an utter kick in the nads every single week.
  14. When Stubbs got appointed, my first thought at seeing the three-year deal was that there must be some sort of caveat in terms of severance. Surely there is no way that an astute individual such as Gordon Scott would just hand a manager out of work for 18 months and a chequered managerial career such a long contract. Particularly when he witnessed the Alex Rae disaster first hand. I don’t know if there’s a recency bias in our assessment of Stubbs given that the tenures of Craig, Murray and Rae are still fresh in the memory. From the outside looking in I’d think it was ludicrous that St Mirren fans would want their manager sacked so early, but the signs are not good and oh so familiar. This isn’t just a case of poor results. On and off the pitch over the last two years so much hard work had been done to create something special at our club. Within three months someone has come in seemingly hellbent on ripping it apart, hacking away at the feelgood factor that has seen our greatest number of season tickets sold since moving to the new ground. Tearing apart a successful and loved squad nucleus, freezing out top players, replacing them with poorer quality and all with a dusting of stubbornness, indifference and arrogance. We all want Stubbs to succeed but unless we improve the squad dramatically/solve the apparent player unrest then we’re relying on snookers. Or Dundee as they’re also known.
  15. Dundee, a club with a far bigger budget than ours, have already signed several players from the English non league. I’m not saying it’s ideal but Jamie Vardy was plucked from similar depths (incidentally it’s his academy from which these players have been sought). Besides, Emmanuel Sonupé played for Spurs and he was beyond terrible.
  16. Are people seriously thinking we’re in for McNair? Middlesbrough have tabled a bid of £5m FFS [emoji23]
  17. Finally, we're delving into the hard-hitting issues concerning St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership. I think beans ruin a perfectly good pie btw so I don't know, sorry. I've not heard anyone say we've stopped doing them.
  18. Potsdam, Wannasee and also the concentration camp at Sachenhausen. All in zone C, all reachable by S Bahn. I’m back from a few days on a stag do. What a blur. Do not miss the chance to take in a match if you get the chance. We saw Hertha but Union is apparently also a good day out.
  19. This time next week I'll be in Berlin and I can't wait. I've been before with my other half two years ago but this time it's for my mate's stag - 8 of us going. I've got a few things planned and know the city reasonably well, but wondered if anyone could share any experiences (positives and negatives) of Berlin for a group of males? None of us are going to be done up in mankinis or anything (at the moment anyway) so we'll not draw too much attention to ourselves, but wondered if anyone had any tips or ideas I haven't thought of? Thanks in advance.
  20. Pretty sure he then rocked up in Houston (Renfrewshire) the following day and started interviewing people outside the Fox and Hounds. Mental.
  21. I'll always remember him for mocking victims of childhood sexual abuse.
  22. If we keep up these results we might be in with a chance of winning the league.
