  1. The win at Ibrox effectively left us needing five or six points from nine games to tick off an awkward season and start afresh. The notion we were going to smoothly cruise to five or six wins was as unrealistic as the top six for me. Nicholson and Spittal were great in front of Miller at Livingston. I'd have kept Davor as well but I can understand taking a risk on that one. McGinn at lwb was mental from start to finish though, I can't even imagine the thinking behind it. Assuming fitness not an issue etc.
  2. I appreciate emotions are high on a Saturday night but come on...we were never going to reach the top six just because we had a couple of wins, we're highly unlikely to collapse into the playoffs because a 50-50 today went against us rather than for us. It's frustrating to drop needless points and obviously the sooner we can get the win to confirm matters the better but there's no need to go ott.
  3. Particularly annoying is the Aberdeen arm was up as well and could only have missed the ball by inches first. It's a bit of a meh game, being level would have been fair but we've been poor enough you don't feel hard done by either. McGinn at lwb is no less mind-boggling than at kick-off.
  4. Same... Nicholson for Davor is a calculated risk, not bringing back Gent just seems like he didn't feel he could drop Blaney, even though the situation different.
  5. Each to their own but the second details of that deal emerged plenty folk went 'ooft, rather you than me, mate'...
  6. I said to my United mate at Xmas that if we were in the playoffs I'd rather play them with everything to lose than Raith with a free shot at glory...I still think United will stumble over the line because Raith are at least as inconsistent as them but if United are in the playoffs they'll lose to County or St J. Or us.
  7. I still remember saying at half-time, 4-2 down, I thought we could win it. We seem to have a lot of 3-3 draws with Aberdeen as well, even before this season's debacle I can remember a lot off the top of my head.
  8. Mmm, I think we've definitely turned into a good attacking team but I don't think we were earlier in the season. Superficially on goals scored, yes, but there was that loooong spell we never scored in the first half and most of our goals came after the 70-minute mark when we'd switched to panic mode. I don't think we'd necessarily have scored more goals with a fit Biereth but I think we'd have scored some of them earlier in games as a result of a better, more structured attack, and that would almost certainly have brought more points.
  9. Said on our thread you can't imagine Aberdeen will be as bad again as last night but then you look at their record... It's utterly bizarre that a squad with all the usual suspects I won't bother to list again are where they are. Are they just big time Charlies who can't be fucked with the dirty work in the league, hence the solid Euro shows and cup runs? They did totally cuff us at FP earlier and obviously had their share of the game last time. I reckon we'll play well enough but defensive problems will cost us in a 2-2 draw which does little for either side.
  10. Aye and given it's agreed we need to win the last two pre-split, a couple of draws to stay in touch is the tactical way to go!
  11. Unless you subscribe to highly unlikely option that he knows he's done and is at it, I don't know why anyone wouldn't have sympathy for him as a person. As you say, that must be really hard going. But as fans and a club we'll also look at the professional aspect which is to say he was a stupid signing given his history and certainly doesn't deserve a slice of the budget for next season.
  12. I still think it's very unlikely we'll be sixth and it only takes a few weeks of things going against you and we're nervous again... That said, there's no doubt this weekend is a huge chance. St Johnstone are likely to lose in Glasgow so win and we have such a gap to those below I'd be confident of not being worse than eighth. And I'd have given huge odds on that status just a few weeks ago!
  13. Surely he'll finally get a debut... more likely than us hiring a proof reader at least.
  14. The highlights made them look absolutely shocking last night. You instinctively assume they can't be as bad again in Saturday but their record suggests otherwise. You do wonder just how a side with that many decent to (potentially) very good players can be where they are...yes, they've obviously got some haddies too but even so.
  15. County got a last minute equaliser so four wins and we're top six unless Dundee beat Rangers.
  16. My main wish later is County don't win...draws in both probably ideal but we can definitely take the positive out of whatever happens at Dens.
  17. Don't disagree...and playing Gordon for every minute when he was approaching 40, bringing in Gunn from nowhere when he got injured and only using Kelly/Clark at all when there was no choice suggests there is a strong preference for when the decision is made. The counter-argument is Gordon is obviously either not fully fit or back to his best. The logic of that is irrefutable tbh. And the follow on is then taking a guy to the Euros when not fully fit or at his best having - barring a change at Tynecastle - probably played only four competitive games, three of which will have been against lower league opposition, in 20 months following a serious injury is daft.
  18. Was curious to see McFadden and Kenny Miller on the BBC last night when both were hugely sceptical about taking Gordon, at least as it stands. I still think Kelly will miss out but I wonder if our FFS Liam bias makes it seems cut and dry when it's not.
  19. Nah, the three going to Germany can get 60 minutes each if you cut Kelly to zero.
  20. I love the fact the media team don't even disguise their hatred for Oli Shaw.
  21. Kettlewell continues to come over very well even when saying absolutely nothing.
  22. I know we still have some live business but I'm basically considering him and Nicholson signings for next season, we'll drip feed them in as and when we fancy/need.
  23. He signed till 2026 so while I doubt he'll be at Livingston next season I doubt he'll be at us either.
