  1. Most probably were, but a few around me were sarcastically cheering as soon as Tade starting heading for the bench. I think all he needs is a goal, once he gets it his confidence should get a boost, and the fans might get off his back, then we'll start to see the best of him.
  2. The part about us needing a striker is true, but to say Tade is "totally and utterly mince" is ridiculous. He's been the better of our 2 forwards so far this season.
  3. If you're going to use big bold letters at least spell the guys name right. Murray, McGurn and Ellis would be the only players to get pass marks from me today, the rest showed absolutely no fight or desire at all and we deserved to lose. The abuse of Tade was shocking, no he didn't have the best of games but he did a lot more than Weir and made a couple of half-chances for himself. He was causing problems in the Albion defence and won us a few free-kicks in good positions. Some fans actually cheered when he was subbed, it was embarrasing. Darren Smith had a really poor game, he seemed reluctant to take players on and his delivery was shocking, he didn't get any stick from the fans and some even complained when he was subbed for Walker. I'm usually the first to stick up for Iain Davidson but his attitude was rotten today, he just didn't look interested. There was one occasion where he lost the ball on the wing and just sat on the ground for a few seconds and when a fan had a go at him he turned to the stand and made the "Shh!" gesture. Disgraceful. As for the game itself, we had the better of the first half then they scored a goal against the run of play from a corner in injury time. Second half was fairly even with neither team creating much in the way of chances and Stirling scored from another poorly defended set piece, although the guy did well with the finish. Even at 2-0 down there was no real urgency about the team, we switched to 4-3-3 but all that did was give Stirling control of the midfield and the comeback was never going to happen. We got a goal thanks to the determination of Lee Bryce, he won the ball in the box and despite lying on the ground, he managed to lay it on a plate for Walker. The players didn't appear after the game until about 5.40, so obviously McGlynn was as angry as some of the fans. You have to try and take positives though, no injuries or suspensions being one of those.
  4. It's good that we're getting another striker in, but who is he going to replace? You have to assume it's going to be Weir and the loan signing up front, but will Tade drop out of the team or move into another position? Personally, I think McGlynn will use Tade as an impact sub, his pace and strength could cause havoc for a tiring defence.
  5. Gregory Tade is ok, the crutches were precautionary and he is available for Saturday.
  6. Was it not Zemmama? Number 7 I think, I was really impressed with him. He was the one player that looked like he could make something happen for Hibs. Some shot on him as well.
  7. I think if he had tried to square it then the no.5 would have blocked it, if I was Tade I would have hit that as well It's good to see Williamson getting into these positions despite being played on the wing, hopefully he can carry this form into competitive games.
  8. Another picture of when the floodlights were coming back on and the rain was lashing down.
  9. I've just noticed that he's actually arranging his wall in that picture He must not have noticed how dark it just got all of a sudden.
  10. How fun was that Matched Hibs all over the park in the first half and score a well worked goal, fairly entertaining game of football. Then the teams came out for the second half to torrential rain and lightning, play for a few minutes and then... Darkness Then the rain really starting coming down, it got to the point where you couldn't even see the other stand and the water was starting to leak through the roof. I wouldn't say it was the heaviest rain I've ever seen but it wasn't far off. Then you add the lightning and worryingly loud thunder into the equation, I think we all knew the players wouldn't be reappearing. The floodlights were slowly coming on one light at a time and the rain was starting to ease off when it was announced that the ref had called it off, but there's no doubt the pitch would have been unplayable. Good fun though
  11. I don't know what it's like in Glenrothes but it's barely spitting through here, we had some showers earlier but nothing to worry about, the game will be on.
  12. We'll probably play our strongest squad and so will Hibs. I can't see us losing 4-0 like the townies but it's going to be a very hard game, I'll say 3-1 to Hibs, with Tade getting our goal. Hopefully they bring a good crowd through and it's an enjoyable match.
  13. It's true. Couple of good signings, especially Murray as he can play in any of the back 4 positions, now all we need is to do is get a striker in on loan and we're ready for the first division
  14. I was told last night that we'll be playing a trialist at centre back on Saturday and I assumed the worst, thank goodness I was wrong
  15. Two More Signings Planned By Rovers RAITH ROVERS manager John McGlynn plans just two more signings to prepare his side for life in the first division. Having already snapped up Gregory Tade, Darren Smith and Iain Williamson, financial constraints mean McGlynn has scope only to add a further couple of bodies—a central defender and centre forward—to the squad. If Marvin Andrews decides to re-sign that'll be the first vacancy filled. It's likely Raith will utilise a loan option to address the other. "We're not going to have a big squad, we don't have the finance for that," said McGlynn. "But in addition to making another two signings we'll be looking to youngsters like Craig Wedderburn, Lee Byrne and Mark Whatley to make a contribution. They'll have an opportunity to fight for first-team places. "Marvin still hasn't decided what he is doing but we'll give him as long as he needs. "It's wouldn't be a concern that he's not taking part in pre-season training with us. Having played World Cup qualifiers with Trinidad and Tobago in June he'll be fit enough and if anything what he's be needing just now is a break. "As far as getting another striker is concerned I've almost made up my mind that'll we'll go down the loan road. "That's something which has worked out well for us before—with David Goodwillie and Kevin Smith—and to be honest what's being pushed in front of me as far as out and out signings is concerned is not what I want. "It may be that we'll have to wait a while to get a loan deal sorted out but I'm relaxed about that because that'll give Gregory and Graham Weir the chance to strike up a partnership in pre-season when we'll also give some of the younger ones their chance." Meanwhile, Raith have, subject to SFA approval, fixed up another friendly. Kilmarnock are now due at Stark's Park on Tuesday, July 28.
  16. All you people who think this is funny, just remember this could mean Airdrie being promoted again
  17. SSN saying that Livi could go into administration at midnight tonight.
  18. Hello B) It's brilliant being back in the first division, I don't share the same pessimistic view of most Rovers fans on here and I think we'll do well next season. Bring on the townies!
