  1. I think Davo is culpable for all 3 Montrose goals. Lets his man drift off him and is caught under the ball for the 1st, lets his man get goal side for the 2nd header and is nutmegged on the line for the 3rd. He had a good game other than that but Man of the match? Nope sorry Davo. Thought Baird is finally looking fit, found yards of space for himself at the end and rightly lambasted Spencer for not passing.
  2. Davo looked like he'd tweaked his hamstring, McGlynn says he had the cold last week and that he did well to last 85 mins. No mention of an injury. On another note we lost 3 goals today in the league, when was the last time we shipped 3 with a back 3 central defence? Or in other words, why did he (McGlynn) change it?
  3. Would from a footballing point been excellent, but sadly we couldn't/wouldn't get him due to Clyde already agreeing to pay him somewhere in excess of £999 a week for the next 3 years.
  4. Jao is on £1000 for a hat trick tomorrow against Airdrie..................from Sim & Clark
  5. No Spencer or Armstrong (unless the gaffer is at it!) and now no Victoria, the Jao experiment has been a bust! Back to 7 missing (Allan, Anderson, Armstrong, McGurn, Spencer, Vaughan, Victoria,) tomorrow unless the Jao replacement is in place.
  6. Yeah He will likely be unavailable to them against the parent club (as was Vaughan at Dumbarton), it's a standard agreement for loans, mind you it is the Rovers so..... Listening to McGlynn interview, 2 players on trial, another one lined up as a loan and another "from left field" I wonder if with Miller coming available yesterday it is him after all. When asked at the AGM about Gullan, Stevie MacDonald did say that "we've not been told he's not coming back yet" he also added that it could depend on Hibs signing 1 or both of their targets.
  7. I doubt Airdrie or Falkirk are looking for a striker, both are well equipped in forward players. Airdrie I think would rather sign an attacking midfielder and Falkirk would prefer a decent defender. I doubt there's many strikers in Scotland to suit our needs just now and I too doubt there would be any willing to come North for all we have to offer. Get get it done! Get on with it and sign Carrick from Airdrie (Forfar tried) and the lad at Queens Park.
  8. From what we've seen so far Victoria only wants to attack and doesn't seem as keen on coming back to defend, that's why Gullan has been preferred. Kenny Miller won't be the type to get back and defend either. If Gullan isn't returning he needs replaced with a similar type of forward.
  9. For a simple and reasonably priced bar lunch if coming down by train or bus then the Novar bar is the nearest best option, followed by the Dutches. If your happy with a pub chain type place there’s a Wotherspoons, The Exchequer and O’Connells do food too. Further along the high street 3 Indian restaurants do lunch deal (I’d opt for the Annapurna). If you coming by car then there are a rake of good options on the road in from the north side of town. the Diningroom, the Elbow room, Strathearn hotel and the Path Tavern are all good.
  10. We did find out through media, social media and there been none of that either. I think St Johnstone would have mentioned it though, fanfare for the leaving of a cup winning goalscorer type of thing. Even Rovers mostly thank players for their services when they go.
  11. We have not (to the best of my knowledge) offered him a new contract with us, the only contract Anderson has with us is or was as a loan player and as such he remains an employee of St Johnstone FC until his contract with them expires in June. It is highly unlikely we would or even could offer him any contract until his existing contract expires (or is terminated by mutual agreement) as all contracts are subject to SFA/SFL registration. With that in mind it is also unlikely that St Johnstone would have terminated any contract as they would have to negotiate a release with the player and there has been no news posted in the media to suggest this has actually happened either by us, them or the player himself.
  12. If we move the ball and play like we did 1st half at Methil or in spells at Livvi then Montrose (or anyone else)won't be able to live with us, play like we did at Forfar and we could well get done over. It'll greatly depend on what Raith side shows up.
  13. Depends on the contract. This does happen in other sports though, Ice Hockey players are "gassed" by termination mid contract if they aren't cutting it. Although this isn't form but injury the concepts the same. From a strictly financial point in order not to continue to make a deficit we absolutely need to get out of this league, even repeating last seasons vastly reduced loss (£200,000 in case you missed it) will not be aided by holding on to and paying a player who it is expected won't return to training (not playing you will note) until April. That, IMO s not a viable option IF his wage can be better employed elsewhere. Having Anderson on hand to pass on his experience and advise is lovely but of absolutely no use once they cross the white line, it's bodies on the park we need......and IMO preferably one who can find the net with regularity. To this extent I would go with the defence we have and blow our funds on someone who is a proven scorer at this level, Davo, Bene & McKay may not be perfect but they should be adequate for this league and if one is out you if necessary can bring in Mendy or simply revert to a back 4. I'd prefer to bring in a spare fullback, if MacDonald gets an injury we are in soapy bubble.
  14. We have a long and impoverishing history of continuing to pay the wages and issue new contracts to players who are injured with little or no chance of returning/contributing much before seasons end, I wouldn’t be surprised if we continue to pay for SAndo even if he is extremely unlikely to regain fitness before the last 2 games, harsh as it’ll sounds the best option here is if the contract is terminated and we can bring in someone else. McGurn, Barr (x3), Vaughan and Thomson are good examples of the clubs previous (and ongoing) benevolence with as far as I know Callum Elliot (who had allegedly bee informed by a surgeon his injury was career ending) being the only player we released when injured. Having a good name in football circles for looking after players welfare is all well and good but has surely been a contributing factor in ongoing financial losses.
  15. Might have been the most financially rewarding of the 3 options though.
  16. Bullet dodged in any case. as for Lavvi, good enough for em.
  17. Laugh it up chump, your team was pish, if that the standard of the SPL, we as a country football wise are in a sorry state. If the rest of the league kick on Lavvi will be relegated and deservedly so. Pish team with a tinpot set up and no support, hope your next cash crisis will be the end of it.
  18. More than held our own against the 5th best team in the land for 77 mins before The SFA decided things had to change in favour of the wee team. f**k Ferranti Thistle! Hope they draw Ayr away next and Ayr put them out!
  19. As long as it isn't Henry or McDonald I will be reasonably happy. If it's a keeper we have cover, a RB we are covered, a centre back we have cover, a central midfielder covered, a winger we are a bit thin on but a striker we can cover the roll if a bit limited in options. I think it's Granty [emoji848]
  20. You could get yer wish but surely that'd cost a mint! Is a long lucrative contract with the associated financial pressure worth it? Even if it was only for half those years?
  21. Munro Miller Mckay Davo Bene Macdonald Matthews Tait, Hendry Baird, Anderson Hard fought 2-0 defeat , Dykes hat-trick.
  22. No I was thinking of attackers, although I had heard that a certain member of the Raith board was very keen to bring Cal back too.
  23. The problem being I think that 2 of the main targets have been taken the table.
