  1. That's given me a lump in my throat. I think it's my tea coming back up!
  2. Alternatively imagine going into Feb with a deal done for Bowie (but retained until May), a new proven goalscorer and Allan still to come back before seasons end. Come on Rent's try looking at the half full glass and not the half empty one. Personally I don't see Bowie going anywhere in this window but I do reckon we will see Gullan back and a striker coming in, also we may as well speculate on Allan coming back in as not as nobody knows what the score with him is. I know we aren't the luckiest of outfits but I don't think we will arrive looking down the barrel February with a negative triple whammy.
  3. It's obviously because we are the more interesting older brother. It's a simple sibling jealousy syndrome type of thing.
  4. I'm sure £400k was for the 1st season we came down from the Championship, last year the accounts just published show that was cut to £200k. Perhaps you are thinking of the £600,000 which was the total figure. Who says we are still losing money? Perhaps we are not and perhaps we still are but I'd expect after the cuts to budgets last year I doubt it'll be to the same extent as last season (£200,000), truth is shareholders won't know if we are still losing money until the next set of accounts are published for the current season.
  5. You mean the son? Roy of the Rovers made his 1st team debut as a 16 yr old in 1955, he's 80 now. Mind you he was still player manager in the English Premiership when he was in his late 50's.
  6. Well if it's not going to be Sutherland then surely it needs to be somebody else. That could be; Graham, Henderson, Shepherd, Court or Panayiotou and I'm not saying for a minute I am wanting or not wanting any of them but I feel we will need someone in that role. I'm really starting to wonder if the problem with Lewis Allan is so serious that it it will rule him out for the season...or worse!
  7. He was released for a small fee as Airdrie wanted rid, perhaps Nat was part of the deal. I'm sure Airdrie fans said at the time they had a surplus of left backs and with Adam Eckersley coming in they were getting a far better player, also some nonsense talk that McDonald didn't have the ability to put in a decent cross
  8. You do realise he's from Fife but not the full shilling (EFFC fan), as I said I don't condone it.
  9. You think so wee man? I said I don't condone it but you minks fat Methil are obviously a different breed.
  10. Don't condone spitting in a football game in any circumstances. That has no bearing on my earlier comment that's been quoted by some Loonies. Watched him for 2 seasons now and McCallum is an absolute weapon and has been even more so for the last 3 games against us with his demeanour to the fans, I don't condone spitting but if he was, then he should have reported it to the match official at the time. I wouldn't be upset should he meet a fan on the streets one day and gets lamped as from what I've seen of the arsehole he'd fully deserve it.
  11. Meh! Far too many poor or misplaced passes, didn't get to grips quick enough with what they were all about up front early on. Thought we shaded possession and might have done enough to win it but as we have in the past could very easily have lost it altogether late on, thankfully we seem tougher than that now. Thought Matthews for Spencer was about right as Spenny has been aff it for weeks (since his new deal??) but to be honest Hendry is playing some piss poor passes too, Tait's a gem but should have scored at least 1. Ando was fairly poor too. Few rough passes from Davo, Bene and Watson but nothing to get overly used about although the marking in the run up to the goal was fairly horrid. McCallum continues to be an absolute tool, nothing changes there and long may he stay in Angus (once a twat always a twat!).
  12. Cool I'll sign up for that, if you can throw in a few red cards too that'd be lovely.
  13. Point 1, I disagree, I believe a striker is of critical importance, incidentally what makes you think Allan is pending a return, I've seen nothing to suggest that and tbh even if he does I'm not of the opinion he is the goal threat we need to secure promotion. Point 2, Financial prudence is important of course but not risking for only a potential play off spot is no use, particularly if the challenge goes to the wire as we've seen (with Ayr and Alloa) how badly that can go, to be honest I'd doubt the team would handle it this time either. Some might think we are well placed because we are currently top scorers in the league but where would we be without Gullan top scorer on 9 goals? He'd be a huge miss and would surely have to be replaced to maintain any sort of challenge, on the other hand just imagine where we could be placed now if we had an available striker who's capable of what we've seen Vaughan, Nisbet, Goodwille or even Carrick and McManus have achieved in this league. I'm not suggesting we break the bank but merely find middle ground.
  14. I think when J McG said "The parent club will be weighing up where they want their player to go" and "it may come down to finance, other clubs may be able to pay more money" suggest that we aren't looking at signing anyone on a permanent deal. My take on that interview was that McGlynn's only really talking about loan players.
  15. I agree it does seem a bit necessary but perhaps Livvi (like Ross County) now operate a pre-sold ticket only entry system or like Clyde don't deal with cash at the turnstiles. Fewer and fewer clubs seem to be prepared to trust their turnstile operators with readies these days even if it means reduced gates as the hassle puts some folks off attending, it's their call I suppose. After missing kick off in the long queue for a ticket to get into Easter Rd a years or so ago I think I'll head down to our office and get mine in advance.
  16. Utter tosh! Like Rovers_Lad I was only 20 yards away and had an excellent view, it was barely a foul the Peterhead player ran into Watson, if anything it was clumsiness from Boyle although I freely admit Watson may no real effort to get out of the guys way, do you think he should have? An "after you Claude" gesture thrown in perhaps?
  17. Sorry I meant to write opposing not attacking, given that your left back ran into our right back the point still remains it was accidental.
  18. Pick up McInally and take him with you on your upcoming trip to Specsavers, you both clearly need prescriptions. I was middle to left of the south stand and it was a clash nothing more or less and to be brutally honest if anything the attacking player ran into Watson. There was certainly no suggestion of a forearm smash (as described elsewhere), that is pure and utter fantasy.
  19. Aye well hopefully yous'll keep yer heads above water next season too when the Craw leads you to relegation.
  20. To increase revenue from cup runs it has to be in the Scottish as the TCW cup would only net about £20k even if we were to win it. Lose against Partick and if there's 2000 at the game (unlikely) and we get prize money of about £12k and a share of the gate maybe £6-7k? I agree with you, last season I'd reckon we would have had an increase of £300,000 to £350,000 had we been in the Championship, so we might have still made a loss but it would have been a lot more manageable. Talking of prize money if Arbroath can manage to finish above 8th they will rake in nearer to double what they got as Champions of L1, sitting pretty.
  21. Only Grant and Davo have the ability to time a header in this squad. 5-1 at half time wouldn't have been a surprise. Soft yellows all round, very poor ref!
  22. McKay turns into the challenge, I think that's the issue although still not a yellow card......harsh!
