  1. Lone Survivor: Was recommended this by a work colleague, and another "based on a true story" afghan war film. Mark Wahlberg plays a us marine along with 5 or 6 others who go on Operation Red Wing deep into The afghan mountains to identify (and presumably wipe out) a terrorist leader. But shit goes south and they're set about by swarms of terrorists. Excellent action scenes, would watch again. 8/10
  2. Kong: Skull Island. 6/10 Enjoyed the other Monsters involved, and the story flipping a bit involving Sam L's character but I was a bit underwhelmed. Not enough Kong in it but a quality fight scene near the end involving him. The Boss Baby. 7.5/10 Watched this with the family and a few wee daft laugh out loud moments, good fun and good patter by Baldwin.
  3. As much as I'd love Arbroath to have got the points as I took them at 14\1 to win the league before the season started, You have a point. If they didnt score more goals, they didnt deserve to win.
  4. On a lighter note this dryer weather means the wee fella just wants the back door left open and out the back all the time, I don't mind but my tools I. The shed seem to be getting less and less......
  5. Aye right then. I think I'd know if something that big had happened.
  6. Hacksaw Ridge. I'm not really a massive fan of war films tbh and only put this on to see the quality of the copy. Before I knew it I was an hour in and wasn't stopping anytime soon. A really cracking story, excellent battle scenes and a sterling Vince Vaughn performance. 8/10
  7. On Tuesday night I watched : Patriots Day: Believe it or not, I didn't actually know the Boston marathon bombings was a real event, I never watch the news, don't read newspapers and if it was mentioned in work, then I obviously wasn't paying much attention as I have the memory of a sponge at the best of times, but anyway.... Thoroughly enjoyed this film, I really like Mark Wahlberg but he annoyed me in this film for some reason. I get the NEED for Hollywood to have a main hero, I really do, but I was more entranced in the story and the subsequent chase of the terrorists. The use of the actual CCTV of the bombers is very good as well, esp the kidnapping and the actual 911 call from the Chinese fella. The last 10 mins when they show the real people involved was very interesting also. 8/10 - will watch again.
  8. I've still got 4 new episodes to watch on my recorded stuff and I've got absolutely no desire to go and view them. I binge watched seasons 1 to 4 and was absolutely hooked, watched the seasons since when they've been aired weekly in the UK but its at the point now they've absolutely lost the grip this show once had. There's nothing that shocks anymore and even the main story lines are, well, "meh".
  9. Moana: The Mrs was back shift at the weekend so what better way to amuse 2 children than Disneys latest release. Usual heroine themed story, with magic and singing, really enjoyed it and the Rock voicing the main male in it. 7/10
  10. Midnight Express. Since people were mentioning favorite ever films, I went and watched mines again. Absolutely incredible film about William Hayes attempt to smuggle hash, and subsequent time in jail. 10/10
  11. Halfway through season 3 at the moment and can only echo whats been said before, its absolutely first class. I can't believe I hadn't watched it before or even seen this thread. I enjoyed the original CSI, Criminal Minds and the mentalist but this tops them all. Excellent stuff
  12. Just as a wee side note there's a new program on the same channel, started on Monday, "Rusty Rivets". At least that's something that won't annoy me for the next month I haven't seen 100+ times.
  13. I absolutely cannot wait for the episode where he's trapped in a house fire but sams too busy out rescuing his brothers cat (again)
  14. How lax is the attitude towards fire safety and prevention in the fireman Sam village of Pontypandy. My 2 year old loves it and ive seen all the episodes multiple times, but every time there's an emergency its always the same people causing them with their care free attitude towards health and safety. There's tonight for example, the local handyman got a call to come and fix a washing machine at Dillys' house that the horrible b*****d Norman Price broke. The handyman was so excited about this that he sat the electric iron he was using at the time ON TOP of the clothing he was ironing at the time and ran out!!!! Absolute fucking weapon.
  15. Tbh I was the same wiping his face after every spoonful when he was in the high chair, but he just gets left til after he's ate his own now and gets pressure washed out the back.
  16. I know the feeling, my YOUNGEST was 2 in January, frightening. At least he just hits me back and we know he's a rocket, my 9 year old knows everything and says I'm the rocket [emoji19] . It was also spaghetti and toast for lunch today....certainly cheered me up on my lunch break....
  17. Really enjoyed this. I thought 4 main plates at a buffet was greed!!
  18. Dumb and dumber to: I watched this with my 9 year old wee girl after watching the original with her the night before. The original is a funny quirky silly laugh out loud comedy and that showed with the wee girl constantly laughing. The sequel however we had to put off halfway through, when even the 9 year old said "dad they're acting too stupid". This was quickly put off and never spoken of again. 1/10.
  19. After a quick Google... The previous 'triple-punishment' rule meant that a player who denied a goal-scoring opportunity was automatically red-carded and handed a suspension, as well as giving away a penalty. However, the law has now changed so that players committing accidental fouls, that deny a goal-scoring opportunity, are not automatically sent off, but cautioned instead. HTH.
  20. Is it not that double jeopardy rule now where its not a red AND a penalty or is that only when the keeper commits a foul in the box??
