Ended up cleaning up a couple of remaining side missions earlier, the fcking rockbreakers in the quarry man, easily the hardest machines in the game. Anyway, even though the main story was well written, is there not a fairly obvious plot hole in the epilogue

Watched the end of the Paderborn game, some absolute top class WUM stuff from Osnabrueck who had nothing to play for but still timewasted and took the ball to the corner. Kris Doolan and Mark Roberts spent a grand total of 15 minutes on the pitch together for Thistle, Doolan made his debut at Inverness on 10th January and Roberts left us for Ayr on 30th January, making his debut the following day. I guess he was with us on trial for a bit beforehand and Roberts made an impression then. Good that he didn't just pick the current team though.

Anyone ever sold an old phone handset online to one of these recycle companies i.e. not selling on ebay or gumtree? If so, are they decent to deal with or do they f**k around with payment delays or try and haggle you down?

I think this is probably part of the reason we're interested in him. A 3rd out and out centre forward might be a bit much when we play with one central striker a lot of the time whereas if he can play on the wing as well as up front then that's a benefit. I'm still in the headless chicken camp with him but I've seen very little of united this season and another season of FT football might have improved him.

Just finished the main story, think that'll do me for this game, thought it was very good but not one I've got the urge to play to 100%. Few things annoyed me that are common to this type of open world game- the jumping about in the dark in the ruins in the main story quests trying to find the way forward or out without retracing your steps a million times in almost identical rooms, and related to that the endless parkour climbs. Also, it's too easy to get the best gear, well before the last few quests I had all the top weapons / outfits / mods and several thousand shards burning a hole in my pocket with nothing to spend it on apart from topping up health potions because I was too lazy to brew them. Linking that back, part of the reason I don't feel like collecting the rest of the cups / metal flowers is the "financial" reward for them is piss poor. Thumbs up for the main story though, excellently done and with a very obvious setup for a sequel in the post-credits scene. Also agree that battering things with tearblaster or the equivalent arrows then making it commit suicide via tripwires is great fun.

Were you not thinking of converting the Jailend back to terracing a while back?

Lindsay signed an extension in October to 2019 which presumably has a release clause in it already given the attention he would have been starting to attract at that point.

Kinda hoping the conversation goes "Alan, can you work with Tim Sherwood?" "Does that involve being able to punch him in the face whenever I want? "No" "Nah, you're alright" I think he might go this summer, as much as he's talked up -rightly- the new training ground and the stability at Firhill, he must have in the back of his head that it's going to be hard to get top 6 every year and if we have a bad run of injuries on top of our usual not starting to play until October (which tbf should mainly be on him) and end up marooned at the bottom at Christmas then his stock might fall through the floor. Not sure this is the one to go to though.

Just got pulled back into this, wasn't quite at the stage of chucking it but was just going to fire through the main story quests however will keep going in my current mode. Even if it means I forget who half the characters are. I do feel the combat is a bit samey despite the variety of machines, find it a bit odd there's no shield or block, not that it would do much good when a Snapmaw tries to belt you with its tail mind you but thought it might be an addition in combat vs humans. Also the cover system, aye you're 50 feet up a mountain standing behind a rock but a machine will hunt you down in seconds. Kneeling down in 2 foot high grass- invisible. Still very good though. Done all the tallnecks so the map has opened up and just completed the Maker's End quest in the main story.

Also, does anyone have a positive experience of selling their old handset online or am I best taking it to a shop?

So I eventually got this sorted and new phone (UMI Z) arrived Saturday. Overall I'd say it's positive, I like the screen size and weight and the lack of bloatware on it is obviously good. Few downsides: The fast charging isn't very fast at all even with the USB-C cable in the mains, I very much doubt you could get a full day's use out of 30 minutes as advertised. The battery life does seem a bit better at first glance but obviously early days yet. Also it heats up like a toastie, could be handy in winter I suppose. The touch screen doesn't seem 100% accurate especially near the right edge, couple of times I've had to press a few times to get what I wanted, There's a bug that means you have to use the default SMS app, if you use a 3rd party app like Textra (as I did) or Facebook messenger as your default then texts sent to you just disappear into the ether. Not a deal breaker but the stock app's minimum text size is about 16pt which is ugly. This has been reported. It was a bit of a faff to get notifications turned on when the screen was off and you have to install a launcher (I use Nova) to get rid of the google search bar at the top, get unread "badges" on your icons. That said, it's still well worth it for under £200 if you're not bothered about having an absolute top of the range effort.

I'd imagine every Premiership team outside Celtic (and maybe Aberdeen) will be looking at both Scougall and McNulty who was also let go. I'd be fairly surprised if anyone under contract was allowed to leave by Thistle, unless it's for personal / family reasons for one of the non-Scottish guys. Also, the Thistle fan at the Bankies game was club historian Robert Reid according to twitter.

Enjoying this, only query so far really is the suggested levels for quests (I'm playing on normal difficulty). As with most of these games I normally potter about doing as many side quests as possible and end up slightly over levelled for the main story ones. On this though, I was level 15 doing a main story quest with suggested level 12. Yet I had to take out 2 x level 23 corrupted glinthawks, and 1 level 23 corrupted fire bellowback. The glinthawks were a massive notch up in difficulty due to their rapid movement and if they hit you they took about 80% of your health in one blow. Took just about all of my good ammo and health potions to get past that one. Same with the first cauldron I came to, suggested level 8 thinking this would be a piece of piss and this time a level 18 fire bellowback at the end. I get that enemies generally level up as you go along but are they scaled up if you're over-levelled?
