  1. Guess it has to be something along these lines in that it’s cheaper to pay Cullen to be our 3rd choice keeper and Gallacher to be a coach rather than Gallacher as player coach, or he must have looked really dire in training over the last few months. He’d presumably get even less game time at Hearts than he would at us but I’m sure the extra wages will probably compensate.
  2. Penrice has also signed an extension taking him up to 2018, I'd be fairly surprised if he doesn't go on loan for at least part of next season. No word on any of the first team guys yet...
  3. And Welsh is shi 'ite. I see all the u20 players offered deals have signed them.
  4. Surely the north stand is the wee-er stand? *tumbleweed.gif*
  5. ^^^ that guy Would also guess any pre season games will be out the way before the LC starts on the 16th July <<< also that guy edit: if it's 9th July that's a Saturday. Could be good.
  6. Bottom half of 2nd division in the season just finished, they are one of Germany's yo-yo / elevator clubs who have had an incredible amount of promotions and relegations from 1st to 3rd tier in a short space of time. Duisburg's late revival seems to have been in vain as they're 3-1 down with 45 minutes of the second leg to play and need 3 goals without conceding.
  7. Motherwell love an ex player too. Said a couple of weeks ago re Higgy, he's pretty much had 2.5/3 meh seasons at this level plus a similar spell with motherwell. If you could guarantee you'd get the Higgy of Feb - may 2014 you'd take him in an instant but that's looking more like a blip than anything else.
  8. Stop riding the horse everywhere as well, much more fun to be had exploring that way plus the horse controls aren't great.
  9. I think they would have replaced at least 2 of the 3 ex thistle players they currently have if they had came up, and they've got a bit of cash behind them. Killie on the other hand are in a worse position financially, and I think they'll be similar next year on the park , so that combined with the better away day of the 2 means it's probably decent they stayed up.
  10. The first chapter / act in White Orchard is a bit overly guided and heavy on tutorials although you are free to roam, but I'd never played any of the games before so it did help me. When you get to Velen & Novigrad the game really starts to take off as you've got so many more choices.
  11. Very recent (post season) interview with Frans here, although you'll need to fire it through google translate unless you're fluent in Dutch / Flemish. The author does call us Patrick all the way through, sadly Fred talks up the return of the orcs, and this is probably the most relevant bit Think he might be dreaming of that EPL (or even English Championship) move for a while, but doesn't look like we'll get an answer from him straight away.
  12. Always enjoy in test cricket when folk make snap judgements, comments on the BBC site after an hour were "dead slow pitch, England will score loads". Oops.
  13. Think Vince is down to bat at 5, team was confirmed earlier The SL team it does look fairly weak without Sanga and Jaya, think Mathews is the last of the cracking players they've produced in the last 20 years, that's not to say some of these guys won't be, but looking at the squad most of them are reasonably experienced in terms of age if not appearances. edit: you could pick some team from the players I was talking about Jayasuriya Dilshan Sangakkara De Silva Jayawardene Ranatunga © Tillekaratne (wk) Vaas Malinga Murali Mendis
  14. Seems a strange place to try and shave a few quid off the wage bill plus the hassle of getting a new GK coach and / or a 3rd choice keeper if Cullen decides to go elsewhere- tbh Gall must be looking fairly creaky in training if we’re not willing to offer him a playing deal and we’re offering fkng Scully 2 years.
  15. Smurph is normally fairly ITK with Lawless news as he's shagging Lawless's maw so I'm happy to hear this.
  16. aye, he came down from doing the website commentary, had a baseball cap on & the RIP Ricky t-shirt.
  17. The Scully thing (where he by all accounts has signed a deal) is a bit odd- presume they're waiting for a bit of better news so they can sneak it in at the bottom of the article in size 7 font. Assume the 3 dev squad players are too old to be classed as such next season, and a decision had to be made, and I won't accept Duggan is gone until he signs for someone else and has played for them for at least 2 seasons. The management team obviously see something in Wilson but for his own sake it might be best to head elsewhere to actually get a game (4 starts in the last 2 seasons, 2 of which were last day dead rubbers) edit: forgot about Paul Gallacher- I thought he was only under contract for this year, presume he's either under contract for longer, or not classed as a player any more except in emergency as I can't see him moving on.
  18. I think the only outfield players over 30 we've signed since Archie took over were Dowie and Mair as stop gaps in defence and Kerr, of which the least said the better. I wouldn't be surprised to see John Rankin rumoured as well being the same position as Bannigan but I think both would fall into too old & too slow to play the role Bannigan does. Lappin might actually still be chasing Amoo back after the second goal at Firhill vs Saints in February. This time last season (the Monday after the last game, not exact date) we had the following signed up Scully Frans Seaborne Booth Lindsay maybe Hendry, unsure. Bannigan Osman Fraser Elliott Stevenson McDaid Doolan Apart from in central defence we're definitely much stronger this year.
  19. I wonder if Motherwell (or any other Prem club looking for a left back) would be interested in our ex player Aaron Taylor- Sinclair, who’s had a fairly poor 2 years in England, first year played one game in the league cup with Wigan, season just finished relegated with Doncaster- he might still fancy another crack at it down South but if he was coming up the road then I’d imagine he’ll be well sought after despite the last 2 years.
  20. https://twitter.com/scotthughes18/status/730098034491727879 oh well . edit: trying to embed tweet but it's (someone claiming to be) Scully's uncle saying he signed a 2 year deal last week Not sure Fraser has ever been tough tackling even when he is a good form, which is part of the problem, if you play him too deep you get the best of his range of passing but he's not good defensively and gives the ball away in dangerous areas, and if you play him as a #10 he just shoots from anywhere too often.
  21. Was expecting Bannigan to go regardless of injury, and still expect Lawless to move on as well, watched Archie's interview and he seems to think Lawless will go and Frans will stay. Not too fussed about Seaborne, would marginally have kept him ahead of Frans but not much in it. I also wouldn't be averse to taking Aiden Nesbitt on loan again next season, I like the pace he plays at but very inconsistent. Celtic might want him to go somewhere where he starts every week, which probably wouldn't be in this division at the moment. My concern with the squad at the moment is up front. If Doolan gets injured we're relying on Pogba or Kevin Nisbet for goals- don't know if we're going to be looking for another forward.
  22. First Jake Ball to be called up for England since Phil Tufnell etc etc
