Terrible first half from Montrose. It was definitely not a free kick that led to the first goal, but the ball into the box should have been defended better. Montrose were far better in second half, probably should have had more than the one penalty that was given. Unlucky to hit the post and Lewis Milne being unable to do anything with the rebound. Can’t agree with the comment that the ref gave Montrose everything in the second half, it was the worst refereeing performance I have witnessed in a long long time

looking forward to this game, given current form Montrose should easily take the 3 points. Not getting too ahead of myself though, but been really impressed with how we have played so far in the league this season. At least you have a striker, we are still crying out for one!

Good 3 points today. East fife looked to start quickly and seemed to tire after 15 or so minutes and the Mo were fairly comfortable after that. Another great goal from Webby, and dare I say it, could have won by a greater margin if we had a striker to find in the box? East Fife’s number 9 looked decent enough, hopefully his injury isn’t too bad

Ref must have had a draw on his coupon. To hitting the bar to make it 3-0 to fast forward 3 minutes and get a draw was criminal. 2 really soft goals to concede but positives should be taken for how Montrose played for 88 minutes. Waddell was great at the back again and both Masson and Whatley were great in the middle. Never thought I’d say this but Montrose looked far better when CJ came on and troubled the Clyde defence. Still second and still unbeaten but could have been much better. Actually spoke to SP after the game and he would have rather, instead of Masson hitting the bar, his shot had ended up in the bowling green across the road!

He could play through the middle but tbh if that's the plan we would have been better just keeping Russell McLean, he has a better record at this level and I'd imagine he would cost less. I think we planned on keeping Rusty, but he moved on thinking of his wallet

Would be a good backup to Webster and Lyons I think but would prefer an out and out striker first. If true, I’m sure he could play through the middle in league 1

Montrose have been £15 for years and I've rarely seen anything cheaper in this division. Not sure what other teams are charging, Airdrie were £18 last week

If Montrose play as well as they did against Airdrie then I am confident of a win, however we don't always get an easy ride against Clyde.

i'd be tempted to go with "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Is Cammy fit for this weekend? I'd much rather keep CJ on the bench, as much as I get infuriated by Rennie he played well on Saturday, holding the ball up well and bringing others into play

Brilliant performance by all involved today. The Mo mixed it up well, went long when required but played a lot of good football on the deck as well

Maybe a bit of a long shot, is there footage anywhere of Dundee’s last game of season 91/92 against Montrose? was listening to a podcast with Ivo den Bieman today and he referenced the game and it ultimately leading to his move to Dundee. I was at the game as a 13 year old in the Montrose end. Montrose won 2-1 but Dundee has the league trophy presented to them after the final whistle. The highlights were definitely on either Sky or terrestrial TV

Also, what’s everyone’s thoughts on Mcpake’s comments after the game last night? I know the late challenge by Waddell was late, clumsy, unwarranted etc but think it was very unprofessional of McPake to publicly claim Waddell intended to injure the Dundee player

Any word on what’s up with Aiden Quinn? Think he’d struggle for minutes just now given the form of Dillo and Waddell, and with Matty getting game time too, but it’s all been very quiet regarding him
