  1. Longridge forgot which part of his body was supposed to be injured in a dive...
  2. Gotta say that the cocaine anonymous ad on the sidelines is probably a well placed one.
  3. Anniversary of this one below was a week ago, but given the playoff matchup I figured it was worth a post. Hope the streak continues. Hope you enjoyed it, Anaheim is a great place to see a game and the fans are usually friendly to away supporters (except for Kings and Sharks fans). Gonna go to any of the upcoming series? Tickets are pretty cheap for playoffs.
  4. Always liked having a watch and always wanted an old pocket watch but I feel with phones that just looks too much of an attempt to be kitschy. Wear the olive green timex everyday and wear the automatic fossil when I'm out somewhere nice to show everyone how elegant and sophisticated I am... And then get completely and inappropriately plastered hoping I don't get mugged of it.
  5. Why do you hate the Well so much in comparison to a club that has only been around for three years? (Check out my original jokes yuk yuk) Ah, another fever dream.
  6. Anaheim and Chicago have put on a great series. The teams are so equal, but the flow of play has shifted dramatically back and forth throughout. The last game being a perfect example: Anaheim had 3 goals before Chicago had a shot on net. Then Chicago shut Anaheim out in shots for half a period. It would be hard to say either team deserves a Cup shot more, but to me (perhaps with bias) I think Anaheim has been slightly better. They almost could have swept Chicago, the reverse can't be said, and those long OT games just become a waiting match for a garbage goal resulting from tired defenses. Hoping for a Ducks-Lightning final. f**k the original six and fake traditionalists, I want two teams with palm trees outside of the building battling for the Cup.
  7. Sweep for the Ducks. Would favour them against Calgary easily, they haven't won in Anaheim for something silly like a decade, we'll see what happens, though. Hiller will certainly be up for some revenge.
  8. Jagr wraparound against Ottawa. Guy barely shows his age, would be nice if he can squeeze the Panthers into the playoffs. http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=35&id=794734〈=en
  9. Biggest questions for the Ducks going into the playoffs are almost the same as last year. Special teams are dodgy: they're 25th on the PP and 18th on the PK. But coaching is everyone's main concern. This has to be the year in which Bruce Boudreau either proves everyone right or wrong about his playoff coaching ability. The goaltending situation is more optimal this year with Gibson being the clear and deserved starter, but Boudreau's odd choices the last time around make me worry about who is actually going to end up in net.
  10. I feel embarrassed to have hockey jerseys of guys around my age, but this... Damn. Actual content: Chargers are at Qualcomm for at least another year. I think the place is indeed a wreck, so I can only imagine what it's like if you didn't grow up with the place and don't have any fondness or nostalgic feelings for it.They're free to leave again in a year, but all the talk indicates at least one team is moving to LA this off-season. If that happens, I'd feel a whole lot less worried about the Chargers joining that team later.
  11. These two guys should have their jerseys retired opening day Anaheim next season. Selanne is the face of the franchise, Giguere is such a close second. Forget the nostalgia, hope the Ducks learn on Friday how pathetic letting a 4-0 lead become a 4-3 is. Giving Dallas a split as the eighth seed would be unacceptable.
  12. Bobby Ryan should score at least 90 points yearly, but he is just lazy and unfocused so often. He was ready to get out of Anaheim for about two years and publicly admitted to letting media rumors and attention get in the way of playing hockey. So, yeah, he's going to love Canadian hockey coverage.
  13. Play the game in any form if you can, or at least watch one of the HBO 24/7 NHL series. It's the best up-close look of the game and will probably make you appreciate a lot things casual fans don't really extensively think about.
  14. Yeah, it could even get as low as to causing people to have horribly misogynistic convictions...
  15. Never used ticket city, but I've used stubhub a lot in the past and although the prices have gone up since the elimination of seemingly every coupon, they're definitely reliable. A lot of the tickets are instant download and print. If it's your first game try to go for lower bowl tickets. I was always an upper bowl guy until I actually had a bit of money and would find it very hard to go back up. You also can try ebay or the local craigslist ads. Also just wanted to post this gif, because hockey.
  16. Either moving for the puck early or antagonizes the other player. Away team player has to place their stick blade on the ice first, home player follows. Then the puck is dropped. Usually you'll get a warning if you jump it, but I could swear that refs have been much stricter recently and will toss players on the first infraction. The most obnoxiously broken rule when it comes to faceoffs is that wingers are supposed to stay 15 feet from the puck, which is the radius of the faceoff circles in the attacking zones. I don't that EVER happens...
  17. As easy as it is to call Bettman a c**t, which he most certainly is, it's really up to the owners of each team. It's essentially billionaires (owners) arguing with millionaires (most of the players). It's especially productive in terms of making hockeys fans not want to care by reminding them what an atrocious business this is.
  18. Some of these contracts that are being handed out are ridiculous. 6 years/$33 million for Wisniewski 9 years/$60 million for Brad Richards 10 years/$40 million for freaking Christian Ehrhoff And I'm surprised the front loaded contract that Bryzgalov was given was even allowed, it looks they'll have the easy option buy him out or move him in the final three years but will still soften that cap hit for now.
  19. I'm not saying everyone was violent, but that everyone there was there by choice and not caged in. And standing around taking photos of people smashing up cars and windows doesn't exactly help anything. Vancouver is indeed a great city filled with great people, but anyone apart of those mobs didn't have a fully-functioning brain in their head. I think had the Canucks won that night, the number of disorderly people would have been much, much lower.
  20. They had tons of possibilities to make their way out of troubled areas. They were even given instructions on how to do so via loudspeakers (in case they couldn't navigate their hometown), read the riot act (which threatens life imprisonment), and given half an hour to get the f**k away. There isn't too much of an excuse for those who stuck around.
