  1. Given his relationship with Potter and being an ex-player (I use that lightly) there’s a chance he would say yes. And if you don’t ask, you don’t get. He probably would say no, but there are currently no premiership jobs available. He also hasn’t managed at that level and failed with Sunderland.
  2. If the board had any sense they would end the failed Crawford experiment and offer Ross the job immediately.
  3. Gabby McGill and some consultancy, his role still hasn't been fully explained by the board which for a "fan owned" club is poor. Awful decisions all round have been made in the past year or so by a very naive board.
  4. Coley lived in York until he was 16 and then moved to Hertfordshire to play for Hitchin Town, he would have moved to Hitchin before McNamara joined York as manager. He may have played for York U17's, but it's not officially noted down anywhere. We picked Coley up because of Crawford speaking to Neil Adams at Norwich, the loan move had nothing to do with York City or anybody's connection to it.
  5. Exactly. Out of those names I would take Adams and McCall. I’ve absolutely no idea if they would be interested, probably not, but if the time comes and we sack Crawford it would be nice if we actually opened ourselves up to applications this time.
  6. I would expect to see Comrie and Bowman battling for the right back/right wing back role. Martin can also play there if needed and apparently Murray can play anywhere along the back.
  7. There seems to have been a bit of a bidding war for him which can only be a good thing.
  8. I don't think they will either, however they should think about it very carefully. I like Stevie, but I don't have faith in him as a manager.
  9. As soon as we are (hopefully) safe we should open up applications for the job. There is no harm in seeing who applies, I don't hold out much hope for Crawford to turn things around next season if he remains in charge.
  10. If we are signing another midfielder I'm assuming Beadling will be moving back to centre half.
  11. I don't see much difference in quality between Durnan and Morris, except Durnan is a far better goal threat.
  12. I think it more depends on how long his new deal is with Ayr.
  13. Robinson, Longridge, Ashcroft, Durnan and Williamson looks decent enough to me as a starting defence. I think we are forgetting Beadling as well who will be in midfield providing protection to the back four but he can also cover at centre half if needed.
  14. We'll miss his work-rate, but we won't miss his lack of goals and poor decision making.
  15. I was listening to the Roker Report podcast with the new Sunderland owners and it was mentioned that, in the past few seaosns, the youth players were annoyed at being denied the opportunity to go out on loan. With Jack Ross now manager, and Potter a good mate of his, unearthing another Beadling or two on loan could be an option. I think AJ also said he has been speaking to Leeds Utd as well.
  16. He has earned another year. We can assess at the end of the next term whether he is the man to take us forward or not.
  17. Sounds like Gavin Reilly. Sometimes a change of club can reinvigorate a player, let's hope we get a similar result.
