  1. I agree, Martin is worse than Buchanan however I'm sure Martin has at least a year left on his contract and is cheaper than Buchanan so that's fine with me. We will bring in two experienced centre halfs to replace him. All four of them could go as far as I'm concerned however considering Martin is under contract then he has to be kept, he is hardly on a large wage anyways.
  2. Also Buchanan isn't 'good enough' - he has been missing for a considerable amount of time now. We need commanding centre halfs, not ones that disappear when the others aren't performing.
  3. Mullen isn't hopeless at all, he isn't a right back though. Just because his dad played there doesn't mean he can, he has other qualities suited to other roles. I'm not sad that he has been released though, however I do question some fans judgement when they describe someone like Millen as 'hopeless'.
  4. I'm not basing it solely on what Garmory has said. Interesting times ahead, first thing is hiring the right man for the job.
  5. I read it in the Daily Record, however I didn't want to admit I had been reading the Record. Key quote here which is the same given in the Record: I wouldn't pay too much attention to the bookies odds with regards to the new manager either, McPherson is favourite due to the large influx of money that has been recently placed on him. I initially thought Aitken had priced himself out of the job however that may no longer be the case. I'm assuming that the players contracts will run out at the end of May given the fact that the board would have imagined we would have at least made the play-offs.
  6. Interesting quote from Bob Garmory in the paper today concerning the recruitment of a new manager and new players. I'm not surprised it appears the likes of Whittle have been shown the door, he doesn't fit the criteria of the type of player we will be looking to sign when the new manager is in place. Garmory mentioned signing the 'right type of player' therefore of the out of contract players from the first team I would expect only Buchanan and McAusland will be retained with Goodfellow, Millen, Thomson, Page, Urquhart, Paterson, George, Stirling, Smith and Barrowman all not being offered new deals. No idea what their thoughts will be with regards to the U20's however don't expect any of them to be given a first team chance next season.
  7. What Da Baracus said. Also the thread thanking the players for their efforts this season on .Net is ludicrous, and laughable.
  8. Reading into Potter's comments then I assume that we're going to employ Gus MacPherson...
  9. Yes, I have a huge problem with offering Campbell the management job.
  10. Ross Millen is the Justin Skinner of this generation, albeit much younger and less equipped to handle the criticism. Poor lad was scared to turn up to an event recently incase he was booed, he's 20 years old ffs.
  11. Aitken was literally selling himself for a full-time job during his pre-recorded interview with Alba when Stranraer played Morton.
  12. On the subject of Pressley he could well be tempted to apply for the job - he does have some links with the club.
  13. Would receive interesting publicity. First club in the world to reveal their new manager via Snapchat?
  14. Good to know it's black and white and has our badge on it. Rather than releasing tidbits of what we already know can they not just release the kit in full? They photographed it hours ago...
  15. I'm not sure if it was ever released on DVD - it's a VHS tape.
  16. The 1995/1996 season was when I first started watching Dunfermline - I have had a season ticket ever since. What a season that was, the First Division had a number of quality footballers in it during that time. https://youtu.be/eZqwc0ElX88
  17. The board made a mistake offering him the job, they wouldn't be stupid enough to keep him on after the disaster that followed.
  18. Yet people will still vote for them. I'm interested to see ow many votes they actually pick up in this election.
  19. I met Macca at a pub in the Merchant City, very sound guy who spoke to me at length about the Pars.
