  1. Have never been able to drink whisky because of heartburn, even with ice I've still got to go straight for the Rennies, have taken to drinking Whisky sours which are surprisingly refreshing
  2. Does anyone knows if the 48 hour weekend sale applies to the Falkirk online shop as well? Quite keen to buy the strip, not bad at £19
  3. This is just too good, great wee weekend tune, mama do the hump mama do the hump hump
  4. It's just because I know people who used to come home from working in call centres having been shouted at maybe 10-15 times in one day, and even if they were willing to take it, it still wore them down.
  5. But telling a call centre worker to f**k off without letting them explain their call is a poor show, it's not like call centre workers chose to work there so they could personally annoy people.
  6. If you wouldn't tell a stranger to f**k off in the street, why is it ok to tell a stranger to f**k off over the phone before they've even started talking?
  7. I loved the Gazebo as well, one of my fondest memories of the new stadium is the time the Gazebo was rocking when Arnau Riera equalised against Aberdeen to make it 2-2 in a Cup game a few years ago.
  8. Hopefully having cheap tickets for standing would increase attendances and that would re-coup any potential losses from empty seats in the expensive stands. I don't have the first clue whether this would work though. Looking at the Bundesliga and their safe standing terraces I think FFC should move heaven and earth to lobby for safe standing in the East stand, it has the potential to bring a bit of atmosphere back to the stadium and bring back fans who currently can't afford to go to matches. All pie in the sky stuff though.
  9. Have just seen the Rugby League club St Helens have built a new stadium with safe standing in the two goal stands, the BBC website has an album of pictures of the new stadium (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-league/16945808) I think it would look great in the East Stand.

  11. I'd say it's a book you can dip in and out of, it's not an economics book, more of a series of case studies of companies that are co-operatively owned. There are a lot of interviews with people who support the co-operative model and a few short chapters on the evidence for the economic benefits of co-operative ownership and the consequent benefits for the welfare of workers. I'd highly recommend it.
  12. "Beyond the Corporation" - David Erdal A public interest book written about the benefits of co-operative ownership by the man who turned Tullis Russell, the papermakers in Glenrothes, into a co-operative business. Looks at the economic benefits of co-operative ownership in businesses such as John Lewis and Mondragon in Spain. The book argues that the generic business model that currently goes unquestioned is inherently flawed for creating long term economic progress. 8/10
  13. This is what Scottish football has come to, a half empty stadium watching a bunch of girls doing an experimental dance routines. Christ on a bike.
  14. Did anyone see in the Scotsman rumour mill section today that Falkirk have applied to be promoted to the SPL as Runners Up if Rangers go into liquidation? http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/top-football-stories/the-rumour-mill-thursday-s-football-news-and-gossip-1-2175629
  15. Let's hope County have hit a dip - 9 games left with the gap sitting at 8 points, mon the bairns!
  16. Cycling up hill into wind is a pain in the arse, and its how I start every day. Thinking of splashing out on a fancy bike but you could almost get a car for the price of posh bikes these days.
  17. Just thinking, would it be a good idea for Womens football league games to take place on Saturdays just after 3pm games? Surely this would mean the attendances would be much higher with people who just decide to stay on and watch another game of football.
