  1. Sam Cooke - A change is gonna come. One of the greatest soul songs ever i think, true raw talent and the lyrics are brilliant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQU4torUz-Q
  2. The Clash playing live at the old Kinema ballroom in Dunfermline! (now Velocity) God bless youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZtQo7XrG2E&feature=fvw
  3. Who shot the Sheriff? - Alan Miles 9/10 Not a movie but think its still worth putting on here. Great comprehensive documentary of how the "Rock Against Racism" movement developed in the 70s in response to the growth of the National Front and sparked by Eric Clapton's infamous "I agree with Enoch" speech. Brilliant music, brilliant interviews, just an overall well made interesting documentary.
  4. This is England - Shane Meadows. 9/10 Watched it for the second time tonight and it really is a fantastically made film. Says a lot about modern Britain and how patriotism has changed in the 21st century. Portrays how racism has developed in Britain as well, says a lot about how groups like the NF and the BNP appeal to the disillusioned of society.
  5. People who pour the milk into the cup of tea when the teabag is still in it.
  6. Explosions in the sky - really nice chilled sort of Sigur Ros style music, enjoy
  7. Jackson Browne - For a Dancer The lyrics in this song are just beautiful.
  8. Proddy dogs and papes - The Mick West Band
  9. Was walking down the street today and saw a massive seagull shite land right beside me and sighed in relief at not gettin a direct hit. Just arrived home and realised I walked all the way home with a big splodge of white and brown shite right down the arm of my black jacket. Also Falkirk might get basically relegated on Wednesday, god help us all.
  10. I've just started trying to have a 15 minute jog everyday in the hope of improving general fitness - but I hear a lot of people saying that jogging on pavement badly affects your leg joints, is it better to just jog on treadmills?
  11. I'm trying to get rid of my beer belly. Any tips?
  12. Y tu mama tambien (And your mother too) - Alfonso Cuaron (2001) - 8/10 Spanish film based in Mexico. Great coming of age tale of two middle class teenage guys in Mexico City who meet an older girl at a party and invite her on a road trip to a secret beach. Really enjoyed it, great film to just chill to with a beer.
  13. The Edukators - Hans Weingartner (2004) German film based on the story of three people in their 20s working in dead end jobs who decide to attack the rich establishment. They do this by breaking into their houses and moving around all their furniture, but not stealing anything. Really fantastic movie, makes you think about anti-capitalism and basically the human spirit. It should be easy to get hold of online, can get it for like £3 in Fopp.
  14. The Pianist (2002) - Roman Polanski - 9/10 Absolutely unforgettable film. Based on a true story about a Jewish pianist who escapes the Nazi's when the Jewish population were rounded up in Warsaw. Would highly recommend it. Adrien Brody's acting is really impressive as well.
  15. Can anyone tell me the reggae song St Johnstone play for kick off, the fans clap along to the wee bit with 4 beats in succession. Ta.
  16. Adrian Mole Diaries: The Prostrate Years - Sue Townsend In a word, fantastic. I first picked up the first diary by chance in a shop when I was about 14 and instantly fell in love with the character. Sue Townsend has a great ability of making humour out of everyday situations and effectively portraying how the little tragedies of life can affect us all. I actually now feel I know Adrian Mole better than some of my pals! Great book, can't put it down, hilarious in parts and tragic in others.
