  1. Brechin and Forfar down, Elgin and Annan up. Berwick down, Cove Rangers up. Would be great for the easy away day travelling.
  2. We'd probably need wholesale changes in the board before Dick would be considered.
  3. This is gold. 'The Arbroath Way' 'Jim Jefferies' 'Dick Campbell would bite our boards hand off' Poe's law in action. It's easy to make a knee-jerk reaction on a manager. 80% of the time he's going to be sacked so you can eventually say 'I told you so'
  4. The goal difference is like an extra point, lads. Nothing to worry about.
  5. I'm sure Dick would have jumped at that. 'Come and work for us, but know that, if you don't win all your games, you'll be replaced'
  6. The ones that shout loudest about having a team of local players are likely the ones that would desert us first if those local lads took us down to the Highland League.
  7. He's 20 years old and had over a season and a half to show he was good enough. The one time we really needed him to be counted, he let us down.
  8. He's at college. Always complaining about some creepy arsehole staring at him.
  9. Whatley has really upped his game the last couple of weeks, tbf. He'd hardly kicked a ball for us since the Stirling debacle until last week.
  10. Not the worst idea, could probably get some Junior teams involved too.
  11. More than decent for us. Wish we could've got him signed up to add a bit of depth.
  12. Seeing as the board are in a '2 year deal' kind of mood, I think it's time to get Ricky locked in.
  13. Aye, have a good one folks (and a better boxing day)
  14. Hester was upfront on his own when he came on. Ryan was playing off him. He's not going to bully defenders but he'll do the hard running that a lone striker has to do. Definitely has to be in the running for a start now.
  15. That's still only one window, and he had to replace around a dozen players which can always be hit or miss (mainly miss in Lumsden's case). My worry would be, if we got rid of Lumsden, while it could be justified, the same thing is just going to happen with the next manager.
  16. On the other hand, it's not as if he's had an easy job.
  17. I think, compared to other teams and Arbroath sides of previous seasons, there is a significantly more substantial drop in level when we go beyond our starting 11. Except for our striking options and that is because all of our striking options are a bit weak. In addition to this, the best players we have for covering injuries to certain positions are already playing in other positions (Watson at Right-back would be our best cover for centre-back, Whatley at Centre-mid would be best cover for Full-backs, Linn is arguably the best striker on our books)
  18. Ok Jose. Getting near impossible to defend Lumsden now. We started the season with 2 horrendous performances but the following 2 we showed improvement even if we never got the results. Then we started getting results with a run of 5 wins from 6. It's really how we perform having built that platform that Lumsden should be rated and it's not looking like it'll be a success. We've played 1 good half in the last 3 games and the performance in the other 5 halves have been pretty dreadful. I think there are a couple of key areas where we're weak; Strikers - We have Grehan, Rutherford, Victoria and Hester. Grehan has been ok without being prolific (Ryan was better but again didn't score enough) but it shows the confidence Lumsden has in the rest when he'll play Linn up top before any of the others. I think Hester is a bit too raw, so can see why he gets only cameos. Victoria just seems a bizarre one. Scores in trial game then has barely appeared other than the Forfarshire cup (where he played well). If Lumsden did go, I wouldn't be surprised to see Joao play more. Squad depth - One or two injuries and we're struggling, regardless of position. Not looking forward to next week with Little and potentially Johnstone missing.
  19. I remember Wilson when he was at Raith. I'm hoping it's just a slow start but he's an absolute shadow of that player. We were so vulnerable there until Watson came in.
  20. It's like they've purposely tried to take a picture that makes the ground look as shitty as possible.
  21. Overloaded with midfielders and short up-top? Sounds like a job for this man;
