  1. What can we (AFC Wimbledon) expect from Chris Robertson? I presume he has slipped down the pecking order hence his release and subsequent signing for AFCW? Be interesting to see how he copes with League 1 which is possibly equivalent to the bottom half of the SPL? I'm assuming he's not the quickest but a no-nonsense 'old school' centre-half? Thanks in advance and good luck for the rest of the season.
  2. Surprised that the likes of policing and stewarding costs are not deducted before the money is shared. Are these costs just absorbed by the home club then? Agree on attendance, though it may be over 30K with it being after the main holiday season. Might be more money to the club than I initially thought then. Agree with others on here, that it is depressing that we are even contemplating the money to be made and not the likelihood of winning the competition.
  3. Imagine that policing and stewarding expenses are very high at Mordor. Unlikely to be a really big crowd either with so many games around this time of year. I imagine if we clear six figures we'll be doing well. Not to be sneezed at, right enough.
  4. Going on some brief highlights, Lyndon Dykes looks like he could be one hell of a player. Shades of Willie Gibson meets the Tin Man? He can also learn a fair bit from the likes of Lyle and Dobbie.
  5. Bit hard on him that Tobermory. He's certainly a player that divides opinion but he has pace and strength. He's nowhere near the quality of Lyle Taylor (who Jags fans will remember) but he has improved since he was signed by Neal Ardley as a "work in progress project ." He wouldn't be on massive money but he was offered a new contract probably on more money than he was on. He'll frustrate the life out of you with his misses and lack of control. One of his biggest failings is between his ears, he lacks instinct and a football brain. Be interesting to see how he does. He always gives 100%.He's no Will Griggs but has the same song. You'll even see him singing it in this clip of the AFC Wimbledon players celebrating promotion after the L2 playoff final.
  6. Derek Adams?! HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA That is all, carry on....
  7. Not worth getting the least bit excited until planning permission is sought to upgrade Palmerston and even then not really excited until the bulldozers are on site. The key to these sort of deals is enabling development and I can't get my head round how Queens can benefit this scheme apart from offering land.
  8. I wouldn't get too carried away. Fenlon was offered a new contract on much lesser terms at AFCW, so no real suprise he turned it down. The lad has some issues but if nurtured correctly, he might do OK. His positional play needs some work, but he's a strong lad with a turn of pace. I'll be watching his progress but this one could go either way. I certainly never expected him to go to a higher club in the English leagues. That is nonsense. I think the guy who made the post is a blogger rather than a journo.
  9. Steve Evans is a fat c**t who deserves absolutely no respect. FACT. END OF.
  10. Be interesting to see how Jim Fenlon gets on. He had plenty of ability at AFC Wimbledon but has some issues that meant he didn't really make the right impression. If he gets the support and is nurtured well and he responds and gets his head down and is able to solely concentrate on his football, he has the potential to do very well. Good luck to him.
  11. Agree completely with this post. Sums up why I gave up supporting the club albeit mainly from afar. I'm not the only one either. Then again, the current incumbents in the Boardroom have already shown they care little for fans.
  12. Absolutely right. The problem is that the Board are not suddenly going to get more proactive. There is a clear lack of leadership and direction as well as a lack of business acumen and longer term planning - that's what needs to change and the only way it will improve is with changes at the top. If the communication from the club improves, that will at least be a small step forward.
  13. Excellent article Yoss and nice avatar too. B) Way off topic - but another win for AFCW against Alty on Saturday - isn't that the team with whom you have family connections? I couldn't make the trip North on Saturday but by most accounts it was well deserved. AFCW up to 4th in the Conference National and playing top of the table Oxford at home this coming Saturday with little pressure - I just love this consolidation lark.
  14. 1. I believe that Nixon is now Chief Executive of Livingston. No idea if this is a paid position or not. 2. Nixon is part of the Livi 5 consortium - I don't think the shareholding has been revealed but I think it is safe to say that as a local businessman, Nixon will have put in money. He was already a shareholder under the old regime. 3. Nixon is still listed as being "Media Liaison" on the Livi for Life Trust Board. That said, the trust website has not been updated for some time. It does indeed sound familiar and you don't need to believe in conspiracy theories to see or be aware what is taking place here. It's happened often enough at other football clubs after all. It might take a long time to play out but the livi 5 consortium are obviously looking to make money on the stadium and surrounding land.
  15. Give up on the Livingston fans ever waking up and smelling the coffee. Their trust has been led by Nixon over recent months - that's all you need to remember. Nixon is now in bed with McDougall and his mate and we also have another couple of shysters in Wilson and Rankine involved. A voted-on trust member is hardly likely to make much of a difference. The whole thing fucking stinks of a property deal with WLC being in on the act too.
  16. Worth noting that the English FA have fined the Conference over the Chester City affair? Every case is different but there may be parallels! Even a "rules are rules" man like yourself HJ is starting to hint on a successful appeal. Maybe the clown is right....
  17. I watched Meadowbank Thistle quite often when I lived in Edinburgh as a student in the 80's. I knew a few of their fans. I drank in the GG pub before and after games. I had more than a soft spot for them as the third Edinburgh club fighting for support with the Edinburgh big-boys Hibs and Hearts. I think I'm entitled to the view that anyone who went to support Livingston against the will of the vast majority of the fans is a scab. I won't even tell you what I think of the very small minority of Wimbledon fans who went to watch the McDongs.
  18. Call it 11! From an article that an ex-Meadowbank Thistle fan did for an AFCW fanzine, very few went to support Livingston and the buses from Edinburgh to livingston were stopped pretty quick. (PM me if you want to read the article) Of couse LLD who posts on here is one scab that went to Livingston, but he was lining his own pocket by getting paid for writing in the programme I believe - a bit like the other mercenary MCL on here. TBH, even if it was 20 fans out of a hardcore Meadowbank support of 200 os so - it was pretty piss poor.
  19. There were about a dozen old Meadowbank fans who went to support the franchise. The rest went and supported other clubs (Edinburgh City for quite a few) or were lost to football.
  20. Nope - just stating that your club is only 14 years old. I appreciate that a lot of kiddies who watch Livingston know nothing (or indeed care nothing) about how the club ended up in Livingston against the will of the majority of fans who followed Meadowbank Thistle. The thing is, the whole business plan is based on SF1 football + getting some real estate.
  21. Now, now - some of the 'true Livi fans' have been following their team for all of errrr 14 years. It's their birthright don't you know. Well apart from Judas Jude, her birthright was to follow the bhoys to paradise.
  22. Too slow clown boy. You'll need to type your one liners a bit faster.
