The boy that text me was told by someone else (as is always the case with rumours ). I know who he is but don't really speak to the guy other than a hello. He's a well known face around Palmerston and he told my pal the news but wouldn't reveal the player's name. As I say, I'm in no way claiming it to be true and as I said to my mate "I'll believe it when I see it". I only mentioned it as I was informed of this a couple of days ago that it would be happening in a couple of days and I hope (if it is in fact true) that Carrick and Oliver aren't who he was talking about as it's hardly "something big happening, with a player coming in" material. Would love the Dobbie rumour to be true, but can't see it. It's who I thought of instantly though. You can't whack the rumour mill during close season

I got a message a couple of nights ago saying something big was coming re. a player coming in for us (not that I ever really get bothered by rumours). I sincerely hope this isn't who they were talking about, if there is to be some truth in it.

Wouldn't be arsed personally. The boy did really well for us in the seaside league but has done little since. I'll go out on a limb here and say that the boy won't go much higher than the level he's currently at. I would say (naturally) that his time with us is what kickstarted his career. I imagine his spell in the 3rd Division with The Sons was enough of a reality check to make him move his arse though. I can remember reading something about McCall and Dobbie when he joined us. McCall had basically said something along the lines that Dobbs should be embarrassed about playing at this level (Division 1) as he had the potential to do so much better. I would be interested to hear what Dobbs has to say about his time at The Sons and QoS as well as what he thinks of McCall. I reckon he'd be thankful to all 3 for where his career went from there.

Add Graham Norton to the irritating as f**k aspects of Eurovision. Wogan was just awful in general. Norton seems to be trying too hard to be as awful. He's just awful. He's trying to be funny with guessing what the tactical votes will be but he can't even get that right. He thought the 12 from Serbia would go to Greece FFS. It used to be Serbia and Montenegro ya f£ckwit, kinda a big clue there as to who Serbia would be giving the 12!

On his day he's unplayable. Problem being it's not very frequent he has these games. You'll be wanting The Rangers to come up as he always shows up against them (massive Sellic fan being the reason IMO ). His final ball isn't that great. Far too many floated crosses that GK's take all day long. If the boy could get his final ball sorted he'd be down England in no time. An absolute fighter and for his size he certainly doesn't back out of any challenges. Definitely a good player to have in your side and I really hope he stays with us. He's a sound lad t'boot
