  1. See that Easyjet advert on this site with the blond bird riding a bike? Has anyone else strained their eyes at the screen a wee bit to try and see up her skirt? No...? Just me then...?
  2. RTBC, IMO. My petty thing is that my back is killing me. I could barely get out of bed this morning, and it's all my own fault for lazing about on the couch all day yesterday after my run.
  3. Mine would be a sub 47 minute 10k, sub 22 minute 5k (may need to venture to the strathclyde parkrun for that, Pollok is a hilly bugger) and sub 1:45 at the Glasgow half marathon in September.
  4. Did the Glasgow mens health 10k today - clocked a PB of 48:29! Over the moon - previous race PB was 50:20 so absolutely smashed it. Cracking event and very well run, a reasonably flat course too. I'm already looking forward to challenging my time next year. Special mention to Shakehands Tom as well as he ran a PB as well, a nice wee boost before his wedding 3 weeks today Kudos also to my old man - an absolute running fiend who ran a 41:52 PB, coming 4th in his category (over 50 male) overall out of thousands of runners. I've got some way to go to match up to him!
  5. That place is always hoaching with fanny, its fucking great.
  6. Depends how often you need to shave tbh. My electric one does the job each day but doesn't shave as close as a blade so by 8pm I could be doing with another shave, especially if going out that night etc.
  7. Lol good effort shakehands but cos I'm training for this half marathon in September I'm out of the running (lol) til then.
  8. Given your record if we weren't on the same team it'd more likely be me that'd need crutches
  9. Getting married is the gayest excuse for not playing 5s ever
  10. Not so good YB, hope it's not as serious as you fear.
  11. Good luck mate, if you beat 50 mins you'll probably beat me!
  12. I was in my local with my mate a while back and a wee jakey came in with a carrier bag full of cathedral city cheddar asking if folk "wattae buy some cheese?" Didn't get a chance to purchase any as he'd been huckled out by the gaffer by the time I'd stopped pishing myself laughing.
  13. This. I was well hydrated for Sunday's race but hadn't eaten enough the day before/morning of the race. About 20 yards before the finish line my legs nearly gave way and my vision was blurry as i crossed the line. The wee old woman helping had to undo my shoe for me to take the tag off!
  14. Just twisted it a bit. Loosened off when I managed to force myself to walk about a bit but still sore. Not been out running this week but managed a wee game of 5s tonight (didn't move out of about a 5 yard radius lol) and it wasn't bad. Hopefully ok again by the weekend.
  15. Interesting theories regarding the ipods. I've only recently started using one after always dismissing the idea, and I've found that it can really help when a high tempo song comes on if you're struggling! Too early in my running career to tell which way is quicker though.
  16. I'm not in a club but I'm on the lookout for one. South side of Glasgow if anyone is reading! I run with my old man's club when I visit him in Dunblane (one of whom you must have chased over the finish line by the looks of things) so yeah, it does make you go quicker. Going to start going to parkrun again to see if that helps my times.
  17. Pulled a muscle in my back so can barely move, have suddenly developed hayfever and a to-do list as long as my arm at work. Not my best day so far.
  18. How long have you been running for mate? I only started doing it seriously in March or thereabouts so really looking to knock my times down a bit over the next year or so.
  19. Results are up young_bairn - http://www.dunblaneroadrace.com/results2012.html I was 72nd/188 runners, delighted with that. Going to knock a couple of minutes off nex year though!
  20. Congrats mate - smashing effort. I'll be over the moon if I get near that for Glasgow HM in September.
  21. Exact same with the water mate! It's my ex bird's old man who organises it - I've been telling him to change the finish line for 5 years! Turns out that out of the group of 10-12 folk I knew doing it I was the only one to clock a PB so can't be too unhappy with that.
  22. That's incredible in this heat mate, well done. I was about 60:30 unfortunately - wanted under the hour. Given the heat though and the fact that I beat 3 people I know who'd normally beat me by 5 mins plus, I'm happy. Gives me something to aim for next year! How did you find the course?
