  1. Pretty much mate aye. Shakey will be walking up past the bus station - assuming he sees this he could meet you there.
  2. I'll be the one dry heaving in the corner if that's any help to you.
  3. With the hangover I've got I'll probably be arriving in one.
  4. Doubt it. Might be moving flat next week and got a lot of other shit on as well.
  5. I'm in pieces after that. Two 90 minute games in the space of 24 hours wasn't quite what I had in mind for easing myself back in gently after injury. In short, awful performance by me but pleased with beating callum 3 times as he seems to make a point of trying not to let score lol. Also Fudge ya dick, I've got a wee black bruise on the end of my knob because of you!
  6. Albino Rover - you are now excused. My mate Gav (formerly of P&B Select and shagging questionably aged birds fame) is going to fill the void (ahem). See you at the pitches bitches.
  7. I've asked another mate who has yet to reply, but as it stands you're in. Graft levels will be minimal today - leg, arse and back muscles ache after a punishing 90 minutes yesterday. My body seems to have taken it's return to physical exercise after a 3 month sabbatical rather poorly. Definite Owen Hargreaves role - none of this galloping about like Whittaker pish.
  8. I made a successful comeback from injury this evening in a 7s game on the hallowed New Broomfield astroturf, even marking my return with a speculative wonder goal from six yards. I'm not on the list of 'In' players but I declared my availability to Shakey yesterday. Given my present injury prone status though Owen Hargreaves would be a better nickname.
  9. Kaz is taking my place as my ankle is throbbing after yesterday's drunken antics. I shall return in a few weeks.
  10. Ah wheesht. It'll be fine. Probably. Although nobody is allowed to tackle me, deal?
  11. To f**k with it, my ankle is still gubbed but I need to start somewhere. If a place is being offered I'm in (drunken weekend injuries notwithstanding).
  12. Anywhere at all, I'm happy to drive to somewhere if it comes recommended. Doesn't even necessarily have to be in Glasgow, I was more looking for any recommendations from people who have been before.
  13. Can anyone reccomend a reasonably priced physio in Glasgow? I did my ankle ligaments a month ago and not seeing much improvement, want to get someone to look at it.
  14. I had a phone call from Powerleague the other day saying that for £20 they'll essentially find you a 5 a side team to play against (aimed at groups of guys in this same farcical situation). I don't think turning up with 6 or 7 players and doing rolling subs would be a problem, but might be worth calling them to ask about it if you're still struggling to get a game organised.
  15. It works out like that in the end though, and it's fucking magic when it does.
  16. Knowing your build (and smoking habit ) I'd suggest doing the parkrun on the Saturday, fitting in another 5-6km run on maybe the Monday and then a slow 7-10km on maybe the Thursday. Start with 7km and add a wee bit on each time for this run, once you can run 7 or 8km without coughing up a lung you'll manage 10km no bother on race day with the adrenaline. Admittedly this is just what I'd do - others will have more detailed (and probably better!) advice as well.
  17. A guy I knew worked cleaning the hulls of ships in Aberdeen harbour and had some horrifying stories about seals sneaking up and biting him while working under water. You can hardly see anything as the water is so grimy and just feel a nasty nip apparently, although the worst one was when he was in hospital for two days as one had bitten the tube that runs to his oxygen tank. He breathed in and got a lungful of manky, shitey harbour water and had to spend two days in hospital getting all manner of antibiotics and stuff pumped into him
  18. Shakey is on his honeymoon so I'd say he'll be doubtful.
  19. Right, there's an awful lot of info in this thread, although it's obviously quite varied for different people. Hopefully someone can give some advice. I'm 24, about 12st, quite slim. I play quite a lot of football and go running regularly, with the odd gym session and weights bench session in the house thrown in. I am probably the fittest I've been cardio-wise in my life. Last week I tore my ankle ligaments and haven't to do any cardio for 4-6 weeks. I go on holiday to Ibiza in 5 weeks, so have decided that I'll focus on the weights taining to get trim for the holiday. I'm not fussed about protein powders etc really, just looking for a list of exercises I can stick to to bulk up arms, chest, abs. Also some dietary advice would be good - as I won't be doing any cardio work I'm conscious of how to keep the belly at bay whilst still giving my body enough fuel to turn into muscle. Any help appreciated, cheers.
  20. I tore my ankle ligaments on Saturday plaing 11s, so it's fairly safe to say that I am out of this for the forseeable future.
  21. I'd prefer it to be a bit earlier as well. I'm not fussed about paying the extra quid or so - he only resvation I have is that when we used to try to play at 8/8.30 etc a good while ago you had to be on the phone at 9.01am on the Tuesday booking it for the following week or you didn't get a park. This does not suit our flaky numbers. Oh aye, and Kaz said the other week he'd be keen as well.
  22. It would appear that it was just me. p.s. you can't see anything anyway, don't waste your time.
