  1. That was the hilliest run I've ever done. For those not aware, callander is basically a long, flat settlement surrounded by hills. I was hoping it'd be ten k round the town rather than the hills. In any case, was very pleased with 51.50ish, although both ankle's and my left knee are now undoubtedly fucked.
  2. I've not done a massive amount of running recently - a 6 mile and two 4 miles in the last 3 weeks or so. However, my old man has signed me up to run the Callander 10k tomorrow which I'm using as a reason not to get pished tonight.
  3. A further Lidl bargain to add to the many already mentioned - their tattie wedges are cracking and are about 50p for a big bag. I also bought the excellent Liam Neeson film 'Taken' for the princely sum of £2.99. What a shop.
  4. I've spent the last three hours sitting quietly at my desk pretending to work. In reality I'm just trying not to fall asleep.
  5. I get the train every day from Central and there is normally a 'front train' and a 'rear train' for the upper platforms. The amount of times they've changed their mind and went up the carriages telling people to switch trains because the Neilston train is now the front train or vice versa is ridiculous.
  6. Just found out that apparently 'something good' is about to happen for me at work, no idea what it is yet mind you. I was telling the chef that the MD of the company had just called me, and the conversation went like this: Chef: 'Ahh, I think I know what that was about!'. *sounds smug* Me: 'Eh, he was just checking to see how things had been while I've been covering for the boss (he's on holiday). What did you think it was?' Chef: 'Aw right, eh, I can't tell you. It's good for you though, you'll be pleased.' Just fucking tell me you arse piece!!
  7. Negative. Half marathon training starts on Monday so not sure how often I'll be able to play.
  8. If I remember correctly only the double decker ones have a bog and they're not used all the time (double deckers I mean). In saying that it's a few years since I got one.
  9. Ran 9k or so round Bridge of Allan and Stirling yesterday. First run I've done in a couple of weeks so I was just glad to get round. Have agreed to run the Glasgow half marathon in September and the Dunblane road race (7.5 miles) at the end of May so best get training!
  10. You can click 'leave conversation' from within the actual message. Happened to me a few times recently.
  11. Yeah, I'll take issue with this. Whilst I do take the ticket out, run it thru the barrier etc, it probably only works every fourth time or so. So in effect, despite the fact we've bothered our arses to buy a monthly pass thus saving on queues every day for everyone else, we are actually held up for longer than the bloke who fires his single ticket through quite the thing, whilst the machine goes 'beep beep beep' and we have to summon the wee workshy Scotrail arsehole to let us through. So round ye
  12. How exactly? You used to be able to get advance fares for a tenner, which came down to £6.80 or something if you have a railcard, but i think its a bit dearer now. You have to book weeks in advance as well. In any case I'd imagine when most folk moan about rail travel they are referring to everyday usage, not buying railcards, scouring the net for cheap deals etc.
  13. Karma is digging me up big time today, presumably as revenge for my weekend antics. Had a brutal nights sleep, had a powercut while in the shower covered in shampoo at 6am and then my taxi never turned up. f**k you karma, ya dick.
  14. No chance this will be on. Kaz also isn't sure when he'll get away from work.
  15. I had a crap 10k race in bishopbriggs on Saturday. I thought it was a road race but it was around a manky dirt trail along a canal. It was quite flat but very windy. My hamstring injury flared up around 8k again and i managed 50:14, a good couple of minutes slower than I'd hoped.
  16. Its only the 1st of March and I've clocked up 11 hours overtime already this month with a ton more to follow. April payday will be a good one!
  17. This is the one i use, and have told you about on several occasions Tom
  18. Yeah, so after a chronically bad day at work this turned into a visit to the pub instead. Oh well. 5s tomorrow so will get a good run in on Friday.
  19. I did likewise actually, I thought it was hilarious in a point and laugh at the thick geordie kind of way.
