  1. A big welcome to new loan signing Craig Malcolm, welcome to K-Park, Malky!
  2. Our title victory last season was very much built upon a strong defence so when I noticed that last week's match at Dalbeattie featured our strongest back 5 (McGinley, Russell, Proctor, Howie and Capucho) for the first time this season I was delighted. A 2-0 victory followed. Today we started with the next best thing (B J Coll for Russell) and again kept a clean sheet. A good crowd saw a good performance and (for us) a good victory by 4 goals to nil. Losing Fabio in the first half to injury was a blow but whilst he was on he showed exactly what we've been missing. Incredible hard work and 100% commitment. Seems to have been some kind of strain so hopefully not out for too long. There were no failures today but Ross McNeil deserves a special mention for an outstanding performance. He tormented the Gretna defence all day and could've had more than the brace he got. For me this was the best performance in quite a while and whilst Gretna made a match of it we seemed to be in the mood right from the off. There was very little height in the Gretna team particularly up from but I was still impressed with their 9 and 10 who both displayed a lovely touch. Hearing that BSC and Spartans drew 0-0 which is a nice bonus to end a good day.
  3. Not got much to add other than feeling sorry for the loyal Falkirk fans that are proud of their club and of their town having to watch this unfold via the national press. Would be good if it could be used to set a new precedent about what is acceptable behavior at football matches but I wont hold my breath.
  4. Edusport equalise early in the second half. EK then regain the lead and in the 75th minute win a penalty....which is missed. Edusport equalise again in stoppage time. Final Score: Edusport Academy 3 East Kilbride FC 3 Another massive blow to our hopes of retaining our Lowland league title.
  5. Half time: Edusport Academy 1 East Kilbride FC 2 Two goals in less than five minutes just before half time from Hughes and Winter give EK the lead after they'd gone behind on 30 minutes.
  6. SPFL West Dev League result East Kilbride FC U-20 - 2 Ayr Utd U-20 - 0 . Captain Liam Craig with a Kilby double
  7. Richard Wilson [an award winning sports writer] explained why Hibs are 4th in the table. "Hibs are obviously not managing games...not...not..either keeping the ball out of the net...or...or...or...or scoring at the right moment in time in the games and that's why they're dropping points".
  8. Delighted to see our Donations of kit and Equipment reach Daranka academy again in time for Christmas. Year on year all your donations make such a huge difference for the kids at EK Gambia/Daranka future academy. Ek celebrated the arrival of our football gears from MIKE PEDEN's East kilbride with a comprehensive 2-0 win over village rivals 911 in the Kombo kerewan senior tournament ...its the team's first competitive game since the nawetan....The new look EKG took the lead early in the first half through Yusupha jarjue ...Yaya Senghorr sealed the win with an 85th minute strike .We take this opportunity to thank Mike Peden and The entire Kilby, Paul Lafferty and Project Gambia for the continuous support to the academy.
  9. A big opportunity blown today for EK. Fair play to the Uni, they were incredibly hard working and were delighted with their victory. First half we started sluggishly assuming the chances would just come and in the end it was the visitors that took the lead after hesitation in the home defence. A brilliant block tackle was not rewarded as EU scored a split second later, they had another great chance before the half ended. In the second half EK came out with a really high tempo and Edinburgh to their credit were counter attacking with 4 and 5 players at every opportunity. The opposition number 9 had caught the eye with his speed and tenacity but ended up seeing red after two late tackles. This didn't really change the pattern of the match and if there were stats available I'd expect them to say we had 25 shots with 15 on target although only 1 of those required what I'd call a great save. The other 14 all ended up close to the goalkeeper who didn't put a foot wrong. Not an ideal situation before an away trip to East Stirlingshire next week.
  10. Lowland League football returns to K-Park on Saturday, as we welcome Edinburgh University. Kick-off is 3pm.
  11. Monkey Tennis asked me to point out that your use of the word 'literally' is incorrect in this instance.
  12. Well done to @EKFC2001blues team mates Ross Taylor and Mark Risi representing @ScottishYouthFA u17s in today’s 4-2 win over Melbourne Allstars . Well done lads.
  13. Big congratulations to Martin Mcbride who makes his 100th appearance for EK today!
  14. Chic Young, Derek Ferguson, Allan Preston.........so painful.
  15. I absolutely loved the first half. Both teams fully committed and going end to end. 1-1 at the break and just enough time for a bovril. In the second half Rovers continued at the same tempo while we lulled. They quickly banged in 3 goals to almost put the tie out of sight. I've watched Joao Victoria wear an EK strip and be unplayable many times in the past and in little spells on Saturday he did the same for Albion beating 1, 2, 3 men. He made one of the goals in that manner. We never gave up and managed to make the scoreline close but the away side were well worth their victory. A thoroughly enjoyable cup tie.
  16. Last night a mixed EK squad (players from the U16, U17 & U18s) beat Bonnyton U20s 4-0. Goals from Caig, McGuire (2) and Taylor (all pictured below). Massive well done to everyone involved.
  17. EKFC are delighted to announce the signing of former Dumbarton, Morton & BSC Glasgow midfielder Tony Wallace, who joined the club tonight. Welcome to K-Park, Tony!
  18. That section needled me a bit too. The term 'gamble' was also banded about as if McIntyre/Dodds equalled guaranteed promotion but this guy.......??
  19. Just listened to it. Take NO pleasure in saying it but Broadfoot came across as a guy very well versed in administration/politics/speaking and made Paul sound like a well meaning amateur.
  20. The next match was always going to be incredibly interesting. Don't see how the rantings of a deranged fan makes any difference.
  21. Congratulations to Sean Winter, who made his 100th appearance for East Kilbride on Saturday in the 1-0 victory over Spartans.
  22. He's obviously never worked in the building trade! It's mandatory.
  23. Agreed. I was really disappointed with them against Aberdeen at Easter Road but they've bounced back from that in spectacular fashion.
