  1. Some of the sevco fans really have added so much to this thread. Intelligent, honest and able to have a reasoned discussion. Fantastic.
  2. I assume Charlie's 4 day bender across the U.S. is an all expenses paid trip, courtesy of Sevco?if he was paying fo it, you can be sure he'd have let his arsepiece at the record know just how much of a top guy he is by paying for I himself.
  3. Which begs the question.... In all those years of financial cheating through dual contracts. If rangers had acted correctly, where would they have finished, realistically. Also... If it took rangers 50m worth of cheating, to be on a level playing field with Celtic. What makes sevco fans think that if they get promoted to the SPL, that they will be able to compete with Celtic? Prior to the dual contracts, did rangers not have a financial foot up as MIM was making money from Rangers competitors to rebuild their grounds? Money that went from the MIM bank account straight into the Rangers bank account? I'm sure there is an article that shows they were getting endless cash injections from the bank, prior to this to allow them to compete. Before they passed away, was there a time in Murray's stewardship that rangers competed with the opposition on a level playing field, without 3rd party financial assistance?
  4. Back? I can't remember her being in it before. BTW... What ever happened to the Alfie turns into a mad man, storyline we were going to be getting?
  5. i take it you are aware that, when writing a song, it's very common to use a metaphor to describe something? D'yer Wanna be a spaceman: a song about looking back to your childhood and the things that you wanted to be that are in reality, not achievable. It's Gettin' Better (Man!!): reading into the lyrics, it most probably relates to the daily grind of the 9 to 5 and that your imagination, and the weekend, let you escape that. i.e. it's getting better, it's not all bad... Listen Up: as in, listen to me, shouting at you that whilst i'm sitting here in this shitty job, i've got dreams of getting out of here and making my own life. there's a couple to get you started... it's quite easy to work out the metaphor in a song, by reading the lyrics. of course, if you weren't a troll you would look into these things, instead of making sweeping statements.
  6. I didn't say you had made any negative statements about the music. You were however making generalisations about song titles when you hadn't listened to the song. So how can you possibly comment if you don't know how the title fits the lyrics? Have a read at my initial post describing their career. Would you say I consider them to be flawless?
  7. You're making negative statements and sweeping generalisations about a band you have never conciously listenned to.... Troll.
  8. The round the dinner table moment, was quite funny. And Janice's comment to Phil in the cafe, I liked that.
  9. So he is, down at the boxing gym, i remember now, there was him, ben and ben's first love all getting sweaty together. yet again Eastenders abusing poetic licence. Gym's aren't like that, are they? by the way, i take it ian will claim back all his property, once he is back to full health (i'd imagine by mext week) as lucy made him sign it all over when he was in no fit state to know what he's signing. on a serious note, it's good that they have breached the subject of a breakdown and depression through a failed relationship, it's something very common, but rarely touched on in real life... unfortunatly they took it too far and turned ian into a fckin tramp.
  10. Aye, Jay's good. Good on the lad, he's going to end up pumpin the legs aff that wee ned aswell, and you just know she's a wee durty! More airtime needs to be given to the Masoods, preferably in a dry humoured way normally seen in Mas, Tanwar and the ma's one line put downs... not in the usual stereotypical way the scriptwriters treat asian families: divorce, bankruptcy etc... the bufty tho, no need for him to be on the tv. by the way? what does Christian do for a living, the other day his bloke, who's name escapes me was on the verge, business failing, stock through the roof, panic stuff he needs christian to help out..... but he's too busy preparing the wean for a beauty pagent???
  11. Good point, what would you suggest they were called? Sits back and waits for unimaginitive reply: Status Quo cover, Slade Cover, Beatles ripoff #246...
  12. When he was in bed and she was singing to him it was cringe city!
  13. I'm 36 now, so when the whole oasis thing kicked off, i was 18 years old, hitting the pubs and going to gigs. they created a scene built around being young and wearing smart clothes. my neighbour works in musical instrument distribuition, and whilst he's not an oasis fan, he and every guitar store around Britain acknowledge if it wasn't for them and the scene they created, a lot of guitar shops would have went out of business. Put it this way, how many people in Britain play a double cut away Epiphone in a band these days... ask yourself why. as for the music, i tend to split their albums up... like i do with the stones and their rhythm guitarists, i look at oasis and their drummers... and the alan white era wins it for me. when you look at how DM came onto the music scene, nothing was going to touch that, it was fresh, rough and anyone could play it. Noel has said himself that he changed his songwriting for WTSMG as he had to write more ballads, as ballads are where the money is, if you get in with the geeks and saddo's you make yer money... and he did. BHN is a mostorous album, riddled with multiple layered tracks, because they had the money, and the charlie, to do it.... when you strip it away, there is a great mix of DM and WTSMG on it. SOTSG, they are starting to tire, but there are some belters on there, and by this point they had nailed it as a live band. Gas Panic through to Roll It Over are belters, every one of them. When you look at the fact that this album had no Guigsy or Bonehead album, you need to have some admiration for them. probably due to that tho', the keyboard really starts to take prominence in the music, and ultimately, they never moved on from that. HC: if it wasn't for Little by Little, i really wouldn't fuss with this album, you've probably heard all the songs somewhere before, by this point. I've just looked at the track listing for DBTT and theres actually some great songs spread right through the album, but by this point in my life, i had switched off from their music. When DOYS came out, i really couldn't have cared less, i had heard a couple of tracks but really didn't like it, or want to spend any time liking it. then a few weeks back i was in a discount book store in the Paisley Centre and they had it for £1, so i thought, why not... turns out its actually a really great album and would probably still be getting played if i hadn't just bought the Teenage Fanclub back catalogue. as for beedy eye? they can Foff, i have no interest in hearing them, watching them or having an opinion on them, other than, from the bits i've heard, are absolutely fckin sh!te. NG's HFB's? got the album and love it, think it's got some great songs on it and he has built a great band around him, if this had been the 3/4 of the next Oasis album, it probably would not have got the credit it deserved, but NG has relaunched himself and has done a good job of it. and for reference? Ocean Colour Scene wipe the floor with Oasis. one of the best bands britain has produced both musically and lyrically in the last 20 years. You probably won't see a better live band just now, either.
  14. and yet nothing happened. god it was awful. Letitia Dean is one of the most appauling actresses around, quite obviously she's got an ego that screams, me! yes me! i'm back! but quite frankly the current viewers couldn't give a sh!t
  15. Aye, she's cracking. Loving every minute. Star n Garter pre match on the 11th?
  16. So... I've not been about, since the birth of my first child, on the 6th. Have I missed anything?
  17. So the paper leads with a list of ex players who are involved... Then ends with a quote from brown saying that he hopes wee Barry will be the first of many... The same paper which has provided quotes from wee Barry... For some reason didn't ask him about dual contracts and ebt payments?
  18. So just to clarify bomber's fighting fund is looking for ex players to give 40k over to raise 10mil? So, that's 250 players? And so far he's got himself... And a meeting with an EBT abuser in a couple of weeks?
  19. Thistle have not said no... we have said we do not accept the current offer being made... which is wholey different, and quite frankly sickening. 4 statements from our club, not once have we said no to newco. mark my words, beattie and co are hanging out for a better offer and he will welcome Rangers into the 1st with pants round his ankles... and i will walk away from Thistle.
  20. Mr Cosgrove. If you are reading this, please give that deluded, rangers pandering, self preserving, lamb feasting, agenda touting, armagedon voicing, scaremongering, job loosing, waste of space, Jim Traynor an absolute pounding tonight. All the best. Dave.J
  21. Thats my point, Beattie's interviews were last week, yet he somehow managed to tell the Evening Times what his wishes for Thistle, in an ideal world, would be... Coincidentally, exactly the same as todays stitch up offer from the SPL/SFL. And if Thistle vote YES, and a NO vote is successful... Thistle walk off into SPL2, licking Rangers balls.
  22. Ivo. Go and read beatties interviews last week in the press. His ideal scenario, what he wants for the club, is Thistle in an SPL2... And by the way... The SFL vote next week? Secret Ballot.
  23. I don't think it's a win win... I fuckin hate the idea. But our short sighted club are right behind the yes vote. No doubt about it.
