  1. If ever there was a quote that summed the man up then this is it. He's a total idiot! If he had the money he should have paid what was due...numpty. ..and as for having plans for the stadium...maybe that him instead of the council.
  2. Am I right in thinking that it would be on the court rolls for the days hearing when (and if) it come to taking action? If this is the case then surely it should already be 'in the system' somewhere and would present itself soon. I really would have thought somebody from Livi would have passed comment by now...
  3. The trouble for any player will be that an offer from Livi may well be the only one they get...it is a gamble but some may well feel like they have to take it. No news today so far about anything then? Are we likely to hear anything?
  4. Does anyone know anything about how the Safety Certificate is issued? Is the council simply advising what needs done to gain the certificate? I've had a look over the Livi board and I thought it was purely a case of some things being moved from underneath some stands. As regards the situation it seems another day is met with silence from all sides. Good result for Livi on the field last night but no further forward for their fans knowing whats going on/ going to happen off it.
  5. If the council are actually having talks i'd be surprised if an agreement isn't reached very soon. Although this would be good news for the supporters I think, depending on the outcome, it could lead to a very sticky time for the council in regards other householders and businesses in West Lothian. In saying that, if talks were to happen i'd imagine more people would have got wind of it by now.
  6. Must admit that although I didn't expect any 'huge' news about developments first thing on Thursday i was expecting a comment from either WLC or the club to advise as to whats now going to happen, i.e, are they still talking or have the council actually confirmed that action has started? If the council were to confirm that proceedings were to begin maybe the SFL could then ask for confirmation that Livi will be able to fulfill the seasons fixtures. In any case they should really be insisting that the safety certificate is in place by a set deadline.
  7. Its probably £16 for the game as they'll now have to pay Bathgate to use the ground
  8. Does this mean that theres still no power and as such no safety certificate or have they simply run out of time to get it issued this week? Either way you would have hoped that the Livi fans would have been advised on their own site by their own team...surely Plymouth would have known about this yesterday to put it on their own site? (assuming its appeared today).
  9. ...and heres another £8k down the drain.... http://edinburghnews.scotsman.com/breaking...8000.5465068.jp
  10. I'll be surprised if anything 'official' is announced today. I can only imagine what it must be like for any Livi fans..the silence is deafening. In all honesty I couldn't work out why he'd pay for the leccy if it could all be pointless by today anyway.
  11. So....is the leccy back on at Almondvale? Given the assurances on the club official site yesterday that it would be, this would be a great indicator as to whether Massone is actually going to start using that £300k to pay things off.
  12. The statement on the official site is nothing short of disgraceful. To actually again tell the fans that he has the cash to clear the critical debts but hasn't done it so far is just kicking them when they're down. Huge promises again but no answers to any questions. Given that the council have now said that he hasn't been in touch (BBC website), it would again appear that he doesn't see them as a threat to his masterplan..after all, everyone knows that the council have to accept their offer...don't they???
  13. If I were a Livi fan I think the one sentence that would worry me the most would be 'Rankine has warned that the council is playing a dangerous game because the club could be plunged into liquidation after legal inspection of the accounts' Quite obviously Rankine is alluding to the fact that the clubs in such bad shape that if the council don't accept the offer the clubs gone. Not quite the way i'd be looking to try and find new investors!
  14. Was thinking the same P.C. Its now after lunchtime on Monday and I would have thought (and maybe Livi fans would have hoped!) to have heard something from the council or Massone/ Rankine as to ongoing discussions but theres been nothing...nada...zip. If Massone/ Rankine are waiting till tomorrow to start to try and negotiate it could be a pretty dangerous thing to do.
  15. Perhaps the reason the council would appear to be taking more of a hardline is due to these plans being in place. The council must be aware that flogging the stadium to Massone et al would result in it being flattened and houses built, making Massone a huge profit. Why should he do it when the council could do it themselves? Maybe the council have agreed with the Trust that should the club go into admin they'll write of the rent and move the club to a new smaller ground with a lower rent payment in order to allow then to rezone and build at Almondvale. Much like Massone would planned to have done but with the profit staying in the public (?) purse
  16. The council could very quickly resolve this situation....if they won't accept any less than they are owed then they should be very clear NOW and stick to that decision. Rankine, McDougall and Massone still have the belief, given the past occurances, that the council will back down and accept less over a longer period...the longer this goes on the more likely that appears to be the case. The one person who probably won't accept less will be the Inland Revenue.
  17. Yes but Clyde also released all their players, Livi have announced no such cut backs at all. Massone has simply asked for people to come and work for nothing in order to remain at their current level. I can't see how you can have it both ways, by all means offer the council a smaller up front payment along with other creditors but at least show that there are cuts being made at the club to try and ensure the remaining debt will be cleared. Has there been any further announcements as to how talks are progressing? If somethings going to be agreed it surely has to happen in the next day or so to stand a chance of getting accepted or negotiated.
  18. Rankines comments in the Scotsman are incredible and show just why people are having difficulty in gaining much sympathy for Livi (the club, not the majority of the supporters). To come out in the media and say that a council owed nearly £300k should accept £70k as 'its better than nothing' is outragous. Not once is it mentioned about how the club came to be in a position or even how sorry they are that the club has not managed to repay its debt, just a comment about how poeple should be grateful to get anything. That one piece has probably offended as many people as Massone.....ok, maybe not!
  19. I just can't get away from this niggling feeling that the Council are going to give in to the emotional blackmail from Rankine, accept the £70k and 'work towards another plan'. Then trot out the line of how they are sympathetic to businesses at this difficult time. Massone and Rankine have been pretty clever and have made the focal point the council, hoping that people try and force the issue to be resolved without them having to place more cash into the debt. As time goes on i can see this rumbling on and at this point next year the council will once again be moaning about unpaid rent. As much as it may hurt in the short term I think they have to hold out on this one...
  20. I reckon you will be closer with the costs at the 1200 paying customers (much lower monthly income). If the non-paid debt is £1.3m or higher then there has to be more yet to be realised/ included. As I believe Duncan has already stated surely the only way to get costs down is to reduce the wages to the playing staff etc (going part time?) before asking people to give up their time and effort in an order to keep things as 'normal' as possible without racking up more costs.
  21. Am I missing something? How are Livi able to appoint a new 'head coach' whilct the Hegarty thing is still unsettled. Or is it another cloak and daggers move by Massone as there wasn't a 'head coach' previously? I'm just amazed he took the job. Maybe Massone made him an offer he couldn't refuse!
  22. Should anyone attend the meeting I think the first thing that should be raised and clarified is EXACTLY how large is the debt...and Massone should not be allowed to slither away without answering. Rankine appears to be backing away now he's seen the books and so will many others. Unfortunately the fans still don't have a clear picture of how bad things may be.
  23. I would say i'm surprised...but i'm not..a meeting to ask everyone to come along and hand over thier cash allowing him to stay in charge is almost a masterstroke. I just hope that Livi supporters stick to their guns. Go along by all means but be sure and vote for the option which completely removes Massone!! Massone had to be seen to be seen to be doing something. Probably at this stage they'll be hoping no-one turns up and his new mates will pick up the pieces from the administrator, reaching agreement with the council to write off the debt and then move the team to a more 'economical' stadium. One way or another I don't see Almondvale featuring in league football much longer.
