There are teams in the Sunday Central League who play at places with floodlights, dugouts and barriers like Renfrew Leisure Centre, the teams all turn up in club tracksuits as opposed to their own clothes, one club in Glasgow last year I even knew had a fitness coach. Doesn't make those clubs anything more than mere amateurs either. I'm not sure that a poor South team would beat a team in the Sunday Central, especially the good ones, so what's the difference? The simple status of being tier 6? Cause I'm not certain that it's setup or ability.

    Three beers?

  2. Regionalisation could work, but South teams (@ L6) should not be penalised en masse.

If a restructure was to be done, sensibly, then all should be afforded the opportunity to be in the highest level available. If that results in 'humpings' then so be it.  There would be some clubs dropping down A level, but most wouldn't be impacted by it.

A back of the fag packet structure could be.

Lowland Prem (as is, with top 3 in E, W & S Licensed club joining)

    Lowland Champ (Top 4-6 Licensed clubs in E, W & S)

West Prem (remaining S teams and remaining West prem teams) - East Prem

    West Champ - East Champ

    West 1 - East 1

West North and West South - East North and East South

  4. It probably shows the current difference between SFL2 and LL.

EK is full of players who's used to be able to do a job or aren't good enough.

Balde is either a terrible striker or had a coupon on him not scoring today.

That's a shame if the 18th is set in stone as the home leg, just because that's the date of the Stranraer v East Kilbride 2nd leg at Stair Park. Would be good to get to Stranraer's game as well as the South winners' home leg, but looks like that's not possible

Don't think these are set in stone, did't know 18th was the home leg, May 25th is also cup final day

Honestly haven't seen them anywhere else but on p&b so as you say maybe not set in stone.

Are you ready for Wednesday or has it all been too much for your wee heart. 😉😉

Some Broxburn folk are hinting they might make it too.

Surely tae God there wil be a good turnout at the caravan park.

  6. Excellent post, and absolutely spot on.

We (the club) are always looking at ways to make us and the community better, the recent launch of our ladies' team demonstrating that.  At the early stages of the WoS, we did have conversations with the LL and had a note of interest in joining the WoS. After much conversation with clubs (in both areas) we felt that we owed it to the SOSFL to remain and focus on how we can make the league better and change our approach; we've worked closely (as have other local clubs) to provide a path way for players from Galloway Thistle into senior football, and brought in a young and ambitious management team.  Had we gone to another area, that opportunity may not have been afforded to us - we want to continue doing what we are doing.

The discussion on the number of teams, structures, and associations will never go away.  It's like the whole 42 senior clubs & 4 division model - it too could change.

Any 'merger' and we've been honest on this can not be at the detriment of any current T6 club.  If they chose to go in at a lower tier and that option was offered then that's their own choosing.

People say the longer it goes on, the less chance it will happen.  Who'd have thought 5 years ago we'd have a WOSFL and no Junior setup.

Because of all the shenanigans at the birth of the pyramid the SOS is at Tier 6 and cannot just be removed without their consent, which I don't see being discussed at any SOS meeting upcoming.

Is there going to be an amicable solution forthcoming as none of the parties involved appear to be talking to one another?

My own personal view is that the present set-up is not really helping the SOS and the clubs as any match ups between the 3 Tier 6 Leagues results in open ridicule of the SOS clubs.

The constant derision aimed at the SOS is unfair on the hard working committees, volunteers, players and supporters at the clubs.
