  1. One would assume that playing in the West would be better for their costs, but I think part of the decision making and staying is partly down to 2 things;

    1.  A continued thank you for Edu being allowed in at the time and given the opportunity to develop.

    2. Should CB ever be relegated, they may see the SSFL a more attractive prospect of a return to the Lowland League

    Thats some result

Newton with a 2nd chopped off "Bizarrely" in the 90th minute too... ball played backwards to a player behind the ball and man.

Great result and would say it was well deserved.

What utter nonsense 🤣 both teams very poor. Replay was probably a fair result. Preston missing 7 players vast majority of them starters including there 2 talismen in Jamie Devlin suspended for getting sent off wi Dunbar and Paul Currie for the talbot sending off was a leveller. Credit to Newton Stewart for taking there chance at the end. If it was a replay a wouldve fancied Preston to go down there and win comfortably with there men back but hey ho thats football

Nothing needs to happen above the LL for anything to happen below it. The two issues are not in any way linked. Even if nothing changes quickly another 5 to 10 seasons worth of relegation out of the LL will flush out the clubs that are in a false position right now in pyramid terms and after that the 3 up 3 down approach of the EoS and WoS is likely to prevail in an LL context as well.

Think Threave defecting to the tenth tier WoS Fourth Division was the beginning of the end of the SoS at tier 6. Once Dalbeattie and Gretna have been relegated out of the LL it will be interesting to see whether they view the SoS as their long term home. There have already been strong indications that Gretna would prefer to be in the EoS.

Why would Gretna choose to go south then?

  5. So, whenever the SoS has to merge - playing devil's advocate - with the WoS, what happens if all 11 clubs (excl Stranraer Res) or the 3 current member clubs (possibly 5 soon) want to stay at T6.

You can't force them down to the bottom Tier.

We all go onto the park to win, compete and be successful. Yes, we may struggle against most of the T6 WoS clubs, but you can't penalise the clubs for that.

We've been a part of the pyramid from day 1, and have worked tirelessly to be a licensed club and maintain the required standards to keep that license.

A conversation needs to be had, but it needs to be open, transparent and fair to all parties in both associations.

So, let's hear it. What's the fairest solution?

St Cuthbert Wanderers will play 51 competitive fixtures this season. That seems like too many. Wouldn't it be better to have a more consistent number of matches by lengthening the league (say, by playing each opponent 3x) and eliminating some of the cups?

The cups are derived from the different associations that make up the SSFL.

Going by who's commenting with specific details, I think it's still an internal communication with SFA members. Rather than a public announcement.

Ah I see. We have a mole it seems!

Not a mole.  Just a friend of a friend.
