  1. 24/60 east juniors are moving to the EoS. That includes the "big three" (assuming Linlithgow vote to leave). There will only be 36 east juniors left next season. What makes you think the east juniors will be a better quality than the EoS next season? I don't know how people can keep using the quality of football argument as a defence of the juniors when a huge number of East juniors and many of the best clubs are about to leave.
  2. LTHV struggled to get through 24 games. Can't imagine how they could handle 38. Hopefully will be easier this season with Tynecastle moving away. There are a number of cups and some teams like LTHV can go on decent Scottish Cup runs as well.
  3. Doubt 20 and 19-team leagues will be practical at this level.
  4. I realise that but the East clubs were still in a separate system from the North juniors weren't they?
  5. Yes but the remaining north of the Tay East junior sides have played in the East juniors for many years. I can completely understand if they don't want to suddenly be up against the north juniors and I'm not convinced the best option is to merge them with the north.
  6. Some of the clubs may be pro-pyramid in principle but not in favour of how the current system is.
  7. Is that now every Superleague side South of the Tay confirmed as applying other than Sauchie and Kennoway? Sauchie rumoured to have applied too. I thought Kennoway might have gone for it too as they don't have a long history in the juniors.
  8. Was only counting clubs that have made a statement but yes it appears Broxburn are gone too.
  9. Currently looking at 35 EoS teams next season and 40 East juniors. The only clubs now outwith Fife/Perth & Kinross/Dundee/Angus: Linlithgow Rose Broxburn Athletic Sauchie Fauldhouse United Bathgate Thistle Whitburn Pumpherston Armadale Thistle West Calder United Harthill Royal Livingston United Stoneyburn Then, you've only got ten Fife sides left.
  10. Potentially two Lowland League clubs with Glasgow in the name playing in Alloa and Annan?
  11. Where did the Dundonald statement come from and who made the Broxburn tweet? Don't doubt that they are joining but can't see anything on the official twitter pages.
  12. If they stick to a 16-team Superleague then currently it would be: 3-West Lothian 1-Clackmannanshire 6-Fife 1-Perth and Kinross 2-Angus 3-Dundee
  13. Thanks for the updates kefc. Always interesting to read your posts. Let's hope, for the sake of the pyramid, there will be two relegation spots next year. Good luck to Kelty next season. Hope they make a good impact and are challenging at the top.
  14. I think it's been about two days since new teams were announced for the EoS. Getting boring now. Need another announcement. Might take the attention off the usual arguments on here.
  15. At the same time, I think that clubs need some certainty about what their divisions will look like next season. I'm not sure they could extend things beyond the AGM on 7th June or it could end up dragging on forever.
  16. Where does it say that? On their Facebook page, they said "Due to a number of teams leaving the junior leagues we do not know who we will be playing next season but will advise in due course."
  17. What would the west junior clubs even have to gain from a merged super league? Particularly after so many East juniors have already moved to the EoS. I can't see any benefit for them.
  18. Good news. Makes sense considering that Preston and Ormiston are already EoS and Musselburgh, Haddington and Tranent are moving across. Would have left Dunbar as the only East Lothian junior side. I assume that made them change their mind so drastically from a few weeks ago.
  19. Stirling & District has a mixture of East/West clubs as well.
  20. Rumours of the Lowand League increasing its number of relegation spots. I'd like to see the two EoS winners play off against each other. Winner goes up. Loser plays off against SoS champion for second promotion spot. Only three (or four with Wigtown) licensed clubs in the SoS and few, if any, want to go up so I doubt they'd want an automatic promotion spot.
  21. I understand how the system works and that VoL are safe because Cowden won today. Re-read the part I quoted in your post...
  22. No idea if it's true but it would make sense for them to move considering they are the only East Lothian club left.
