  1. The fixtures were all published well in advance. Then, as with last season, there were huge problems with Saughton and games kept getting called off. The league had no choice but to re-arrange the matches before the EoS v SoS playoffs. They have absolutely nothing to complain about. The problems were caused by their own pitch. I don't understand how this has turned into a "everyone is out to get us and the league wants Kelty up instead of" argument. Clearly, Kelty and LTHV are miles ahead of the rest of the EoS and both should be in the Lowland League based on results. Hopefully LTHV get their licence, sort out their pitch (could be helped by Tynie moving) and get promoted at some point. It will get harder each year, however, with the juniors moving across. They'll be a big challenge for the likes of Bonnyrigg next season, I'm sure. Based on this season, though, it would be an absolute mess if LTHV were in the Lowland League playing 30 league matches +cups and would cause huge problems for the league in terms of scheduling so something certainly has to change going forward.
  2. In future seasons, what would happen if Elgin (or another Highland League area club) finished bottom of League Two and the Lowland League champion won the playoff? Would they promote an extra EoS/SoS team or would they have no relegation from the LL? Hopefully the former.
  3. Lowland League tweet: Good luck to both @KeltyHeartsFC & @LTHVF in their head to head title decider this afternoon - what a season it's been in the @EastScotlandFA! The winner will play @ThreaveRoversFC to find out who joins us in the Lowland League next season. Confirmation that LTHV are/will be licensed and eligible for promotion?
  4. Not a good source at all but they have been talked about as having applied in the past e.g. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/lowland-league-welcome-cumbernauld-colts-5816197
  5. Extremely disappointing if clubs withdraw or defer on the basis of TJ's email or the talk of a licence embargo. Feels like TJ is trying to sabotage this and I think he is only looking out for his own interests rather than the interests of the clubs. I should note that the SFA email hasn't helped either and I struggle to see why there is a need to cause confusion about licence applications.
  6. Any idea which other club is getting a licence then as two are mentioned?
  7. What is the logic behind not considering any applications in June?
  8. Why should clubs who don't want to be part of the senior leagues get a licence and be part of the senior Scottish Cup? I'm guessing people arguing in favour of that also support opening the junior cup to senior teams?
  9. Season 18/19? Funny that all of this information is coming out days before the EoS decide who is in.
  10. Hard to believe any team would change their decision to apply on the basis of recent speculation about the pyramid. Taking a huge gamble by counting on the juniors somehow slotting in next to the seniors at tier six in what would be the most illogical pyramid in the world surely.
  11. LTHV deserve a lot of credit on the pitch. They have been the best team and won every match against Kelty so far. As has been obvious for a long time, they could be a good Lowland League side (if they get the licence at some point). Off the pitch, they've not covered themselves in glory recently. Would have been a hell of a lot better if they'd kept quiet in the last few days and simply done their talking on the park. A bit disappointing to see although I'm sure that they won't care as long as they win the league.
  12. It's starting to look more likely that we'll end up with Threave being promoted this season. Not a great outcome for anyone involved as Threave resigned not too long ago from the Lowland League. One of the problems with having the SoS at tier six. Far from over and Kelty still have a good chance here but LTHV have beaten them every time so far.
  13. Tweet from LTHV: IF THIS GAME DOES NOT BRING THE FANS OUT NOTHING WILL NEW COMERS TRYING TO TAKE OUR TITLE AWAY FOLLOW THE TEAM ANOTHER HURDLE TO CLEAR
  14. On the talk of two promotion spots to Lowland League, has to be remembered that very few, if any, SoS clubs seem at all interested in promotion and only three have a licence. That will be in stark contrast to the EoS next season.
  15. Got to wonder how much of this is an attempt to stop junior clubs leaving for the seniors in the short term. Even if it's just rumours it might help prevent other juniors applying The idea of senior leagues and two junior leagues all sitting alongside each other feeding into the Lowland League makes absolutely no sense.
  16. I don't think LTHV are doing themselves any favours with those types of comments. This has been a long running issue. This season isn't the first time that they've had lots of postponements and they've had to play many times in a short period. Not a good idea to go down the conspiracy route. These issues happened when Kelty were still in the juniors last season as well. I hope they get their ground issues sorted for next season as they are clearly a good team on the pitch. If the EoS has to 14 team divisions next season then they could struggle even more with 26 league matches instead of 24.
  17. Which cup? The Scottish Amateur cup is still at the semis stage and St. Bernards are already out. Ah, just checked. It's the East of Scotland cup rather than the national amateur cup (the winners of the latter qualify for the senior Scottish cup).
  18. 6/15 confirmed now. Bonnyrigg, Camelon, Blackburn, Tranent, Dalkeith and Inverkeithing.
  19. I think it would be petty for the EoS to reject them on the basis that they previously left the league for the juniors. If they meet the requirements then they should be in. They've also built a new stand.
