1. I love Fir Park as much as the next 'Well fan, but we need to realise that the place is in its final years. It costs a lot of money to maintain each year.
With regards to the new stadium, I'm assuming the land next to the new College is where we'd be looking? In saying that, I hope theres someway of improving the transport links as one through road would get very busy very quickly on a matchday. I remember there was chat about opening a train station in Ravenscraig. Is that still a possibility?
As for how the stadium will look, I've got every confidence, with the people in charge we currently have, it won't be a horrendous St Mirren style effort.  If you take the time to look around (certainly around Scandinavia) then you'll find great wee stadiums around the 10,000 mark which would be ideal for us.
They are apparently building a link road from the M74 to the M8 that is going to run up through ravenscraig. No idea where our how but that was the chat a few months back when they announced the start of the next phase which has just started.

2. Is it just the main stand that is the drain in terms of upkeep, could it be replaced with a more modest single tiered effort and dispersing offices and hospitality between the new and existing stands
Don't think it is just the main stand, the pitch is a massive drain and the east must take a load upkeep as well, judging by the nick of the concourse yesterday after the rain.

I don't think there is much that could be done with the main anyway due to the houses and given the estates now where the old college was, I think we would get a fair whack by developers to carry that further up, houses basically back onto the south stand now.

A new stadium is hugely overdue and I anticipate it will be in this next phase of the ravenscraig development.
3. Florence is amazing, we were over last summer for a few days, based ourselves in Verona and as the above said did the opera, amazing and I'm in no way an opera fan, but Carmen outside by candlelight was unreal. Florence was only an hour and a half away and Bologna about half way so we chose Florence as the train times worked out better. Stunning views over the city and all the architecture was amazing as well as the tuscan food and wine. Would go back to either Verona or Florence again in a heartbeat.

4. I've not been here long, but caught up with the P&B Gold stuff early doors, most of which has reduced me to tears of laughter in work at various times.

But the best I've seen is the reason I came here to begin with, the Leigh Griffiths blog.

"As far as motivational techniques go it’s highly unconventional, but firing a semi-naked, knife-wielding Eddie Malone from a cannon into the midst of United’s training session at Tannadice is one heck of a team building exercise." still has me in tears every time I read it!

It's a tragedy that the blog is no longer online, having to piece it together on the original thread just isn't as good.... Any chance of a return of it somewhere dundeebarry

5. Think that’s an unfair comment on Aberdeen mate. We’re hardly playing with 11 in our own half. Despite having so many defenders on the pitch, this is the most attacking and positive I’ve seen us in weeks.
Every time we go forward it's 11 men behind the ball, it's effective but it's chronic to watch.

Cosgrove took advantage of us being down to 10 men with a guy who failed in the championship at centre back covering at the back and took his goal well, no doubt.

Other than that and a horrendous dive for the penalty, the game has been rancid but that'll suit Aberdeen just fine.
