Yer kidding? He bolted have way across the ice and superman punched an unsuspecting guy in the back of the head causing a concussion.
The only thing I can compare it to is Cantona fly kicking a fan and he got banned for 6 months?0 -
This sound relevant to my needs.
It's brilliant. Was in there for Saturday during the football season and was busy with Hertha fans getting ready for the game.
The beer exchange is a novel idea, although it only kicks off about 5 IIRC.
Food is decent too, a fine sausage platter (ooo-err).0 -
Pretty fucking hairy in Orlando right now. Forecasters got it way wrong. Eye didn't move out to coast and is coming right up and through downtown Orlando.

Some of the football we are playing is a joy to watch. Obviously against a much lower class of opposition, but should hopefully dispell this Robinson loves the long ball pish.
Lovely wee one touch pass and moves and wee flicks, backheels and reverse passes actually coming off.
McHugh, Bigi, Tanner and Cadden specifically seem to have really good chemistry.0 -
He's fell on his arse, hit the first man with a cross (twice) and ran into two players when trying to take them on.
Exactly as billed.0 -
Did you visit Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain or Neukoln?
No idea...we ventured down between Alexanderplatz to the tier garten and from the other side of the bank of the spree on friedrichstrasse to potsdamer platz and pretty much everywhere in between. What districts they are I couldn't tell you- other than what wr saw from the tour bus/boat0 -
Just back. What a city- very friendly people and very easy to navigate around.
Topography of terror was pretty deep but well worth seeing, stumbled upon the fuhrerbunker almost by accident as we wandered towards potsdamerplatz from the alt berliner wirsthaus.
Went to the hofbrau haus as recommended, good food, a live band and maibock by the stein. Went to Die Berliner Republik for lunch/football on Saturday. Didn't stay too late but I can imagine on a busy night that beer stock exchange idea must be pretty mental.
Hotel was up near Alexanderplatz so on our wanders we found a great pub the Lemke brauhaus - think there is a few of them right enough, seems to be a brewdog type set up. Another bar worth a visit was The Pub. Possibly one of the nicest burgers I've ever eaten and the pour your own beer is a good laugh. Again, a very novel idea....not sure it would work here right enough.0 -
Heading in May. Staying in a hotel right next to the DDR museum so will be doing that, fancy the topography of terror as well but any other suggestions other than what's listed above?
Not sure the missus would be up for the football although I notice Hertha are at home to Leipzig that weekend.
Any decent pub / food recommendations?0 -
I'd take the Stars coach in a heartbeat. Really impressed with him and the team he built on their budget.

Absolutely abject.

On an unrelated notwme, what's the Stars powerplay tune. Damn catchy.

Stars came out hot as they had to, had to get something to hold on to at Braehead. Unfortunately we made it easy for them with very little forecheck and almost non existent passing ability.
Goal 1 was typical of the season where Wharton (I'm pretty sure) was found far too high up the ice and left us exposed at the back for the quick breal. Goal 2 is a blur but was a classic Clan giveaway in under 1 minute left in a period. For goal 3, Rosehill hung us out to dry by first of all losing control behind the net and then regaining it and poking it right out in front to Stars most dangerous player. Suicide.
Offensively we were so poor, nothing clicked and Peacock was about the only one I'd give passmarks to.
It was a well officiated game I felt, plenty of needle but didn't overspill although I get the feeling that if tough guy Cescon wants to remove his motorcycle helmet tomorrow when he's acting the big man he'll find a few willing combatants. There's not one player in the league I'd love to see get a sore face above Joey Sides too. Deserves a 2 minute to start every game for that tash alone.
Big first period tomorrow, Clan start hot as they can do it's game on, Stars score and it's good night and thanks for playing.0 -
Should be a very good affair, the games have been very tight as the season series shows. I have to fancy Clan over the two nights but it's going to be two high scoring games. Could be a case of last goal wins.

Clan vs Stars it is then. Good that at least one Scottish team will be at the final 4...

Horrible news on Mike Hammond's injury today. Done his complete mcl tear as well as damaged acl and lcl. Horrendous injury for such a quick, skillful player to take and recover from.
Hopefully he can recover to somewhere near the level he was as on his day, it was plain to see, he was a class above the EIHL.0 -
Really hope it is Stars we play. Usually good games and not bad for travelling. Hopefully the Stars fans would come out for this one.

Someone obviously put a fiver on him with a bookie and that flipped the odds. I'd be stunned if we went with Hughes, certainly wouldn't get the fans going...

Having watched the highlights i dont see what Halas gets wrong.
Couple of soft hooking calls that every team gets but got all big calls right, indeed went soft on some Clan checks to head.
Lefebvre said on Stars podcast that having watched it again he was harsh on refs.
No way Leavitt deserved to get tossed, Rosehill high sticks was never a 2 + 2 (led to ejection as he lost it), the very idea of Zach Sullivan doing anything that would constitute abuse of official is laughable.
Cowick getting 2 for pushing the Star away from squaring up to him, never a 2.
He missed a few calls on stars which, in my mind were probably non-calls, but he would call the Clan for the exact same.
He's simply not good enough to ref at this level yet, never has a game without some controversy (see him awarding a goal for the Devils vs Clan where the puck didn't cross before his linesman corrected him despite Halas being right at the goal and the lineo not). We need refs to develop to replace those leaving but he's simply not at that level yet and the Clan organisation and fans will be against him from the first whistle in all future matches unless some sanction is taken.

Going to see Clan is a 3000 sell out in an ultra modern rink. Caps will be 800 in a dilapidated freezing old warehouse.
I actually quite like the old style charm of Edinburgh but I can't imagine they get many new customers coming back who aren't already hockey fans.
I think if Edinburgh were able to rip out those old seats and modernise the spectator facilities it would go a long way to improving return visitors - the old seats, some with missing backs, others patched up with duct tape, are a pain.
As I understand it they can't be removed or replaced as part of the rink being listed?0 -
I've never understood why folk call Murrayfield cold, especially football fans. In terms of climate I'd take indoor Murrayfield over Fir Park eight times out of ten throughout the season.
I curl so spend a lot of time in rinks and have been to all scottish EIHL rinks and the coldness of Edinburgh is extreme. Difference from the fitba is the fact you can generally stand up and move about more than at the hockey.
I like Edinburgh (probably second only to the DIA) but at the last Edinburgh game I went outside during a period break to heat up.

Cold. So very cold.

Should be fine. Will be very few, if any, making the trip from Cardiff so I'd imagine there'll be almost a full block unsold at least.

Depends who we're playing. What fixture you looking at?

Think this was the Braehead Clan advertised pre season. Fast breaking, hard hitting and free scoring with all lines contributing. 17 goals in 3 games. Long may it continue.

It's an absolute hole for departures. Arrivals not so bad but aye, horrible on the way out.
