  1. Old people at cashlines.

I GUARANTEE you it's a three stage operation.

    1. Card in. Avoid the "check on screen balance" button and proceed directly to "print mini statement" button. Take staement and absolutely avoid the "carry out another transaction" button and press cancel.
    2. Scrutinise the mini statement with your feeble eyesight ensuring that your available balance is checked, double checked and if your wife/husband (assuming they are still alive) is with you get them to double check it.
    3. Re-enter your card and withdraw £10. Of course. Because you always wanted money didn't you???

    b*****dS......................

Have you ever encountered step 4: Re-enter your card and take another mini statement/printed balance.

Because subtracting 10 is so difficult.

  2. The post office round the corner from me doesn't do the check and send service, so took a wander up to Cathcart office.

Not a moan that, but the fact that the moment I got out the close the heavens opened and started pissing on me, and didn;t relent till I got back in, thus soaking me to the skin and then clearing up (relatively) as if to wind me up.

  3. That's far too sensible an idea for Scotrail, but I don't think there's any way for the train to swap tracks between Queen's Park and Cathcart, meaning that you could only have one train at a time between the two stations. However, that would probably be a better service than you'll get with the buses.

There must be a possibility to do it where the big junction is at the signal box is.

Saw people on the train today with leaflets about the timetable change I think, but didn't see any being given out.

  4. Ron Burgundy bought the house next door.

Yours up for sale now too?

Letting agent being phoned just now

If you've got a train season ticket, that'll be accepted on the bus anyways, however you'd be as well to buy a bus season ticket if you've not, as single fares and all day tickets are expensive compared to the train.

The bus prices are a joke, £1.50 to town? Away!

I think, if it's after 10am, I'd be just as quick and cheap walking round to KP and using my YP card than getting crushed up in a bus.

If the problem is at Pollokshields, which it appears to be, why don't they just run trains round the cirlce to Queens Park and then back the other way?

  5. I'm about 2-3 mins walk from Mount Florida station, so it's a bit of a bummer. The 66 stops on my street wheras the 44 stop is a few minutes away, but I prefer the 44 as it doesn't do a magical mystery tour of the Gorbals and Merchant City.

Feck knows what the problem is at Pollokshields East. I had a nosey out the window a few times. Some of the sleepers look a bit fucked, but there sees to be subsidence between the tracks too.

I'm in the exact same position as you, I'm not sure what will be easier though/quicker/cheaper if I'm better walking to KP station or getting the 66, as it stops literally at my front door.

Talking of front doors, I was on holiday last week, and now it seems half of my street is up for sale.

    What did I miss?
