  1. Deep breaths....

    Big inhale

    Then a..

    Big exhale

Repeat at least how many times Cowden have won a league title, you should feel better.

Cowden five times. Stenny the only club never to have won a league title.
  2. Garrad, Weekes, Osborne, Jarron, Berry and Lemon are also recent "academy players" - although not necessarily full-time academies.  Martins and Farrell were also full-time youth players with Morton.
I'm not sure what point you are trying to make.    If these players have ability and potential yet they are second bottom of the Lowland League then surely the fault lies with the Manager and Coaching Staff.   If you are saying that they are players from a lower level than Cowden and this is the best we can expect then we might as well give up.        I bought a season ticket and watched all the games up to and including Dalbeattie but I will not be back until there are major changes.    Some players lack the most basic abilities.  The tactics employed are brutal to watch.  The "coaching" from the Manager during the game is poor.  So sad.

I’ve been at Cowden games for a long time but the performance against Dalbeattie was the worst I have seen against the poorest team. A game we could have lost.
I don’t blame the players, it’s not their fault if they aren’t good enough.
  3. What are your proposals for sorting it? How does it get sorted and sorted now?
You allude earlier should have went for a blend of youth and experience. You are paying biscuit tin money so are left with what you are left with, what experience players are going to go to Cowdenbeath for buttons a week? Some names of realistic, experience players who could have pitched up at Cowdenbeath?
You are barely scraping 100 fans and that could get worse so yes, unfortunately, Cowdenbeath's short to medium term goal has to be survival as a club and a blend of youth and experience is fantasy land stuff at this stage. It must be difficult watching what you are watching but the likes of yourself and Aberdeen Cowden throwing in the towel with the club you have supported all your life (I'm assuming) isn't the answer either. Be stronger, get your head around where you really are as a club and get behind them moving forward or times will never change for the better.
I look forward to seeing you all next season in the Lowland League.

If you spend five hours driving (and that’s for a home game) and the best part of £80 every Saturday I’m sure it would make you think twice. It’s not so much the cost but when you see what’s on offer it is so depressing.
  4. I get what you are saying but would there be any point paying £x to pay off the manager, if the man coming in had similar to work with player wise? Would seem unlikely that anyone else would have access to players who want to come here on a shoestring budget (if there is even scope to add anymore contracts to the payroll).

    Aye, we have been shafted.
  5. 15 games without a win now. Maurice has to go.

No signs of improvement and the multiple subs at half time in the last two games show he got the line up wrong to start the games.

    It's not working.

Problem now is what’s he going to leave behind? This is disgraceful.
  6. This would all be humiliating stuff but we have fallen that far that no one even knows how absolutely shite we are doing.

I do. That’s why I am staying at home. Still waiting to see some comments from the manager.
  7. Suppose we may see the new keeper and defender.
Cumbernauld can score plenty of goals and ship plenty looking at their scores so at least it shouldn’t be a 0-0.

Scored five against Dalbeattie,as we should have done.
  8. I disagree a little with your first statement, particularly given the experience we had in our squad last season, compared to virtually zero this year.
Had an awful run of results and performances last year around this time for a couple of months.  Not sure anything this year has been as dismal as Civil Service in the cup.
It would be good to hear from the manager more often, seems there is a bit of a veil of silence, particularly regarding player availability/injuries, the communication to fans (other than Nelly on here) is quite poor.

We haven’t won a game yet. If we played CSS with that team, we’d get thrashed.
  9. It can certainly be more of a transition than people realise. Berwick Rangers first 6 games saw them take just 4 points. And it didn't get much better after that for a while. It's really just the one relegation spot to panic about. So even though it's bad, there's a chance at recovery.
    Berwick Rangers 3-5 Bonnyrigg Rose
    Berwick Rangers 1-2 Stirling University
    Edinburgh University 0-1 Berwick Rangers
Berwick Rangers 1-3 Civil Service Strollers
    Gala FR 2-2 Berwick Rangers
    East Kilbride 3-2 Berwick Rangers

Cowden are very poor though with no leaders on the park and a manager whose competence is now being questioned more and more.
In the results you quoted Berwick were scoring, Cowden can’t, no shots on target yesterday against a poor side.
  10. That was the worst game of football I've seen. Both sides will be relegation candidates.
For the last few seasons in SPFL we had a side that would have finished mid to lower table in the Lowland League.
Now we have a boys club playing Lowland League and it's playing out as I expected. Ross and the youth experiment is not working.
Another long painful season for Cowden and Eosfl football next season.

Agree with this. Today was just awful, much worse than anything seen last season.
Keeper not kicking the ball, rolls the ball to a defender who hoofs it up the park, ball goes out of play or straight to an opposition defender. Time after time, what’s that all about?
Like the man said “ you can’t win anything with kids”
Nothing there to tempt fans to return sadly.
I’d love to hear how the manager thinks the season is going.
  11. Lose tomorrow and we really do have big problems.
Dalbeattie have a game in hand on us as well.

It’s getting ridiculous now. It’s only August and we are starting to worry how this season will finish. If we really cannot get away from the bottom it’s time we packed it all in.
  12. Yes i know that.but my point was there is relegation and there could be a second club relegated if a highland league team wins the playoff say against east fife

This has been worked to death now.
  13. If we had more street wise players we could do the same to refs, welcome to non league football.
Out of interest as their all new who would you say are our best players.
I would stick my neck out and say the trialist 10 was our best  player today.

Players going down every time they lost the ball. Constantly feigning injury. Too streetwise for the Cowden lads.
Two free kicks at the edge of the box, both hit sky high. Not good.
Played really well at times. You just knew that if we hadn’t lost a goal in open play, the opposition would have been given a penalty.
  14. Some thoughts re Facebook comments mainly.

Replace Board with interim management committee - who will serve on this committee and ensure continuity of funding?  A new owner - who, what are they bringing to the party?  Just nebulously Calling for change is not delivering change - board not at all averse to change but there needs to be substance to that not rhetoric.

Kelty Hearts situation has little or no relevance to Cowden’s problems.  Good luck to Kelty

Bottom line is that the local population/council have NO interest in the football club. Even although a successful club will generate a lot of of money for the town. Many of the loyal fans don’t even live in Cowdenbeath.
Just look at the difference a successful club has made to Arbroath. There’s a real buzz about the place, kids out and about wearing the club tops, businesses doing well.
Sad times, there is no quick fix.
  15. There were 4 players missing so had to get 2 trialists to make a small bench of 3/4 , but you’re comment about the game is still fair.
Broomhill were easily superior in most areas and Gary Fraser must have enjoyed playing in that game.

Would the missing players have made a difference? Doubtful.
Yes it’s early days and the players are really trying but it’s difficult to be optimistic from what I’ve seen.
  16. You have to be brutally honest and realise that we are where we should be, toiling at the bottom end of the table. We were never going to challenge at the top end of the table with the team we now have. Unless there are any significant changes, which is unlikely, then the best we can realistically hope for is finishing third or fourth bottom. If anyone thinks different, then they are in for a rude awakening. I hope we can improve going forward, but you have to be realistic.

We don’t have a playmaker and didn’t have one last season. Someone pulling the strings on the park who can make things happen. Every team has someone like that.
When Colin Cameron came to Cowden, what a difference.
I can’t see us winning a game if things stay the same.
