  1. That statement is fucking stinking. The part that where they say "We consider him part of Raith Rovers" is honestly disgusting, on two levels. Firstly that they consider themselves (I assume those 4 directors) the arbitrators of who is and isn't "part of Raith", but secondly because I can't help but feel there's a strong inference that those who've raised issue with this are not really "part" of the club. Awful. Hope I don't come across as patronising when I say I feel really sorry for the Raith fans right now.
  2. Not going to repeat what's been said in the numerous posts above. Agree with pretty much all of it other than the couple of weirdos. As an aside - where does it go from here do we think? Because I get the impression that the board have made an arse of this for themselves regardless of what happens. Ultimately if they came out in a couple of days saying "lads, we got it wrong" and then (just as an example) they terminated Goodwillie's contact, it doesn't exactly just go away does it? Huge questions would still need to be asked of the leadership of the club as to how the decision making process has failed so spectacularly on this.
  3. Tickets have arrived by email, why after the past few games being the electronic scanners are they now "Print @ Home" tickets? Reckon the QR code will still work on your phone? ETA - never mind, there's a bit on the ticket that says "If you're using your phone..." so I guess this is still fine.
  4. The payment error often happens because you select the wrong card type. There's an option for VISA but also for VISA Debit, website doesn't like it if you pick the wrong one.
  5. I give this thread 72 hours before it's shut down. This debate is so toxic and usually filled with people with big opinions on things that will literally never affect them (or almost anyone) other than a small marginalised group. And more importantly, it's more often than not debated by folk that don't have a fucking clue about the subject matter, and I include myself as a fully paid up member when it comes to being relatively ignorant about it.
  6. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/news/scottish-news/8315674/brewdog-james-watt-bbc-disclosure-documentary/ I see he's now threatening legal action, including this rather sinister little tidbit: “However, if and when this ends up in court that anonymity can never be guaranteed and it is in the court’s discretion to order the BBC to reveal its sources. Worth noting he was asked to give "his side" but refused.
  7. I'd say it depends, probably on how many home games you'll go to in general. That being said - a few of my pals have been hassling me to get them tickets. Setting aside that it's no easier for me to get a ticket for them in the general sale, I just put to them - if a week before the game I was able to get you a ticket for £80 would you take it? The answer is pretty much always yes, so I'd say just join. There's a fair few of them gonna gamble on the general sale but I suspect there will be a fair few disappointments given there'll be, what, 15,000 available?
  8. That pause and...."both!" was marvellous.
  9. Have they not done the alcohol free drink as a task before?
  10. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/jan/19/science-covid-ineradicable-disease-prevention We were so close to the perfect "pivot in the face of public opinion" from Darling Devi. "In the UK the prime minister announced today that restrictions including masking requirements will be removed from next week, and self-isolation requirements will be reviewed in March. I think this is largely reasonable – all governments face the question of how to approach this new landscape." Until... "What does all this mean in terms of living with Covid-19? We still need to test. We still need to vaccinate and combat misinformation. We need to encourage people to wear medical-grade masks such as N95s in crowded and indoor settings. Employers need to recognise and support employees who have been identified as in a shielding group. We also need to review isolation and other policies so they remain safe, but are less disruptive to the functioning of society." Of course the Scottish Government's fetish for masks is fairly obvious, but I'm concerned that, as Devi has her ear, that we will move to a "masks are guidance" situation in the next few months meaning the weird moral high ground will still be taken by some folk and some businesses.
  11. She'll be back soon enough. She's got a book/speaking tour to punt in the spring.
  12. SFA getting pricing strategy pretty spot on...again. What's going on?! For those not in SSC - members can buy the package from end of January, members can buy single tickets from 14th Feb then general sale at the end of Feb.
  13. Indeed. I notice her lawyer was in the press saying that money alone wouldn't cut it but I'll still be surprised if this gets to court. I think Prince Andrew and "his team" will go to any length to stop him having to be asked any questions.
  14. I see the BBC is saying he'll be defending his case as a "private citizen". Does that mean we're still funding his legal team?
  15. I suspect I won't get a response unfortunately.
  16. She said that this is being considered over the next few weeks.
  17. Douglas Ross (I know...) just asked a great question about the additional restrictions. He asked very clearly, what evidence does she have that the passport scheme should be expanded or even considered to be. The question was completely ignored. Sturgeon is really all over the shop here.
  18. OK, fitba back. But hospitality being punished needlessly to save face, or something. As well as some shan explanation of the future "strategic framework" to come. No doubt that garbage will include masks forever. And of course the groundwork laid for the shan Covid passport scheme to be expanded. Inspired move by ScotGov now that the policy has achieved its desired aim of…. checks notes … having a higher rate of infection than restriction free England. My positivity lasted a grand total of 48 hours.
  19. Yes, certainly the impression I got. Much of the conversational layout would be me putting a question or an issue to John, him saying his view, before saying something like "But Nicola is doing/thinks/believes/wants to...". I pointed this out to him but we ended up down a bit of a rabbit hole in parliamentary procedure or something.
  20. This concerns me (the implication as previously that masks will be with us in the "longer term".
