  1. Good to see first start for Du Preez, and Jones and Fifita returning from injury, but yeah pretty much showing no interest in progressing and all the big names rested
  2. The issue will be if we get rid of GT now, unless we have someone already lined up, we are going to have to wait until England appoint their new coach as you would think all the top coaches will have there hats in the ring for both positions. Robertson was touted with us, Eng & Wal at the end of super rugby so would imagine he will be in demand. To be honest I have no idea who would be a likely candidate if we did get rid - there are no local candidates as far as I can see, although Stuart Lancaster would be an interesting shout. Bringing in Jones as a consultant or technical advisor to Toonie for 9 months would be ideal. I think Toonie is a good coach, he just changes his mind to often or overcomplicates / over thinks things. Having Jones there to bounce idea's off, or to tell him to stick to one style of play that works could be what we need through the world cup - even if its to kept GT in check and to tell him Finn's the first name on the team sheet every week
  3. I wonder if Wales were so quick to bring in Gatland as they already had an inkling that the RFU were sniffing round? I would imagine the RFU will go with interm until end of 6 Nations (ie Steve Borthwick has been touted) and see how that goes, although given the southern hemisphere is off season there is the possibility of a big name instead - ie Robertson. Im 50/50 on Jones for Scotland, more for what he did with a semi pro Japan side than anything else. With the players at his disposal he should have done better at England, but I get where he was coming from with the pampered public school boy comments, and he would be coming to pretty much more of the same at Scotland.
  4. Finally finished it as I got really bored at the start of this season and didnt catch back up, but blitzed about 10 episodes over the last few days. After quite a few really poor seasons I thought some of the last few episodes, from probably Negan showing up again when the commonwealth / CIA guy try to take down the tower block, were pretty good, infact probably the best since Rick left. Glad is finished now though. Have seen any of fear since the end of season 6 - did he nuclear bomb actually go off, and if so was it ever mention on the walking dead?
  5. Better 2nd half but its an improvement only up to levels of being competent rather than good, but enough to get past Zebre
  6. At be I dont think he would be any higher up the pecking order with us rather than Ireland, at best he would be 3rd or 4th choice, maybe even lower down the pecking order. Its not a position we are struggling for options for, he would maybe get 1 or 2 years at best out of him. I get Dempsey as its a position we are short of options, and he still has plenty of years left, I would be suprised if we entertained Conney.
  7. yeah we may be a differenet tier this time, but only difference is we are pitchside rather than half way up the stand. Yeah we were £100 last time in Cardiff, we do the Wales game every year, and to be honest prefer Cardiff to Edinburgh
  8. Im sure our tickets are actually less than last time - we were £80 4 years ago vs Wales and only £60 this time out for much the same area, but closer to pitch side. On the otherhand when we went to Wales this year they had added £20 to price from last visit that was voided by Covid
  9. Thought Andor was amazing, probably slightly ahead of Mandalorian in terms of star wars TV series, and easily ahead of Kenobi and Book of Fett - didnt realise there was an end credit scene will have to go back and watch it again now!
  10. So apart from a couple a stragglers next week, the Autumn window is now closed and all eyes turn to the 6 nations then the world cup in france. Its been some month, a seemingly successful womens world cup in NZ, historic wins for Italy over Australia and Georgia beating Wales for there 2nd victory over a 6 nations side. Also there will be no North American interest in a rugby world cup for the first time as the US, who are hosting the event in 8 years lose to Portugal in the last game of the repachage. Obviously the ref has now been struck of World Rugbys ref's list for not keeping to message. Looks like the SLAR is doing a better job than MLR in getting players ready or International rugby with both Uruguay and Chile qualifing ahead of the US and Canada. Looking at the current form and the world cup draw, you would have to concede that Ireland (and all there cheating) are still probably the top team at the moment, followed closely by SA and France. NZ's aura seems to have slipped and I would put them in 4th follows closely by us and England. Sitting just below you would have Aus (who have been woeful all November), Wales, Argentina, Italy and Japan, with Georgia, Samoa and Fiji waiting for any slip ups or off days. Unforutnately the way the draw has been done groups A&B and C&D are kept apart until the final as the quarters and semi's keeps the groups apart. Unfortunately for us groups A&B contain all the big guns so 2 of FR/NZ/IT/SA/IE/SCO dont make the quarters and another 2 dont make the semi's. So 2 of the 4 best teams currently wont make the semis seems madness. Group C&D are Wales, Aus, Geo, Fiji, Eng, Arg, Jap so 2 of those make the semi's and one makes a Final! Wales and Aus are in a group with Georgia and Fiji, I so hope one of them finishes 4th and gets stuck having to qualify
  11. Cracking PPV, even the pre-show had 3 excellent matches - was good to eventually see Danhausen as outside of 1 hookhausen match hes hardly wrestled. 5 hours is a slog, but thought all the matches delivered and there was no fat to trim
  12. A bit like last week, when we play we are excellent, but we just cant do it for the full match. Today we should have ran in 2 or 3 tries when they were down to 12, yet managed only 1 and lost 1. In the end its a convincing win, but should have been so much more
  13. thats the most scottish thing ever
  14. ooft, we need to run a few in now
  15. get in, hope Georgia can hold on here
  16. Hopefully the tmo dissallows this
  17. Georgia looked done the last 15 minutes of the first half, but have managed to slow things down a bit and have managed to get back into the game. and since the sin bin have been much better than Wales
  18. Decent try for Georgia, at least Wales get punished with Cuthbert in the sin bin
  19. and just the yellow for Cuthbert, winger landed on his head
  20. Should be red for the welsh winger, same as dupont last week, but as its Wales v Georgia, will be lucky if theres a card
  21. Wales Georgia is nothing to right home about
  22. Chris Harris Nominated for Try of year, full list below
  23. Eloise - Dammed Gloria - Van Morrison Valery - Mark Ronson Evangeline - icicle works Sheila take a bow - the smiths
  24. The problem Scotland have is that we never seem likely to score from pick and go's on the goal line. If it was NZ, Ireland, SA, France, England and even Wales or Argentina you expect them to get at least 1, if not 2 or 3 tries from those opportunities on the goal line, yet Scotland just cough up the ball. Until we start taking those we wont be beating the top teams regularly. Yes we play some brilliant rugby and score great tries, but we are still missing the basics
