  1. I dont think we will, its more an illustration of how bad the rest of the league is
  2. Apart from Hearts everyone has had a horrendous run at some point. If you were an eternal optimist you could say we are only 7 points behind 4th, with 11 games to go and from Dundee down nobody is exactly on fire, QotS and Arbroath are on decent runs but are hardly world beaters. A win this week then a new manager bounce and you never know - we still have to play Dundee twice, which would then leave us needing just to better their results by 1 point . Obviously I dont think its likely, and limping into 7th or 8th is probably as good an outcome as we can expect, just 4th is not impossible
  3. Thats 5 out of 6 signings (3 each from both teams) that are all Scottish Qualified, the Ozzie back row the exception, and all with decent pedigree, all pretty young with plenty to prove. Granted there are some big name leaving but good to see some quality signings coming in.
  4. How do you think he is going to sign players, as obviously he only knows the players of the Kashmir coast?
  5. Weir was mid 30's and passed it when he came to Ayr, 1 season and retired if I remember rightly. Most of Burleys time was mid table 1st Division, we did get to the final of the B&Q cup twice which seemed like an achievement back then
  6. We are looking to be building a decent squad for next season, and with how well some of the youngsters are playing im a bit more confident for next season. Im hoping Thomson gets some decent game time next year, I hope him and Weir get equal time as he looks a cracking prospect, as does Dobie. They are both not flashy, just seem to do the basics really well.
  7. Whats Gary Teale been up to since leaving St Mirren?
  8. After 3 weeks of West Lothian is east because its always been is obviously the best way to do it
  9. Instead of using old county borders why not bring the debate into the 21st century, and use googlemaps to solve all our problems. Put a pin in the centre of Glasgow and a pin in the centre of Edinburgh, then measure the distance from a clubs ground to each pin on the map. Closer to Glasgow - WoSL, closer to Edinburgh EoSL. Not having measured but I would assume Harthill are bang in the middle between the 2, but it would probably shunt Forth east and I think puts Falkirk WoSL, but Grangemouth EoSL. Time for a Radical shake up i think
  10. I dont think any of the names so far are in anyway inspiring. Im hoping its not someone mentioned so far, but cant think of anyone. I would be hoping for someone with previous management experience ideally at Championship level or above. Someone similar to Mccall would be a shout (without the gambling issues obvs), been a manager then had sometime away, but ideally still involved in football ie as a coach at a big club, who has decided it was time to get back into management. I have no names to add, but that would fit my bill
  11. Stupid from Hastings there, surely will miss the rest of the 6 Nations now
  12. it would be a closer game if Nakarawa didnt drop the ball everytime he had it Jones is having a good game, best he's played in a while
  13. Caught up with the Edinburgh Scarlets game there, quite an enjoyable game as both teams were equally as bad as each other. Poor start for Glasgow against Leinster - also quite strange as there didn't seem to be any team announcements for either this weekend
  14. FTFY, no difference to the last Lions then
  15. Im not disagreeing, but going into the 6 Nations everyone would have had them finishing 4th or 5th and there were plenty calls for Pivacs head, yet 2 red cards and a dodgy ref and they are top of the table. They annoying thing is that we never seem to get the rub from the ref that Wales and Ireland do.
  16. Some turn around for Wales, Pivac was close to being out on his ear after the AI's, 3 games later and there within touching distance of a Grand Slam. There not even close to being a good team either
  17. To be fair we are missing someone out wide that has a bit of pace that can stretch and cause defences problems, the only proper winger we have is Zanata (and has had plenty of chances and not really impressed), McCowan, Smith or Walsh are more attacking midfielders and while technically good are all kinda the same player. I dont know if Fotheringham fits that mould but anyone with a bit of pace and urgency would be an asset at the moment.
  18. Still 30 months to go but match fixtures from WC are out Planning on going to the Europe 2 game in Lille as closest to get too
  19. Another decent looking signing for Glasgow, things starting to look good for next season - well an improvment on this one at least https://www.theoffsideline.com/glasgow-warriors-sign-cole-forbes/?v=79cba1185463
  20. We should be demanding November window or we take the win as we wont have players available. Any other date is giving the advantage to France
  21. Embra through to the last 16 of the Champions Cup and Glasgow into the last 16 of the Challenge Cup. Draw is 9th March, obviously Edinbugh will get a tough draw, Racing 92, Leinster, Wasps, Bordeaux and Munster all guaranteed a home match so its either one of those away, or one of with Lyon, Toulouse, La Rochelle, Scarlets, Clermont Auvergne, Bristol, Exeter, Gloucester, Toulon and Sale and wouldn't fancy any of those either Glasgow are a bit easier obviously London Irish, Ospreys and Leicester will each be guaranteed a home fixture, with the other teams being Cardiff Blues, Zebre, Agen, Benetton, Newcastle Falcons, Ulster, Connacht, Northampton Saints, Bath, Montpellier, Dragons, and Harlequins. With the Internationals back and a bit of form and a decent draw Glasgow could do quite well. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/56184748
  22. Kelly Brown has left Glasgow, to return to London. Hopefully we get a decent addition as defence coach
  23. I've backed Kerr in the past, but like others have said I think he has 2 games to turn things round, or we are in the mire. He's stuck by the 4-2-3-1 all season and it hasn't looked like working for most of it. He probably thought that Wright signing was the final piece of the jigsaw, but the fact he has no other plan or tactics is shocking. On paper I think everyone thought we would have a cracking team, but from the start I was worried we were top heavy in having too many attacking players who are all too similar. If Kerr wants to keep his job he should be going back to the drawing board and looking at something different. As others have said I would go to a basic 4-4-2 as a starting point to try and be a bit more solid. I would also gamble and go with Ndaba and McGavin in the middle as I think they would offer more energy and pace in their and Ndaba would offer more physicallity. I would get Reading back in at left back as I think he has a lot to offer. The first month or so I thought he was one of our better players, but a few mistakes and he has been dropped and not seen again. 4 points out of these 2 games would be huge. Remember we are still sitting 4 points off of 4th and if things suddenly click we are in the promotion play off - however if there isnt an improvement we are staring at relegation. Its a good call getting an experienced coach in to help. Even someone that could just motivate the players as they look like they need it.
  24. They can still call players up to the squad, as long as they have been getting regualr tests at their clubs, which most will be. Im sure most countries have a reserve pool of players who have been following the strict testing regimes of the international squads, which is above what the clubs have been doing normally. I think this will either go ahead this week or next. Even next saturday you would have thought the majority testing positive now will still be unavailable next weekend (I assume its 10 days from positive test, but still need a negative to joing back up with the squad?). I think the French will realise that and go with this weekend as normal but with a weakened team. End of the tourney is probably a no go as they like to have all the games on the same day to avoid any tactics on what teams need to win.
  25. Surely with the stringent rules applied by World Rugby, the fact he is called McKay makes him Scottish enough to be starting against France next weekend?
