  1. McGhee is miles better than Meekings. Meekings is far too weak for my liking, better still than Forster though. Coll Donaldson, surely not? Jeez the standard must be bad! I can’t even think so fair play for managing to come up with something.
  2. Completely agree with all of this. Forster is atrocious on the ball and generally just very scary. McDaid was excellent, real energy and his workrate doing the dirty side of the game was impressive. Hemmings is a class above and will score goals. Should have scored today but was maybe surprised that the ball fell to him at the back post. I worry about our defence tbh McGhee aside. Get Jack Hendry in...
  3. Utd been poor but fancy then to go on and get a winner now. Robson and Connolly massive weaknesses. Shankland is a massive threat, hardly had a sniff and scores with his first proper chance albeit fortuitously.
  4. Dunfermline were excellent in the first half. Can’t help but get the impression that they won’t sustain that sort of performance for very long. Certainly need to be fitter and it’ll be interesting to see them against other sides as the season progresses. We’ve came away with a draw in a game we were largely abysmal. Got to say, I’m worried about our full backs being used as wingbacks and our centre half’s (McGhee aside) being required to cover the space in behind - they looked incredibly uncomfortable. Meekings couldn’t wait to get off the pitch and he was bossed physically. Positives - Fin Robertson is class. Johnson will score goals. McDaid and Todd looked a threat and still Jamie Ness to return. Still need at least three new players in.
  5. He’s just as I remember him at Dens. Keeps it simple but he doesn’t really have a standout attribute. He’s not brilliant on the ball, he’s not athletic, he’s not particularly physical or imposing, he’s not quick. He’s just OK but I’d imagine not that difficult to play against. The guy next to him is an absolute clogger though, not an ounce of football in him.
  6. Comfortable enough to be honest. Enjoyed that - we look really strong defensively and can already see Johnson will add a lot besides goals. Finlay Robertson is class!
  7. Great signing! Huge pressure now. Just need Ogren/Neilson to come out and say ‘second is nowhere’ now.
  8. This. McIntyre is doing an excellent job. We’d be stranded if McCann was still in charge. We’ve got a chance now but if we do go down I’d stick with McIntyre too.
  9. Some window from the Arabs. That team, on paper, would stay up in the Premiership. Huge pressure to deliver now though.
  10. Genuinely curious as to how you’ve now ended up with an assistant from the USA? Clearly forced on to Neilson? If I’ve missed why then apologies.
  11. I was surprised to see McIntyre jumping around looking for a red card but on closer inspection it seems he’s actually having a go at Curran and certainly seems to shout his name. I could well be wrong and if so, it’s poor to see.
  12. I think McIntyre is a good appointment considering the current context we find ourselves in. Appointing Dodds would clearly be a huge blunder by the club. And it certainly wouldn’t help McIntyre. What’s the situation with our players out on loan? Can we recall? Would imagine McIntyre would want to reassess the squad.
  13. Cracking player! Got a big future for us. Excellent in both boxes and although prone to an error from time to time he has shown he is good enough for the top flight. 22 appearances last season and he looked not a joy out of place.
  14. Difficult to turn down that money for a young CH who we only signed on a free six months ago. Huge potential. Need a CH in now. I trust McCann’s judgement in players so fingers crossed he can somehow unearth a replacement. Murray will stretch teams for us and give us pace which we lack up top. He’s also a workhorse. However, I am absolutely deflated. Trying to find the positives but we are now significantly weaker.
  15. I'm not sure. I think the last derby gave us false hope as a creative, free-flowing footballing side. I think we've found out that it works against sides like Dundee Utd but certainly doesn't in the top flight. No idea where we go from here.
  16. Right, but the context of my point was in relation to the assertion that our defensive record is poor thus our defenders are poor. That's not the case IMO. It's how we're set up as a team and our style of play that is leading to the concession of goals. Our players simply aren't good enough to carry out the style of play that McCann is trying to adopt. Simple as that.
  17. You'd be an idiot to think defensive records are down to individuals within a defence. In Hendry, Meekings and Waddel, we have excellent defenders. However, as a team we are too easy to play against. The constant tinkering by McCann is not helping either.
  18. The problem now is that as the confidence in the camp lowers (by virtue of being bottom of the league) then so does the ability to play McCann's style of football. A good striker would convert a lot of our chances but we're conceding a lot too. I actually think we have better defenders than we have for some time. It all points to McCann's lack of strategy for the players that we have. And I think that is reflected in his constant tinkering of the team. I feel there's a lot of potential but I worry that we're going to go down if we don't become more street wise.
  19. Thought we were excellent today. Really like the way McCann is shaping the side. Hendry, Meekings, Kamara, and Spence were all standouts for us. Just need to continue the form and get a few wins to boost us away from the play-off spot.
  20. Wow, you're full of self-importance these days eh?
  21. The darkness? Not posting on here = darkness? Who cares what decision they made, Dave MacKay decided to change his employers, presumably for more money - what's so wrong with that? Would you never change employment for more money? I wont be attending - doesn't interest me in the slightest.
  22. Jesus, you need to take a step back. I think if you substituted 'Dundee FC' for any other business name in this scenario then you'd see that he made a decision that most of us would have. Unless of course you feel he should have been unconditionally loyal to Dundee FC and fans like yourself.
