  1. That Motherwell defence is nearly as bad as ours. Will still keep a clean sheet though.
  2. I expected Motherwell to win but watching that Dundee side is tragic. Ness, Byrne, McGowan (reluctantly because he’s gave his all), Meekings, Kerr, and Hamilton. All either incredibly poor and/or finished. Team lacks anything to get remotely excited about. Stale, predictable, and hopefully soon-to-be managerless.
  3. I must be one of the very few who actually feel Todd has something to offer. The fact Mackie plays ahead of him is not necessarily a sign of Todd’s ineptitude - in this case it’s more likely a sign of McPake’s ineptitude.
  4. Utd will be fine next season if they sort their central defenders out and add one or two elsewhere / retain Shankland. Wait, this is a Dundee thread - what’s going on here?
  5. With the players we have we should be challenging for first place. It’s difficult to agree with that right now because we’re so far away from first but a decent manager would have us challenging IMO. That’s also on the basis that a decent manager would not have remained so loyal to Hamilton and would have attempted to remedy the centre half shambles (McGhee aside). A new manager now would give us a chance of second and some momentum going into the play-offs. As it stands, we won’t make the play-offs - it’ll be close come the end of season for a fourth place finish but we’ll miss out, it’s the Dundee way these days. Even Mark McGee would be an improvement [emoji85]
  6. Retaining Dorrans would be an incredible window for us. However, I fear otherwise. Could still be a really successful season for us but only if we can build on recent weeks and Dorrans is key to that.
  7. John Robertson hoofball will make this a difficult game. 2-0 win in the end though for the Dee.
  8. Deserved win. Rangers miles ahead in pretty much every aspect. Surprised to see Celtic look so weak. Brown tried to pump up his side in the huddle before the match, but Rangers looked much more relaxed and composed in their performance. Interesting title race!
  9. One good performance isn’t enough for me to change my mind on McPake. However, if we put a consistent run together in the second half of the season and gave the play-offs a good go then...
  10. Thought Meekings was excellent alongside the ever reliable McGee. Hemmings, Dorrans and Marshall also excellent I thought.
  11. Thought we were the better team, was heartening to see fight from the side, they gave it everything. Thought Hemmings was excellent, won everything he went for. Wasn’t impressed by Utd at all and was probably the only derby in years that I actually felt comfortable when Utd were in possession, I’m usually shitting it. However, it’s a good point for the DABS and the league is virtually done and dusted. All the best in the top flight, bit of a rebuild needed.
  12. Overheard Troy Brown on his phone today in Pound Stretcher (I work next to it) believe it or not and he was saying he’s fed up with manager etc and has been offered 1k a week at Crawley. Sounds like a ridiculous story but true. Nae pics tho so maybe it never happened.
  13. I actually wasn’t remotely bothered at the prospect of Dunfermline getting an equaliser such is my absolute apathy just now. That’s shocking I know but it’s how I feel. I’ll take my negativity elsewhere...
  14. This has to be the most apathetic I’ve felt as a Dundee fan for as long as I can remember. The team has absolutely no identity or personality, a mirror reflection of the manager himself. We have, on paper, some very good players for this level but we do admittedly also have some absolute garbage (ala Hamilton, Forster, Mackie, Byrne, Meekings). Nevertheless. a half decent manager would be able to cultivate a team from what we have that could challenge for a crack at the play-offs. We don’t have that though unfortunately - Dundee 1-3 Dunfermline.
  15. Deserved Queens win. Queens tactics spot on. Wanted it more, had more quality in final third and defended better. Dundee are horrific.
  16. Genuinely, what was wrong with Jim Duffy? I wasn’t following the league whilst he was in charge but from afar it seemed he was doing well?
  17. Best team won. We need to take it on the chin and continue to rebuild. However, having said that, I don’t think McPake inspires much hope to be honest and I’d be saying that regardless of the outcome of the derby. I’m not convinced he has what it takes tactically to mount any serious challenge for promotion.
  18. I work in a primary school and we’ve gave out 60 tickets to children and parents. I believe most primary schools received a similar allocation. [emoji102]
  19. Morton are probably the worst team I’ve watched in the last few seasons - actually shocked at how bad they are. Turgid, kick it where you’re looking stuff. Forgot how many times the left footed centre half sliced the ball out the park, makes Forster look like Van Dijk. 3 wins on the spin, nervous for next week though!
  20. Deserved win, saw out the second half comfortably. I expected Ayr to have a good go but they struggled to muster a decent chance second half. Good win.
  21. If not Jack Ross (would he been keen on Dundee anyway) who would fans have instead of McPake?
  22. Thoroughly deserved win for Thistle in the end but we ‘could’ have been out of sight by half time. Thistle the better team for last hour of the match. Gonna be a long season. Subs baffled me today (what do I know) and I feel our midfield lacks energy even if Dorrans is class on the ball. I think we need three in the middle with him in the side to be honest. Nelson and Johnson must be fuming sitting on that bench week in week out. I hate to be one of those fans after a defeat but I’m struggling to see McPake as a competent manager.
  23. Dens is a riot. Geez a new stadium. The Americans are utterly clueless. Dundee have the best individual players in the league. Neil McCann would have us shitting on this league. Eddie Annand was better than James Grady. Steven Boyack should have played for Scotland.
