  1. Not confident about this at all. Will we ever start Mullin and Forrest? Getting a bit infuriating now. Surely isn’t a binary choice for Holt.
  2. It sounds like both sets of fans are likely equally as pessimistic as each other about this one. Two teams who can’t buy a win the now. Very much a must-win game for us, despite it being away. Saturday was a terrible performance, and as others have said, probably our worst since we were relegated to League 1. Any win would do me, any at all.
  3. Kind of goes without saying, but I'm baffled how we've went from being defensively solid last season to being utterly powderpuff this. The only real changes are the loss of Dykes and Lawless, and Ambrose's move into the starting XI. Lawless and Dykes are major misses, no doubt about, but I think Lawless and up until recently, Tiffoney, have contributed more than adequately in chipping in. Ambrose is a class act, but I never get the feeling the risk he brings is worth the reward. I have faith in Holt, and I would contest that the winless streak we endured for 13 games or whatever in the middle of last season was worse than this. Having seen every other team in the league at least once this season now, I think we'll be scrubbing it out with Accies, St Mirren and County at the foot of the table. Friday's game is absolutely massive; really need a positive performance and result to stop the rot.
  4. I like Devlin but I don’t think having two full backs who are keen to push up suits the formation and style Holt is trying to implement. Between him and Serrano I’d be inclined to go for the latter, he’s looked better every time I’ve seen him play following a fairly nightmarish debut at Pittodrie. McMillan has been steady in any position he’s played for us so far, and seems to have a good knack of knowing when to go and when to stay back. Would be inclined to start him. From what I seen today, Bartley and Brown were particularly poor and I wouldn’t be averse to dropping both. Sibbald has been excellent in the centre for around the last 18 months or so, so punting him to the left was baffling; don’t think Holt has been poor enough to warrant a spell out of the team and I think the pair of them would work well sitting in front of the defence. Finally, and I can’t believe I’m about to type this, but Tiffoney should be starting games like today, as it suits him down to a tee. Emmanuel-Thomas certainly has a bit about him but didn’t see any form of application or guile to match the hype. Although, will give him the benefit of the doubt given he is certainly not sharp. Poor today, no doubt about it.
  5. All stemmed from a Livi perspective with no-one giving Bartley the shout he had time. Caused ourselves undue pressure. Big Guthrie not playing to the whistle doesn’t help either.
  6. No sub keeper on the bench for us; could be interesting to say the least if Stryjek goes off...
  7. Seems to be two interesting extremes within our fanbase when it comes to opinions on McCrorie: those that have seen him as rotten since day dot, and those that will (quite) rightly back one of our players. FWIW, he isn’t a rotten ‘keeper by any stretch but equally, I haven’t seen anything so far to suggest he has any quality to even be half decent in this league. I am presuming that his status as the third choice international ‘keeper in the last couple of squads is solely down to his time with the U21s and not based on recent performances.
  8. Wasn’t much in it in the second half and on the balance of chances created it’s back to the familiar story of failing to take our chances. But, Killie defended well and we should be taking a leaf out of their book on that showing today. Calamitous defending for all three goals, McCrorie in particular is directly at fault for the first and third. I’ll be livid it he is back in after the Rangers game. JET looked promising when he came on, bit more match fitness about him and I’d feel a bit more confident about our chances going forward.
  9. Extremely dubious penalty aside, honking stuff again that we collapse as soon as we lose a lead. Switched on just before the first Killie goal and it has been all them. Like watching a repeat of the Accies game.
  10. Not really been indulging of the often-exaggerated criticism of McCrorie, but that’s pish keeping. Also don’t think it was offside.
  11. Out of the squad, getting Guthrie and Ambrose tied up on new deals has got to the be the priority. Robinson would be a useful one to sign up longer-term IMO, as I don’t think we could pick up anyone better (or cheaper) who is competent in so many positions. Great squad player.
  12. Souda out to be released before the end of the window, and Mullin in to replace him would be my guess.
  13. Missed the game last week but the from watching tonight, the difference in Tiffoney this season is quite incredible. Bit more composure tonight and he’d have had an assist at the very least. Has certainly bulked up but looks quicker as well. I would imagine Emmanuel-Thomas will take some time to get up to speed but on tonight’s showing that’s not a major worry.
  14. We’ve only gone and won away from home. How pish are United?
  15. A second United goal early in the second half is inevitable. Only have ourselves to blame here if we get beat.
  16. That’s a great free-kick, but I’m baffled how the foul on Serrano isn’t given prior.
  17. We're away from home, so naturally, I'm not confident in the slightest. May seem defeatist but a draw would be a very good result here, all things considered.
  18. Seemed to be out of favour with Holt by all accounts, so makes sense in a way for him to go out. Although loaning him to the only side currently below us in the league doesn’t really make sense. Personally, I would’ve had him in the team tomorrow as games like that seem to suit him down to a tee, but got to trust Holt’s judgement I guess. I’m assuming (hoping?) that between SAL, Hamilton and Crawford leaving that this is opening the door for a striker or two to join. Griffiths on loan, anyone?
  19. Must be someone coming in because we are utterly fucked if Lokotsch and Poplatnik are our only choices up front. Hope SAL does well at Thistle, definitely something about him and a good opportunity for him to get some games.
  20. Our complete inability to either defend or score set pieces will ultimately kill us this season if we don’t sharpen up. Lost count of the amount of promising free kicks and corners we picked up today from decent play, but done absolutely nothing from them. The two goals Accies scored were as simple as you like, very unlike us given how we’ve set up the last few seasons.
  21. So predictable. With respect to Accies we should be worried.
