  1. Well FWIW I think there's a marked difference between contentment and being successful. I've seen every team in this league at least once and Hibs apart none stick out as being vastly superior to us. Similarly the teams around us are all of a similar quality. So as far as league placings go there may not be a huge amount of points between 5th and 9th. It's only my view but I'd be happy with staying up and building for next season. Whether you like it or not (and clearly you dont) 8th in the Championship is progress from where we found ourselves 2 seasons ago.
  2. There seems to be a bit of a debate about what our manager said at the start of the season. As far as I can remember he said we should be aiming for the promotion play-offs - I must admit I thought that was ambitious but I didn't hear the conversation & maybe he was asked a loaded question? Either way, I'm sure most Pars fans will be content with 8th place (or higher) & consolidation (as Raith have managed to do) Like Shandon says some of the signings have been strange & have not all proved successful. McCabe & Spence for example were awarded deals pretty much immediately whereas it would appear others were strung along a bit. Fordyce was always going to be given a deal to give him a chance to prove he was fit as we all agreed he was a good player before his injury last season. Higgy & Clark looked like good signings at the time but neither has quite stood out for me. Wee McMullan looks promising but it took about 3 months (and a drop in Cardles form) for him to be given a run in the team. We don't play this weekend & our next 2 are Hibs & Morton away so by the time Dumbarton come to EEP we could quite easily be 2nd bottom again although we then have a run of games where we could take a few points. Might not be AJs signings but his reluctance to change formation & make substitutions that can affect a game may be our downfall..........
  3. Turn it aff then ya drama queen! Topic Originator: da_no_1 Date: Wed 15 Feb 12:34Legend right enough!Topic Originator: da_no_1 Date: Wed 15 Feb 18:50 No sh1t sherlock. Thanks for that ground breaking insightful news!Topic Originator: da_no_1 Date: Thu 16 Feb 09:38 You just don't ever let up do you? Have a day off. Posted from the Android app Topic Originator: da_no_1 Date: Thu 16 Feb 20:55 Quote: mach1, Thu 16 Feb 13:57 Well spotted wee eck. Better than da_no_1, who is more intent on putting down anything I have to say. It's maybe an age thing but I had just been talking to a Morton fan and my mind was stuck at Cappielow. As for taking a day off, try a year off da_no_1 and get a life instead of looking for an argument all the time. Pots and kettles mate. Your last post telling everyone to "stop looking for excuses" is typical of your patronising "I know more than you" tone.....give it a rest man. Fact is that was NEVER a penalty in a million years. The constant negativity on this forum really is quite depressing. The change in tone on the match thread makes for interesting reading. Optimism before kick off....joy at the goal......willing the ref to blow for FT......despair at the penalty..... then pure hatred at FT. Frightening stuff. You do that, mate. Go and hang out with the team at training instead and tell them how brilliant they all are. No can do I'm afraid. Got a job and a life... . Cracking stuff. Enjoy weeding the dual carriageway, bud. [IP address logged] Report Abuse Reply To This Message Jesus fucking Christ. Have a break from the internet you slavering fucking moron.
  4. On the face of it, this is as good an appointment as Rovers could have made. Think you'll easily finish in 5th or 6th now. There's definitely quality in your squad & Hughes should be able to sort them out. If he does, what do you guys think will happen in the summer?
  5. Really don't envy the decision your board faces. This appointment is a fuck up waiting to happen unless they get really lucky.....an unfortunate end result of appointing Locke in the summer.
  6. Team from the first game at Starks DUNFERMLINE: David Hutton: Ryan Williamson, Lee Ashcroft, Ben Richards-Everton, Lewis Martin (Jason Talbot 80): Rhys McCabe (Michael Paton 77), Andy Geggan (c), Kallum Higginbotham, Joe Cardle: Michael Moffat (David Hopkirk 60), Gavin Reilly. SUBS NOT USED: Paul McMullan, Callum Fordyce, Lewis Spence, Cammy Gill (GK) Team from new year fixture DUNFERMLINE: Sean Murdoch: Andy Geggan, Callum Fordyce (c), Lee Ashcroft, Jason Talbot: Paul McMullan (Joe Cardle 89), John Herron, Nat Wedderburn, Kallum Higginbotham: Nicky Clark (Gavin Reilly 90+1), Michael Moffat SUBS NOT USED: Ryan Williamson, Michael Paton, Conner Duthie, Farid El Alagui, David Hutton (GK) Whilst we didn't "sign" half a team, the two line-ups are significantly different. Only 4 players who started in August lined up against them in January.
  7. Was Yogi not available in the summer? Why did he not get the gig then?
  8. Saturdays changes In brief...... Martin is OK at left back but I prefer Talbot. There seemed to be a lot down his flank in the second half, think it might be to do with Joe not covering as much as Higgy? Morris looked solid, I'd like to see him alongside Fordyce Reilly did very little to stake a claim for displacing the Moff. There's 20 minute spells in the game where he isn't even involved. Just hasn't happened for him sadly.
  9. Don't. We're the cheats, dontcha know.............the list of creditors will appear shortly....
  10. You just know Stevensons' going to score from 30 yards on Saturday, he'll be a hero & Locke will be a visionary genius. The over-reaction from Raith fans on here is rivalled only by Pars roasters on .net. As I was typing Scarybear beat me to it.
  11. If you lose to St Mirren you should just pack it in for this season. They are utterly awful & are getting worse by the week.
  12. Spence would be as well jacking it. Pumped out on loan while McCabe keeps a place in the side.
  13. You'd have thought you'd have accepted the fact that we went into administration after cheating for a long time, nearly went bust, managed somehow to get a CVA accepted, spent 3 seasons in the seaside leagues and are now struggling at the foot of the division we were leading when it went tits up. Apparently not - it seems you're still utterly desperate to hear that it's all going horribly wrong again (even though we recently reported a modest profit for the first time in years) Kinda sad, really.
  14. If certain people are believing the unsubstantiated shite some random folk post on a football forum then yes, I will blame them.
  15. Yip. Signed this morning apparently. Will be announced later today
  16. I quite like D.A.F.Cs posts. They're like the adverts on the telly with the amusing cats in amongst all the serious shit. Keep them coming!
