It's brilliant. Most courses will honour it for the entire 4 ball if only 3 of the 4 are Braid members as well.

The St Andrews one in New York is on my bucket list - plan at the moment is for a 50th birthday trip that includes there and at least one at Bethpage

Aye it’s something we always talked about going and taking advantage of, but we never did. What’s the St. Andrews in New York that’s passed me by?

That would certainly be one to remember at Bethpage. I’ve watched a few of those golf vloggers playing Bethpage Black on YouTube and it looks unreal. Sawgrass is one I want to tick off the list too I think that would be a surreal experience.

Dundonald for £75 is a vastly superior course than the pga.

That was genuinely second on the list although where are you seeing it for £75, the Scottish Resident fee is £110 and that’s the cheapest I can see.

Looked at Robert the Bruce at Turnberry which was under 100 quid when I played it in 2021 I’m sure, and I’ve just seen it’s went up to £210. Surely that doesn’t make sound financial sense unless the course is getting booked out by tourists with too much money, because I can’t imagine too many local golfers will be paying that kind of money for a round there. It’s a nice course but I wouldn’t dream of paying the fat end of a grand for a 4 ball on it.

If you are a member of a course designed by James Braid, you can get on the Kings/Queens a bit cheaper, as well as discounts at the vast majority of the other courses he designed.

Up until last year I was a member of a James Braid course and not once did I take advantage of that deal to get a discount on other James Braid courses, even though I knew it existed. The guy must not have had a minutes peace when he was alive because he seems to have had a hand in designing a ridiculous amount of Scottish courses.

  4. This is only the second time I’ve seen Rangers this season, the first being Servette away during the week, but everything I’ve seen from their attacking players so far makes me think they will be lucky to get 2nd this year. Matondo wouldn’t look out of place in the Scottish Championship, Dessers looks like he has the composure of a sheep trapped in a barbed wire fence, Sima looks like the kind of player who will do something magical once every 12 games, and Danilo’s agent must be Derren Brown, who has hypnotised the Rangers board into thinking they were getting the PSG Danilo. It’s the only explanation.

  5. How has Steven Craigan managed to spend the best part of 20 years playing professionally only to have absolutely zero tactical insight when commentating on a game of football? Once you notice the complete and utter platitudes he speaks in it becomes hard to watch a game he is involved in. Already he has been speaking about ‘Rangers playing with width so the midfielders can find the space that’s left’? What does that even mean? He just says things he thinks sound good.

I played it a couple of months ago, it was £100 a head so no idea why the price is like that now. Wasn’t near worth £100 to be honest, bit of a garbage course and condition wasn’t good. Kings and Queens both significantly better layouts.

I actually quite liked the PGA when I played it, and it was my suggestion to go there but never for £300. As the poster above you said golf courses seem to have really hiked the green fees and it’s very noticeable at some of these more ‘prestigious’ courses. Saying that though, I booked a round at Irvine Bogside through GolfNow last week for £30, and just out of interest went and looked to see what the regular green fee was and they were looking for £90

  7. Just went and had a look at trying to book a 4ball on the PGA Course at Gleneagles, and I actually laughed out loud when I seen the prices they are wanting. £1200 for a 4ball on any of the 3 courses at Gleneagles? Surely that’s not right. I played the PGA about 6 months after the Ryder Cup was there and I don’t think I paid more than £100 quid.

They do have a special ‘tee-time offer’, which brings the price down to somewhere around £170pp, but thats in September and only late afternoon tee times are available. I think we will find somewhere else.

McCann vs Baluta. Great to see a top of the bill fight being worthy of the title

Cracking fight but scorecards slightly dodgy imo, although won’t complain if it means getting to see it again.

The second half was nervy and Hibs would've been worth a point. Defending left a bit to be desired at the goals but worth noting that Dunne and Bolton are likely to be starters when fit. Hemming was excellent, McMenamin and Olusanya were too. A great cross and header from Kiltie and Greive for the 3rd.

Despite that nervy second half today was very positive.

I watched Olusanya a few times for Arbroath last season and really didn’t think he had the quality to make the step up to the Premiership, because he was hardly a stand out in that division. But from his last few showings I might well be wrong. He’s absolutely rapid and his touch still leaves a bit to be desired but that was a tidy finish today, and he put in a proper shift. Hopefully him and Grieve take a bit of confidence from their goals today and push on this season.

  10. Strange angle to take here from a usually sensible poster. Boyle is just back from a long term injury that kept him out of probably his only chance at playing in a World Cup Finals. He’s not exactly the type of player that gets opposition fans riled up with his antics, and from what I’ve seen conducts himself quite well on the pitch.  Unless there is some long standing feud between Boyle and St Mirren that I’m not aware of it seems pretty distasteful to wish injury on any player.

  11. Youan running at Tanser is giving me the fear but hopefully Robinson has a plan to shut that side of the pitch down. Quite a daunting attack Hibs have got with Boyle causing a nuisance of himself too, and Doidge up there to poach any loose balls in the box. From what I’ve seen of Youan he seems to lack that final bit of quality when it comes to taking a shot or trying to find a pass, but on Thursday night he scored a screamer and set up another one on a plate for Campbell.

Would take a draw but as others have said our away form under Robinson has never been the best. Looking forward to what should be a good game though, maybe some tired legs in the Hibs team after Thursday night.

They've always been hot-headed. Not like their counterparts who peacefully sat on their arses while their club died.

Ive always thought it was strange that it would only have taken every Rangers fan on the planet to throw a few quid in to the pot in order to save their club from liquidation, but they never bothered their arse. I remember a game against St Mirren at Ibrox where the home fans held up a ‘red card to liquidation’ before kick off. As we all now know, holding up bits of paper didn’t seem to do the job, as valiant an effort as it was. HMRC usually prefer their debts to be repayed with money, a fact that seemed to escape the entire Rangers support.

I just hope the Celtic support chooses to emulate Ghandi and that any demonstrations are peaceful.

We don't want some sort of Green Panthers causing civil war.

It was only a couple of seasons ago that their fans were throwing metal barriers at the team bus because they lost a couple of games in a row. It genuinely beggars belief that grown men are claiming a refereeing bias against them when they’ve won 90% of the trophies on offer over the past 8 or so years, I shudder to think what kind of lunacy we would hear if they went a couple of seasons without a trophy.

  14. Looking forward to the mental gymnastics Eddie Hearn will be performing in the coming days to square up Whytes failed VADA test against Benn‘s. As someone else said this is the second time Whyte has tested hot, by the time he either ‘clears his name’ or serves a ban he will be too far down the road to get in the ring against your Joshua’s, Fury’s or Wilders. It’s a shame because I think he could have gave AJ a fright if not more, but he’s as well hanging up the gloves now. Probably just cost himself a couple of million quid into the bargain but his reputation is well and truly tarnished now.
