  1. Was the 'pressure' not from the SPFL to the Lowland league about accepting Brechin as a member if they are relegated (as they are north of the boundary) and this happened well in advance of the outbreak? Agree that the SPFL should be questioned on this but it does not really seem relevant to the current saga which they were discussing.
  2. Agree on the best. Alexander probably edges for me as I only started following regularly in 2007/08. I would put Ludo Roy on top of the worst just due to the goal conceded to Dunfermline.
  3. Presumably the 14-10-10-10 argument will be that it is 'saving' 3 teams (Hearts, PT & Stranraer) while rewarding a further 5 (Inverness, Falkirk, EC, Brora and Kelty). I was of the opinion that a 'yes' vote last week was the best option and would rightly reward the best team at each level, with the worst teams relegated. Then the Dundee shenanigans happened and don't know what to think given it seems they were swayed into the u-turn. I am now open to 14-10-10-10 on a temporary basis with a possible long-term reconstruction aim of larger divisions at tiers 3 & 4 to give greater access to the teams lower in the pyramid. I think the current 12 split structure in the top-flight is still optimal with a 10 underneath. Also open to 14-9-10-10 with Dundee banished to the Tayside juniors.
  4. A good replacement if Lawless leaves. If he doesn't, we will have a very good squad again next season. Probably just missing a good goalkeeper.
  5. I think I was the same way when we were demoted to the 3rd division 10 years ago so I can't be too critical. That said, the kickback boycott chat is embarrassing and very old firmesque. kingantti, in particular, appears to be at the foaming from the mouth stage of seething.
  6. Record profit of £368k for Y/E June 2019. Very impressive stuff and an appropriate use of "remember where we were". Accounts £756k still owed to presumably Neil Rankine, Ged Nixon and Gordon MacDougall which is not repayable on demand and only when the club is in a 'viable position'. The shutdown is a pisser as all the cash at bank we have built up will be whittled away. Was happy to donate to the club last week. They will be getting in a minimum of £2.5k a month based on current donations numbers and I imagine that figure will be higher when business donations are considered. Probably looking at around a £50k donation from fans over the next 14 months which is brilliant.
  7. Sarkic Gallagher Guthrie Halkett ATS (McMillan v. close) Bartley Sibbald Robinson Pittman Lawless Dykes
  8. Amazing the difference that good coaching and confidence makes. Last season, Halkett was definitely ahead of Gallagher (both good players, it must be said) and unlucky not to have a call up. Levein and playing next to Berra for months have ruined him. Hopefully recovers to do better than James McPake. There are a lot of parallels I can draw between them at this stage of their careers.
  9. Overreaction as per. Genuine complaints like his should be sent through the official channels, not tagging someone's personal twitter account and expecting a response and action. That said, Ward's response shouldn't have been as aggressive.
  10. Dykes will get the headlines but how good was Guthrie? I thought the hype was beginning to get too much but he reaffirmed the fact that he is an excellent Premiership defender this evening. New deal please. Steve Clarke is a chump if he doesn't include Dykes in the next squad.
  11. v biased but really think Clarke should be speaking to Lyndon Dykes tonight. Australia assistant manager watching the game this evening where he once again ragdolled a £7million defender. Only Cosgrove & Doidge have more Premiership goals of non Old Firm players and similarly, he has the best goals & assists total of any Old Firm player. Well worth a call up before we lose him like Martin Boyle.
  12. Craigen is a slaver. When he eventually gets a job in management, he will be emptied in <6 months.
  13. I do not like Celtic but Brown and Edouard were outstanding tonight. Really good players contributing to a team of worthy champions. That said, we were excellent as well and well worth a point. Guthrie was exceptional. The whole team worked really hard and were unlucky to be broken down late in the game. Steve Clarke should be ringing Lyndon Dykes tonight before Australia take him. Fantastic strength on our second goal. Two good teams each earning a deserved point.
  14. Feel like I'm picking on him sometimes but in my opinion, he is guff. We sadly gave him a contract extension at the start of the season which means he will be with us until 2021. Hoping we can get someone to take him off us in the summer.
  15. Good move for him, if so. Looking at our options, he is now 4th/5th choice so would not begrudge him the move and more money. Good servant for the the last two seasons.
  16. Apologies, did not recognise recognise Paul McGinn at all! He was rubbish, for what it's worth.
  17. Dykes did go down easy after being crowded out/fouled in the buildup. Should have had a penalty from the subsequent corner when McGinn dragged him down. Thought it looked suspicious from our end of the ground in real time.
  18. Two good teams in horrendous conditions. Draw was a fair result. Disagree with the lads above - stonewall penalty as per the rules. Unfair as it was straight at him but a pen nonetheless.
  19. Just realised Greg Aitken was the referee who gave the card. More evidence, if it were needed, that the guy is absolutely hopeless and should not be officiating at the top level.
  20. Surprise, surprise. The referee that gave James Keatings the ridiculous second yellow card for diving on Saturday was Greg Aitken. How is this guy still paid to officiate?
  21. That is very sad, if so. If he is interested in pursuing coaching, I hope we can offer him something in the new development setup. He is a real inspiration to talented part-time players who have been rejected by multiple clubs. Keep working hard and you can revive your career and play at a good level.
