Agree with this completely. Pittman as well - his absence should not be used as an excuse. Lawless and Souda (just) have been above par this season. Yet to be convinced by our other attacking options.
In addition to this, this is yet another game where Stewart has faced minimal chances and still conceded more than one goal. It's not good enough for a team like us. Sarkic in against Celtic please.
Looking forward to this.
If we continue to play as well as we have been so far, I think this will be a close game. Dykes being back for us is a massive boost as well. The only other unenforced change will be Sarkic in for Stewart.
It's been 14 years since we reached the semis but I am hopeful we can end that run here. 1-1 and through on penalties.
I only listened on the radio but one thing that was clear from the commentary was how poor Jacobs' deliveries were (again). While he is defensively suspect, I feel Souda could have provided the quality that may have seen us nick a goal.
It's a shame Bartley went off injured as I imagine he would have been our third substitute.
How can you say that a player was decidedly average based on a 10 minute cameo at the end of a game?
I thought he did fine against a dangerous St. Mirren team.
Souda was fantastic in the first half yesterday. Not sure whether he was tired in the second half but Martindale should have subbed him off far earlier than he did. It may have cost us on another day.
I think most Walsall fans were sad to see Devlin go.
I made the point yesterday that there are so many players that have a bad season in England/Scotland then are good in the other. Hopefully he is an example of this.
Pepe, Miller, Lawson, Robinson, Savane and Odoffin all injured this early in the season? Mental.
With Lawless and McMillan seemingly off injured yesterday as well, we might be down to the bare bones against Forfar.
