  1. Didn't actually listen this week, I just saw comments from Allan Preston stating the above. He may have changed his tune as the afternoon went on.
  2. I imagine Hearts pitch was similarly slated after the hysterical Open All Mics performance last week at Livingston? No? 'The grass is there, only slightly discoloured'? Ok then.
  3. Reserves playing Bathgate Thistle at the stadium tonight. Is anyone going?
  4. Agreed, I can definitely see a 2/3-0. Holt should be getting emphasising to the players before the game that a 5 goal win will guarantee us as seeds in the next round. I would hope this would lead to a fast start, a couple of goals and Berwick collapsing. Just rewatching the highlights from Tuesday - how slow are Lamie and Stewart in reacting to the striker going past Stewart? Really poor, particularly from the goalie. I feel like Holt will play his starting 11 for Motherwell today but I would definitely consider giving Sarkic another shot in goals.
  5. Great to win away from home for the first time in 11 months but I am concerned about the lack of clean sheets so far. At the moment, it does not look like this team will be scoring prolifically so we need to continue to keep it tight at the back. Motherwell at home on the first day will be a very stern test.
  6. Without Maley, Henderson, Blues, van Schaik and Menga (loan), we still have a squad of 22. 4 will miss out, if everyone is fully fit. Lawson was on the coach to the game earlier along with Savane.
  7. Another rugby guy (I think) involved on Sportsound tonight. Great hosting so far, if only because he isn't talking to the pundits as if they are his best mates. More of this please.
  8. Sounds it. Very impressed if that was his first time on Radio Scotland for football.
  9. First time I've heard Stuart McFarlane commentate. He sets the scene very well and has a great voice. Hope to hear more of him this season.
  10. I think our In business is probably done now, unless an exceptional striker becomes available. Dundee United fans were talking about us being in for Frederic Frans last week. I don't think we need another centre half and I'm unsure he would be a significant improvement on what we already have.
  11. Gregg Wylde no longer in the squad on the OS. Hakeem Odoffin is still there.
  12. Just watched the highlights. The amount of times that the ball bounced around our box without us clearing is concerning. I don't think that many teams would get the break of the ball as frequently as Falkirk did in these situations but better teams would have punished us before then.
  13. Souda looks like a replacement for Menga. Sad to see him go, such a pest to play against and clearly a great character. Hope we got some money for him.
  14. Sounds like there are two different left-back trialists. I think if we get a deal sorted for one then our incoming business is done. Would hope our next step is to trim some of the squad.
  15. Not sure if this website is reliable but it is saying that Sylla has rejected an offer from us. https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2019/salimo-sylla-rejects-livingston-scotland/
  16. Don't buy this. Hardie had Miller (target man) up with him for most of the championship games he played. He scored 5 goals in the first 5 games he was with Miller and a subsequent 2 after those. His best work last season was in the run of games in which he played up front with Menga (target man). Scored 4 goals in the first 3 games they played together. As I say, might have been an attitude problem in addition but a much bigger part was the way we were playing. Played with a good target man, he's deadly. Two trialists in the squad tonight. Are either of these among the trialists who were in Hungary?
  17. Hardie is easily a 10-15 goal Premiership striker when he plays in a two. Our issue was that we played him as a target man for too much of our bad run earlier in the year. Maybe the Rangers camp turned his head a bit but I think he lost a bit of confidence getting the ball fired at him. As I said before, I think we would be wise to ask the question of Rangers.
  18. Hope @LiviLion won't mind me pinching his post for an update on the squad. GK Gary Maley, Matija Sarkic, Ross Stewart DEF Nicky Devlin, Cece Pepe, Ricki Lamie, Alan Lithgow, Jack McMillan, Henk van Schaik MID Marvin Bartley, Cameron Blues, Robbie Crawford, Raffaele De Vita, Craig Henderson, Keaghan Jacobs, Steven Lawless, Steve Lawson, Scott Pittman, Craig Sibbald ATT Lyndon Dykes, Chris Erskine, Dolly Menga, Lee Miller, Scott Robinson, Scott Tiffoney LOANED OUT Carlo Pignatello, Jack Hamilton NOT FEATURED IN PRE SEASON Hakeem Odoffin, Gregg Wylde
  19. I don't care as much as other people do but the club have time to recover this if they have a black or yellow/amber kit as the current 'away' effort and make the switch. I even think white and orange would have been acceptable as a home kit as a homage to the 2002/3 shirt. This white and gold effort looks very tacky and has really no redeeming features.
  20. Wouldn't mind it as an away kit. I wonder if this could be sponser related.
  21. Did anyone see what Gregg Wylde posted on twitter before he took it down?
  22. Hardie definitely needs out of Rangers as he has no chance of establishing himself as a starter. I would be disappointed if we weren't asking the question but I imagine we would be priced out. Great move for Jack Hamilton. Who better to learn from than Stephen Dobbie?
  23. Will be a left back, striker/winger and a a midfielder of some sorts.
  24. Kieran Tierney hype train on Sportsound there. James McFadden being the thickest of the bunch. "Ah think it would need to take someone who's gonnae to compete for the title in England or compete for the Champions League fur him to leave" "Ah don't think Arsenal would blow him away"
