Comical Beenze.   I guess at the alleged extra General Meeting he'll be able to lay out his cunning plan to clubs.

Has he menitoned the fact that Bamford has resigned? That in itself should tell him the way this is headed.  It's time for the clubs to put an end to it.

The latest update regarding the Pyramid application process

In line with the previous statements and timetable, the process surrounding the making of a formal application to join the Pyramid via the new West of Scotland Football League (WoSFL) proposed by the Scottish Lowland Football League (SLFL), East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL) and now also the South of Scotland Football League (SoSFL) is below.

To date 51 expressions of interest have been received from various grades of football. Those Clubs will now be invited to an information meeting on Thursday 12 March to hear in more detail what the application process will look like. This will include the minimum qualification standards (including the ground criteria based on the EoSFL model), the governance arrangements, the administration support available, the options for the structure of the new league and the completion of the form itself. The application forms will be sent to the 51 Clubs along with the invitation to the meeting, and will also be made available to any other Club on request. The completed forms will be treated in strictest confidence. Clubs are encouraged to send any questions they have to geo_fraser@hotmail.co.uk by Wednesday 11 March so the meeting can be as informative as possible. Questions on the night will also be encouraged. The idea is to give the Clubs as much information as possible to inform their decision-making process. Due to numbers expected, each Club will be invited to send one registered official to the meeting.

As previously stated, the deadline for completion for all of the forms is Tuesday 31 March. The next again step will be to hold a further meeting for all Clubs whose application has been accepted. That meeting will cover in more detail what the set-up of the new League will look like (depending on the number of applications received and accepted) and also the plans to create an administration for the League. That meeting will be arranged for April.

    Issued:

George Fraser (Chairperson SLFL), John Greenhorn (Chairperson EoSFL), Colin Holden (President SoSFL)

What is the point of being on twitter if no one can read the posts, isn’t the point to try and get your opinions to as wide an audience as you can.

Because he's batshit crazy?  Although I do often wonder if it's an account run by the LL out of a troll farm in Moscow 😂

We in Auchinleck live very close to people infected with the Cumnoka-virus, a lot of nasty little bugs that refuse to be washed, to try help eradicate it.Their football team also play matches where home fans dont attend.:P

Looks like the virus has spread to the Talbot dressing room...........

No surprise in the Bankies backing it, they’ve always been looking to return to the Senior leagues and aren’t a traditional Junior team so less entrenched in their views. Interesting to see if other clubs respond.

With Bamford resigning his positions and backing the LL, that should be a clear message to those WRJFA clubs who want to be in the Pyramid next season.

  6. Clydebank FC can today confirm it has agreed to support the West of Scotland league as proposed by the Lowland League.

The club board has continued to explore all available opportunities to join the Scottish FA pyramid.

There are currently two proposals pending with the Scottish FA for a West feeder to the Lowland League: a West of Scotland league facilitated directly by the Lowland League, and alternatively a league to be run by the West Region SJFA.

The club board met last night and has agreed to support the West of Scotland league as proposed by the Lowland League.

We understand applications for that league will open soon. We will keep all Trust members updated on that process.

As a result of this, club director Matt Bamford has stood down from his office bearer roles from the West Region and SJFA.

Matt served as President and Vice President respectively, and the club board places on record their thanks to Matt for his service to the organisation.

You could only buy the 5 match packet if you paid the fifty quid for a membership on top, so in reality there was no discount.

The £50 membership gets you into U21 and Womens matches free (and younger age groups), and also 15% off Scotland shirts, and a discount on home tickets/ST's. For me the £50 is normally recouped over the 2 year period.

I’m not sure there would a lot of traction behind this, these stories rarely do. often taken from a 30 second rough idea that some director has said without much substance and some journalist who hasn’t filled their column yet takes it runs a story about ‘secret plans’ in place to completely alter Scottish Football.

    This story actually has "legs"...........

They need to check the SFA articles of association, it not against the rules to play trialists

It probably needs a definitive ruling on this, as the mixed messages are causing difficulties in getting players out of trial if SERYFA clubs think they are going to be punished.

It certainly helps but does it not just move the issue down an age group when the u18s want to use a 15 year old doing well?

Probably a rarer occurrence than the U20's wanting to trial U18/19's.

It does kick the can down the road a bit, but it gives greater flexibility to the U20 side in developing players for the first team, also more chance of an U16/U17 signing and playing regularly for the U18's and making the odd appearance for U20, than trialling occasionally for U20's under SERYFA threats!

  11. I see this has been put up on the SERYFA website again;

    "Important Notice - Re playing U20s E O S Lowland League
All players, teams and secretarys should note that ANY PLAYER registered to play for any SERYFA team at any age group CANNOT play as a trialist for any U20's E O S Lowland League team. It is an offence and breach of SYFA rules "

It's not a breach of LL U20 rules though (they have the league name wrong). Maybe the SFA need to step in and rule on this.

  12. Application form needs to be accepted by the Lowland Development League and ground criteria will be need to be met. Don't understand why Netherdale cannot be used if they are entering as Galafairydean Rovers
Some clubs play fast and loose with ground criteria.

Again, it harks back to what I have said numerous times before in that things are cyclical with successful teams. There's no doubt that in the noughties the East were the dominant region, likewise this last decade it's been teams from the West, and especially Talbot. The fact that nobody from the East has won since 2009-10 is significant. I miss the teams from the East as we always had good days out whever we went, but the fact that they don't compete en masse now hasn't diminished the quality of the Cup, just lessened the amount of teams in it.

Of course it has! a Junior Cup without the best teams from the East is diminished however way you look at it.

Part of the reason why the east fell behind in recent years is the Lowland League, as it got stronger, clubs were competiting with LL teams for the better players. West clubs had no such competition.  Not the only reason, but it was a contributory factor.
