  1. That would have sent the message out loud and clear...only one bar in the centre Manchester that did less trade than normal when a Euro final was on!
  2. It wasn't red cards. Rangers saved money by handing out some of the final reminders they hadn't shredded yet.
  3. "If you're going through hell, keep going". Yep, Rangers are indeed taking positive steps to get rid of sectarianism. In other words, no inventiveness or ingenuity at all and of course Messrs O'Donnell, MacLean and Craig innovative initiative had nothing to do with them copying the Man Utd yellow/green idea.
  4. Sounds good and as the supporters of Buckfast Fizz pretend they're really watching Rangers they could sing their new club song...The Land of Make Believe.
  5. We aren't talking about our cuddly little diddy clubs though. The name change is important in my eyes as without it, it's just legal stuff that doesn't really matter to supporters, even though in the real world it is. The name Rangers means so much to these knuckledraggers. It stands for so much. It is far more than just the name of a football club. It's a lifestyle. Remove that and you show everyone the beast has been slain, or in this case, committed suicide. The bigots may transfer their allegiance and pretend who they are watching is Rangers but it won't be. Rangers will be dead. Removing the name would confirm it to all.
  6. Bucks Fizz fans had the same dilemma. Stick with a BF with no original members or go to Bobby Gee's Bucks Fizz gigs. Decisions decisions. Maybe Coisty could set up Ally McCoist's Rangers if someone tries to use the Rangers name.
  7. Everything but name and legal entity. Rangers will be dead. That you and others choose to keep its memories alive through another club is irrelevant. Rangers will be dead. I just wanted to hear what a long standing Rangers man would say without making assumptions. Some others have said they would give up going to games as Rangers were dead. I just hope its the vast majority that think that.
  8. Gretna 2008 apparently have 'no legal connection with the original Gretna FC' but they look to have wangled their way round it. Easier for them than Rangers though. However, you have confirmed what was expected. No matter which club rises out of the ashes they will be Rangers in their supporters eyes, called Rangers no matter what the clubs name is and all the baggage will be transferred to it. Thank you.
  9. You missed out answering the post before this one No8. Could you please respond?
  10. There are posts from yesterday on this thread that strongly suggest a new club couldn't use the name Rangers for legal reasons. Would you therefore declare Govan FC to have won x championships etc and adopt Rangers history?
  11. The Club? Which club though? If Rangers is liquidated and any new club can't use the name Rangers, which Club will you actually be supporting? Will you just deem them as Rangers and bestow Rangers honours and traditions upon them and carry on as if nothing had really happened?
  12. Yep. It's the usual suspects with their usual tit for tat crap. I'm surprised it's taken this long to sink to such levels actually.
  13. I refer anyone doubting it to post 10963. You cannot have a reasoned discussion with any bigot brother follower. They are, I'm delighted to say, on a different planet from the normal world.
  14. Going by the above, it looks as if the fact it is a geographical name wouldn't be a consideration. I suppose a company using the local name that went bust had already had their chance to use the city/town name and blown it. The blue bigots aren't actually Glasgow Rangers. They are The Rangers Football Club I believe so if the above is right there is no way they could use the words Rangers again. Please.
  15. (b)it is a name which is so similar to a name falling within paragraph (a) as to suggest an association with that company. I would have thought that any name including Airdrie would be similar to Airdrionians and/or suggest association with them. My hopes are fading already.
  16. Leeds was my first thought then also about the loads of dodgy double glazing and sofa firms that close down and re-emerge with apparent name variations. However a quick wiki showed that Leeds were never actually liquidated. Bates did his smoke and mirrors trick by manipulating administration. I didn't look any further admittedly. I admit it does seem too good to be true though.
  17. It's a waste of time trying to have a reasoned discussion/argument with any of the bigot followers. Entrenched view is an understatement.
  18. That's a very negative pic, not positive. The sun's going down on Rangers and there's a guy locking the gates on the club. That's death, not glory. Excellent.
  19. I love the idea that I've seen suggested a couple of places. Really turn the knife by having one of the fast track SPL entry conditions as the name Rangers can't be used in the name of the newco. Just wipe the b*****ds off the face of the earth as much as possible.
