Good. I wrote to him when he first entered Westminster just as MPs had awarded themselves (or accepted) another pay rise.

I suggested that by him individually (and/or all other SNP MPs) refusing the pay rise or better, giving it to charity, this would show support to those at the lower rung of UK income levels as well as illustrating how SNP were indeed a breath of fresh air (as had been campaigned on). This I suggested would send out a strong signal. His response was basically that what individuals did with their income was a personal matter and if I wanted to buy some merchandise from his constituency shop, proceeds from that would go to charity. It was not made clear what % of proceeds would find its way to charity.

I’ve got to be honest - this giving salary to charity is utter nonsense.

Different debate about whether there should be a pay rise or not, but once it has been awarded, it should be completely up to the recipient what they do with it.  If someone sent me a letter telling me I should give part of my salary to charity, I would tell them to bolt.

I don’t believe in the death penalty but I’d be fine with them just locking her in a cell and leaving her there without food until she dies of natural causes

I still can’t believe that people hold this type of view, especially in a week or so where some horrendous miscarriages of justice have been in the press.

My point is that on the list, people will be less inclined to fall down the lines of Unionism and Nationalism, because there are always a plethora is single issue, niche parties that people will "give a chance" to.

Yes, the result on the actual day was 10.6%, whereas polling both before and after The Vow was made (which was kept) had much smaller gaps.

Thanks for the historical points, I didn't know that.  I still don't frame it as us being Westminster ruling us though, as we elect the MPs so ultimately it's the people who are sovereign.

Translation - “I don’t like “facts” and similar things, so I’m going to ignore them.”

I note that the lead-in to a story about Social Security Scotland on Reporting Scotland tonight was introduced with the words "A Scottish Government Agency has said sorry..."

Here's a link to the 'story' on the BBC website - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-66465476

Whilst I'm not exactly happy with the concept of holding quizzes during work hours, I fail to see how the fact that adult disability payments are devolved has any bearing on the fact that Huntley and Brady were pictured in a quiz, or why this shocked and enraged the complainant. We know what Huntley & Brady look like because of media reports, FFS!

I hope that the complainant has also complained to the BBC that they were pictured on it's flagship teatime news programme and on the linked news 'story'

However, I'm sure that everyone has dutifully lapped up today's "Scottish Government baaaaaaad" announcement

If ever an employee deserved a punch in the mouth, this is it. Utter pish

Scotland beat Fiji in extra time to win gold!

Great result, but i must be missing something watching the game.  Fiji had a converted try where the conversion seemed to disappear from teh scoreboard after a couple of minutes.  Anyone know what happened?

One of the problems with guidelines is it’s arbitrary nature.

Theoretically someone carrying out a crime the day before their 25th birthday could be treated differently to someone carrying out their crime the day after their 25th birthday.

It would be hard to argue that their intellectual development was different.

That’s the problem with any limit on anything.  The age of criminal responsibility in Scotland is 12.

Factually, someone carrying out a crime the day before their 12th birthday is treated differently to someone carrying out their crime the day after their 12th birthday.

It would be hard to argue that their intellectual development was different.  But that’s what the law needs to do.

I only watched bits of it after coming in from the football but I thought he looked pretty good? Set up a try, kicked reasonably well. I did see him drop the ball in our 22 but it was a c**t of a pass from Price.

I think it was from Dobbie who was just on, and it was his first pass with the wet ball.  Certainly wouldn’t have blamed Healy for it

I didnt listen to R Scotland, and I was responding to your specific statement about the items being on the website - which they were not when I posted.

I may be many things - Hibby b*****d, annoying tit, grammer pedant.............but I am not a liar.

I didn’t call you that - i pointed out the factual inaccuracy in your statement.  There is enough to blame the BBC about - i actually complained to the BBC for the first time ever this week over their reporting of the Martin Compston story, which basically repeated the Tories (red and blue) attack line for 3/4 of the article before a concluding paragraph saying “but there was nothing wrong with any of this”.

Their coverage of a facebook page this week with 71 members calling for a return to masks in hospital settings was just as bad.

Do you think I was making it up when I posted this morning that it was on neither of these?

The fact they have been forced by STV into addressing the story doesn't change the truth that BBC Scotland publish "SNP in crisis" stories more urgently than anything concerning the Tories or Labour.

The BBC Scotland interviews were at 8.05 and 8.35, and were heavily trailed through the morning before that.  So, give you posted after 10am, yes, you were.

I also agree wholeheartedly on your “SNP Bad” line.

Another in the series of "nothing to see here" from BBC Scotland.

Last night, STV news collared Anas Sarwar about the 2 child limit  and Sarwar gave his (utterly ludicrous) response - which the reporter almost laughed at.

BBC R4 this morning referenced this issue, and that Sarwar was under pressure about it.

BBC Scotland? Nothing, there is no story on their website, not even on the Scotland Politics page.

They dont even hide their unionist bias now.

I’m afraid that’s not true - interviews with Stephen Flynn and Jackie Bailey on Radio Scotland this morning.  JB’s was a total car crash.  It is also on the website., both main page and the top story on Politics.

Happy Twelfth to all posters, especially @Wee Bully.

About to tuck into a fry then do a small local parade, followed by our main one in Loughbrickland.

Great to hear the Craigyhill bonfire raised over £5000 for sick child Pia Grace who is undergoing cancer treatment.  Tallest bonfire in the world and capturing positive national media attention.

@Tony Ferrino will be disappointed that the high winds didn't topple it before lighting.

    Have a great day all.

I’m not surprised about the fry tbh.  Not seen a slim Orangeman yet.
