His set pieces are atrocious as well. Either straight into the keepers hands or can't beat the first man.

If Tanser’s one big strength is crossing/corners then he’s fucked! Think Ethan took corners at the last home game, so he’s been pumped from them too.

Wouldnt be shocked to see another LWB come in.

It's one of the weaknesses of the three at the back system Robinson is wedded to. The full backs have attacking duties too, and are regularly caught out of position because of it.  There must have been three or four times in the first half alone that they got in behind Strain last night because he was too high up, none of which led to any real chances thankfully. When they do get themselves in a position to defend they aren't doing it properly, fatigue from all that running up and down the touchline or just a bit pish? A mix of both, probably.

After the winter break I'd like to see us try a back four again, with a right and left back who's primary job is to stop crosses into the box.  Stop giving up so many cheap goals and see where it takes us. Eight goals conceded in three games against Hibs, County and St Johnstone is shockingly poor.

We don’t have a true left back and not seen Strain play there before. Would mean players coming in and I just don’t see us doing that.

For all the system can be blamed, it’s individual errors that cost the equaliser. Too much fannying about, trying to waste time then not closing the cross down that led to the goal. Individuals need to take responsibility.

Plus, Clark could attempt that another hundred times and not score.

To be honest, I'm more annoyed about this than what may or may not be going on with our former chairman.

Ask anyone involved with any committee - be it a sports club, gala, PTA, whatever - and they'll tell you one of the biggest problems is getting new members on the committee, particularly younger ones. We had not one, but two, younger guys willing to come on board and they were the only two not to get one of the posts. It may be their age had nothing to do with it but it's a bit disheartening for them and any other younger folk that want to get involved. Also means a whole generation of support has no representation on SMiSA- although not as bad as having no women on the board, which is the case with the club and, it seems, now SMiSA.

Would have also have been good to get some fresh faces involved - regardless of their age. I'm sure the four involved will do a good job, but they're all guys who have been involved with the club/SMiSA/whatever before so I can't see much fresh thinking coming from them.

It’s interesting that there wasn’t anyone in the 30-40 age bracket. Not that I’d have put myself forward, but is it just a time thing, e.g. young families, career, etc?

  4. I’d be pretty disappointed to see him become involved. Chapsticks has summed it up - a lot of good for the most part, but ran out of ideas and soured the relationship. Argentine investors. Tommy Craig. Etc etc.

Clearly, BAWA populated with those with a SG leaning. Even Demented Zebra has talked stuff and said it came from a former board member…not difficult to see where the rumours are coming from.

    A tag harsh, imo.

For me, it's an easy argument that he deserves a place, not saying that argument will win but it's a very easy argument to make. As for it being an usual managerial decision, don't go with that. This was the captain, a player like across the fanbase and a player who had put in multiple MotM performances last season. To drop that sort of player is definitely not usual.

Now to be fair, it's worked out for Robinson, but it doesn't leave any less of a bit of a bad taste in the mouth seeing Shaughnessy confined to the bench.

We don't know what is going on behind the scenes, and Shaughnessy looked motivated in his short cameo the other week, but ultimately if Robinson had made his mind up, he should have shifted him out during the Summer, as come this window he'll be able to sign a PCA, and we'll lose any possible transfer fee. I would be stunned if he's still around come February, which is a shame considering how much he has benefited the team over the years. As for where, you'd have to look at St Johnstone and/or Aberdeen due to previous stints at both, and looking at both he would add to their respective teams.

‘A bit of a bad taste’ is a bit over the top. He’s been a good servant, but Gallagher is an improvement on him and Joe can’t play the other two CB slots as well as Fraser or Dunne.

Dunne gives the balance as he’s left sided and Fraser can step forward and support Strain, something that’s been effective this season. With the greatest of respect to Joe, he just doesn’t offer that.

The question yesterday was Gogic or Joe. Clearly, with the investment in Gogic he’s going to be ahead of him.
