  1. It says it all that even the Holt ‘defenders’, okay that’s a bit strong. The people who are absolutely insisting Holt has no say on the signings… cannot tell us what Holt does instead of this. Even if it’s 100% Rennie’s say, I wouldn’t trust Holt to handle a contract negotiation based on his record over the last 12 months. This is a thread with 1000s of pages. It’s sad so much is devoted to discussion about Holt. That’s because he’s been here too long, and nothing else of any good is worth discussing.
  2. Happy new year fellow Bairns PnB. First rumour of 2022, Kenny Miller is 99% not going to register as a player, unless we have a severe shortage with covid or the like. Suggests that either Dowds is coming back or they’ve something else lined up.
  3. This only makes sense if it’s a back 5 and it’s the following Williamson - New CB - Dixon - ATS - McCann Or it’s a pointless signing as someone has already said, arguably the position we need least amount of cover for. Don’t care what anyone says about it, that’s a Holt signing as well.
  4. I’m resigned to it, but wouldn’t stand in Holts way should he want to join his boyhood team. Don’t want it to drag on, the quicker it’s done the better.
  5. Think most people are having a bit of fun with suggesting Jack Ross, been a good read. What’s not is suggesting that someone wouldn’t take him as manager, considering the rest of the candidates out there. Mental.
  6. Jack Ross to Falkirk makes sense for all parties considered here. Surprised there’s nothing on McBookie for him.
  7. Pointless sacking Sheerin if Holt is in charge in picking his replacement. Whilst there’s no obvious candidate, would be severely underwhelmed with Rice.
  8. Now I can see why you want to keep the manager, if that’s your solution to an alternative. Frightening.
  9. So we should snap your arm off to get a manager, because… he’s been a manager before? I know we are at a low ebb but that criteria alone is dangerous. Like Shadwell, I don’t think he’s solely to blame for what happened at Hamilton, but has done nothing there to suggest to me it would be a success. If he wasn’t ex Falkirk, nobody would mention him. And before you ask, no, I’ve not got an alternative at the moment, but like the vast majority, want Sheerin and Holt out. We’ve tried experienced and inexperienced managers in the last 4 years, none of which have worked. However, going off previous League One winners recently in McCall, McGlynn, Campbell, may suggest a rookie isn’t what we need, but who knows?
  10. Ben Hall is poor, no denying that, but he’s still better than 3 year deal Brad McKay. Other than that, spot on.
  11. At least now you lot will start taking us seriously when we tell you how bad we are.
  12. This is going to be an absolute doing. What we would give for someone like John McGlynn as manager. Credit to him for changing his style of play from his previous Raith tenure. Connolly appears to be in the goals recently, how has he been for you? Must admit I was surprised he ended up in the Championship.
  13. I mean you’ll know your own team so fair play on the bookings. But wow, that third bet.
  14. Sorry Clyde fans, I thought we were bad. My word. We played well but were allowed to. Won’t get an easier game than that all season.
  15. Connelly barely completed a 90 minute game for us last season, had been decent prior to that but was surprised a team who finished second in the Championship signed him. Injuries/fitness seemed to be an issue. McManus was brilliant for us but there’s always been the question whether he can make the leap from League One to the Championship. Seems to be doing well in the Welsh league but I’ve no idea what level that is in comparison to Scotland. Pretty sure most fans would take him back if the option was there.
  16. If results go a certain way next week, we could end up joint second bottom. We haven’t even hit our lowest ebb yet. Sleepwalking into it.
  17. Hard to get excited for games anymore based on the last 4/5 games. I think he’ll revert to Ruth up front on his own as we fall behind and then bring Keena on for us to get a draw.
  18. Not a sentence any Falkirk fan would say. Funny how these things work out.
  19. Just out of interest, if they don’t want to come to us because of that, what clubs do these players end up at?
  20. Nah that’s fair and perhaps badly worded by me. 6 games is enough to tell us our strengths and weaknesses, and what we need to do. 9 games/a quarter perhaps more about the league overall, rather than just us. Be interesting to see if/when Morrison and Williamson come back in what that adds, but who knows when that will be.
  21. One of these teams has brought in a new manager this summer, rebuilt the team, and has got the good feel back amongst the supporters again. The other team is Falkirk. After 3 defeats in a row it’s important we not only stop the rot but get back to winning ways. Dumbarton fans: apart from the obvious, what’s the main difference between Duffy’s team last year, and your new managers team this year?
