  1. Kelly has been as much at fault for our defeats at Bayview as anyone, he's made some monumental cock ups in goal playing against East Fife. Can't fault him yesterday but it was some strike for your goal and thought we were unlucky not to get a draw out of it with the pressure we had at the end. The last few games against East Fife have been close, the first two games were a bit freaky, we fell apart in the first game and East Fife went to bits in the 2nd.
  2. I wasn't all milk and honey under Bollan either Afro, Berwick had our number in the 3rd div and we couldn't beat them all season, I remember their manager punching the air towards Livi fans when e were celebrating after the game against them because we had mathematically won the league after that game, seemed to really annoy him and he was trying to goad Livi fan with the fact Berwick was undefeated against us, was all very strange. We also never started our run to open up a gap till the back to back wins over East Fife (ironically) in January, Hopkin has us 9 points clear with a game in hand, you can't really fault him for the job he's doing, the points gap and goal difference is as good as Bollan's team at this stage, in fact it is even better as a fe teams below us had 2 games in hand wen we were 9 points clear, and our GD is better under Hopkin. Bollan had faults too, his tactic of defending corners with everyone back in our box used to do my head in, we were always having to clear the corner twice as we had nobody for an out ball so the ball always came straight back in again when we cleared the first ball in. I think the main difference here is Bollan had the fans behind him after being demoted down 2 tiers and the fans were unified with feeling unjustly treated by the SFA/SPFL, Hopkin has the baggage being in charge last season when we were relegated and a lot of our fans just wont forgive him, or trust in him. ..
  3. Can't fault Hopkin on his league performance this season, he's got us 9 points clear and beaten all 3 of our top 4 rivals every time we've played them. He's struggled against QP, EF and Rovers but I can get past that with us being comfortably top of the league. Only problem I have with him this season is him stick Mullin and Longridge on the bench and playing Rafa and Lithgow in their positions, just doesn't make sense to me and he did the same last season with White being put on LM and was ending up crossing balls into the box for Buchanan!! That worries me for next season but we'll see what happens then, can only take one season at a time and he's doing more than enough to get the team promoted this season.
  4. This is even better news than DeVita returning, immense midfielder, with one of the best engines I've seen, wee pittbull of a player going in for tackles Keaghan is one of my all time favourite Livi players. Can you tell i'm delighted he's back?
  5. Yep can't blame Currie for wanting to try somewhere else to get regular games, could easily be playing every week for a League 2 team or maybe even getting signed by another League One club, he was comfortable enough playing against Championship players last season and you can see he has a bit of skill about him. Just needs regular games to progress.
  6. Faf if it's true after the Stirling fan bumming him up as better than Buchanan. Heard Dundee Utd were interested in him, would be a good signing for Livi though.
  7. From what I remember Livi were nowhere near Alloa in the pre season predictions, most had us 4th and below, and Alloa was being hotly tipped to win the league, with Stranraer also well above us. My biggest concern was Hopkin, I could see he was putting a decent squad together and with players like Mullen, Buchanan and Pittman we'd score plenty of goals, but i'd witnessed how Hopkin kept playing players out of position last season and wasn't confident he'd have it in him to win the league. Interesting that McCall came out and said Ayr would remain PT in the Championship, and that he'd rather have quality PT players on high PT waged than low quality FT players on low FT wages. I guess Livi have tried to balance that out a bit by going for younger players with potential, and older more experienced ones with something to prove, looking for another chance after things not going for them earlier in their career, for whatever reason.
  8. I don't think Ross would've had Alloa up close challenging Livi, there were signs there before he went to St Mirren that their challenge was beginning to slip, they had just dropped points to a couple of teams before he left.
  9. When I was reading your post and got to Danny Mullen I was thinklng ffs why are we loaning out Mullen, then I read the rest and got to he's signed an extension to his contract, sheesh.
  10. It's back up on the website again. Read the match report and a few errors in it, well conflicting facts. The DR reporter who was there and the posters on here who were at the game said we had a back 4 with Crighton at RB, Halkett & Gallagher the 2 CB's, and Lithgow at LB. Our OS match report has us as a flat back 3 with Halkett and De Vita as wingers/wingbacks. Also has Mullen running through onto the pass back for the controversial offside decision, everyone on here and the DR reporter has Buchanan running onto the pass back.
  11. Anyone know why the announcement on our official site saying Kelly was staying till the end of the season has been removed? Hope it isn't because we jumped the gun and Sevco aren't letting him stay now.
  12. I see Sean Crighton got into the SPFL team of the week at RB, thought Liam Buchanan would've been in there too with him being the first SPFL player to reach 20 goals this season.
  13. At least he will get some first team game time, which wont do him any harm. Good news about Kelly, don't really need any more players in but would be great if we can get some signing up for another couple of seasons, Pittman and Buchanan being priority signing for next season.
  14. Bit disappointed about Watt leaving, looked a decent wee player, and just needed run of games to get himself established in the starting 11. Sinclair has had even less appearances that Watt though, was expecting him to be away before Watt. Prob the best move for him going to Brechin, did well for them last season and will at least get a chance there. De Vita, Gallagher and Millar are all experienced players playing at a higher level, so obv they're improving our squad, and with Carrick scoring goals last month too we've strengthened in every out field area. Hopefully Kelly stays on for the rest of the season though or we're going to need another keeper brought in. If Pittman and Buchanan get their contracts extended then it will be the icing on the cake.
  15. I think you should have a read at the pre season predictions thread, Not many have Livi winning the league, and most thought Alloa would stroll it, with us somewhere below 3rd. Since we started signing players (a few weeks back with De Vita) there's been a lot of Airdrie fans making all sorts of spurious claims about our wage bill. It looks like you all got your hopes up after making a surge up the table to 2nd place and were already lifting the League One trophy, but are deflated seeing Livi making good signings that will improve our chances of winning the league.
  16. Every signing we make is followed by a few Airdrie fans posting some rubbish on here. They can disguise it how they want but it has obv got them peeved that we're signing good players and are strengthening our squad. They'd have been hoping to close the gap on us in the Jan transfer window, bringing in a few players themselves, and must be gutting seeing us making signings.
  17. What's Keaghan doing these days, last I heard he was back in Scotland looking for a club but not seen anything more about him. Would be a fantastic signing even just to the end of this season, he'd rip League One players to feck and score a few goals.
  18. Might even stop Insall and Ryan scoring against us the next time we play East Fife and Airdrie. Welcome back Dec.
  19. I read the The Rangers GK coach saying he was at our game against Airdrie last week and was happy for Kelly to stay with us till the end of the season. Not that it will be his decision but I thought it was encouraging seeing he'd be recommending him staying with us.
  20. You had hit a wee decline before he left though, drawing with Stenny and losing to Airdrie, and losing to Livi a couple of games earlier. Or was his head thinking about the St Mirren job and not fully on Alloa? Some start to the season though, Alloa set the pace for Livi and Brechin to try and stay with them.
  21. Ah well, you'd think he'd want to stay on till the end of the season with him getting regular first team games with us, and the chance to win a league title too. The Jan date was prob to see how things worked out and if he was getting first team games.
  22. I checked back on the website and it just says he was a temporary deal from Rangers, doesn't say how long we've got him. DJ was still here though and Kelly was meant to be giving him competition for the No1 shirt, DJ left and Kelly was our regular keeper by then so I would think he'd be staying till the end of the season.
